Hey everyone...

I am back from my day of meetings and caught up on the thread. Glad to hear the GTY upgrades/room assignments were done today. We are still in our assigned room 7537. I called my parents and told them to check on theirs to see what they end up with. They booked a 12 GTY. My dad is hoping for at least a 10 and will pay for an upgrade if he doesn't get one. I should know shortly.

Hi Chris

I guess im not understanding why you would want to upgrade your room. Think about it really how much time do you really send in the room IE Cabin. Most of the day your doing othe thing at the pool going ashore ect.
Think about it all you do is change and sleep for the most part.
As long as I have a place to put my head at night im happy. I guess im getting old:rotfl::rotfl:. To each his own.
Good luck to those who are trying to upgrade.
Dan

Time to put my tired head on a pillow.

See you al tomorrow.

Nancy.....36 days tomorrow. (Bit longer for us!)

Quick question. My parents want to upgrade. They booked through DU. Do they call DCL direct, or DU if they want to purchase an upgrade?

I'm here lurking, Paige!! Trying to see about booking a hotel so we can leave Virginia on Thursday, Oct 22nd... need to find a good place to stay (that's CHEAP!)

To stay in Orlando? Go through travelzoo and book comfort inn lake buena vista for $30 a night.....if they are still running that special.

It will be me, my brother and sister in law and 4 kids. Girls 3,5 and 7 and a boy 18 months. Our first cruise, but we go to Disney every year. We are excited to try cruisng with the kids. We have previously cruised Carnival and Celebrity without kids and enjoyed both. I admit, I am more of a lurker than poster.

Hi! Nice to meet you:wave2:

Hi! Nice to meet you:wave2:

I'm Rose traveling with my high school friend June

Hmmmm, I don't ever recall having Chocolate lava cake Lori. Is it served in Palo? We canceled our Palo dinner in 2005 cuz we didn't like the brunch. Do they serve this at dinner only? Or.....did you mean Nancy K? :confused3

Ummmm, not quite Steve. :sad2:
But, congrats on the Cat 6!!:woohoo:

I have magical powers MIcKey, remember? Just stay on my good side and I won't have to use them on you. :goodvibes

:hug:Hoping for one heck of an upgrade for you because of this guys.

This was Friday night when we met up with them in Niagara Falls.

Well I just made an impulsive purchase just now. I have always wanted a good SLR camera ever since I was a teenager and used my mom's old one. I was being a bad boy and texting my sister during my meeting today and she was telling me she is going to buy a camcorder for the cruise. I mentioned how I would love a new camera as mine is 5 years old and is only a 3.1 MP camera. We were talking and my mind started thinking....

So I just bought myself a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I know its big, bulky, but that is what I have always wanted. I rarely buy myself anything like this, so it is like an early Christmas gift for me.

I will be a big time shutterbug on this cruise!!!

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been able to be on again for ages. But I'm glad I did. We were assigned 6060 which is right near the elevators. I see that there are two rooms available: 6546 & 6544 that are not as close. Any opinions as to what would be better? And how do I know if I have a room with a connecting door?

Hope everyone got the upgrades they were looking for.

Here's an interesting fact:

Rob sent this to me. I'm not sure if these were mass produced or this is just a prototype, but apparently it was made for children to use during the Cold War....

That's Disturbing!

Steve - YAY!!!!! You will be really close to me, and a couple other BoBers on deck#6. I just looked at the deck thing adn it looks like you are about 14 cabins down from me!! (I'm in 6556)

Woo Hoo! Party on Deck 6!!

...at the midship elevators...I'm in 6567...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Alright! Way Cool!

You need to sic Angry Steve on her... I hear he's really mean!!:mad:

:rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, we got upgraded from our 12 GTY to a CAT 10. I'm happy with the room location and happy about the upgrade but not happy that we are in a connecting room :sad2:

I will be trying to get an upgrade at the port I guess :thumbsup2

M & R, watch out!!! ;)

Sweet! Congrats!

Awesome! More Great Neighbors!

Received two category 9's connecting on deck two for our two 12's. Reports say they can be somewhat noisy from Wavebands above, but I am still very happy!!

Congrats! That Rocks. I knew that the Cat 12's stood a great shot at being Upgraded to cat 9. there's a whole lot of 'em empty.

That's what I did. I kept looking at the inventory thinking, there's no way they're upgrading me to Cat 4 and there's not much availiable in Cat 5 or 6!

Quick question. My parents want to upgrade. They booked through DU. Do they call DCL direct, or DU if they want to purchase an upgrade?

Yep, Have them e-mail DU with their Conf # in the subject line (that seems to make the emails get to where they're going quicker) I figured out how much I needed to pitch in to get my upgrade and had them confirm it.

Then you go to the DU website and act like you are making a payment for the amount of the upgrade and in the notes area write in that you are paying for an upgrade and what Category that you want. It was done very quickly for me.

6060 is not connecting. 6546 and 6544 connect to each other.

Nice to see you back!

Freakin' Awesome! That's my dream cam too.

Thanks! I couldn't believe I actually was so impulsive. I was looking at high end point and shoot cameras but then I thought, "maybe I should just spring for a DSLR for a little bit more"

My current camera is a little Sony 3.1 MP camera that takes decent pictures, but the zoom stinks and I would like a little more texture in my pictures. Lately, I find I have been taking a lot of pictures so perhaps now is the time to buy, especially with a big vacation in 5 weeks.

I never would have dreamed about buying the EOS Rebel, but the price difference over the point and shoot was negligible, and was a little cheaper than I expected. I was also reading mixed reviews on the point and shoots, and the Rebel has always been a highly rated camera.

Elaine called me crazy, but quicky laid claim to my old one. :lmao:

Congrats on the camera! Just think of all the money you'll save when you don't have to buy all those great Disney pics ... you'll be able to take your own.
