10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #26

Hello everyone!! I've been reading this thread(s) off/on for months. Thanks for all the helpful info. This is our first time to be on the Disboards
before our cruise.

We are from Texas; Larry and Leona, Kaylee 18 and Hannah 11. Our first time at Disney was a land/sea combo 4 yrs ago on the Wonder. We were so in love with the cruise that we all said at the same time, "next time I want to skip the parks and go on a longer cruise!" So, 2 yrs later we did, taking a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. This year, of course, we are on this Eastern cruise for a week but the closer it has gotten the more we all would like to re-visit the parks. So, we are trying to work it out to fly down a week early and go to the parks.

Jeff, I got your msg about adding us to the list but I can't seem to find it. I'm not the most computer literate person. Any suggestions?

Glad to see you made your way to the thread. Welcome.

As I don't have the control of the first post this thread, just send a PM to Cass asking to be added. She may even pick it up here from reading the thread.

As Paige said, don't bother reading back. Just jump in here and read forward. Check out Cass' site for a ton of info as well as some links here in post #1.

Work. I had to move my Auditors to Tuesday because my Districts haven't reconciled out yet (they have to do that and sign-off before I can move forward).

Good amount of rain today. Not sure how Nancy faired at the fair. (yes, punn intended)

We need it so bad though. Very dry by our house. Got about an inch since it started last night.

We're going to the fair tomorrow. It is suppose to be hot and sticky - 94* F.

Yup, it's me, up at the butt crack of stooooopid on a Saturday.
What's up for the weekend? Anything fun?

We're heading to the Wisconsin State Fair today and then tomorrow up to the Wisconsin Dells for the day. We like to get to the fair early to avoid some of the crowds. We used to able to stay from open to close but that's when the kids were little and they went on all the rides and played tons of carnival games. Now we don't even go to that part of the fair since I'm not crazy about riding on rides that travel the country. Just too many things go wrong.

When I was a teenager I had hair down to my waist. I went on a ride that hung you upside down for a while and my hair got stuck in the gears. They had to cut me out of it. Talk about tears! Not only was my scalp bleeding from the hair getting yanked out, but I ended up with a Pixie hair cut after that because of the chunks that were ripped out.

I'm really surprised that I still love rides of all kinds, especially ones that go upside down.

We were upgraded from cat 9 to cat 5. Loved the verandah. I thought that the location was nice. It was quiet. If I had my choice I might have chosen the other side of the ship only because it has.a great view of CC when docked. I've heard of some not liking their upgraded cabins thatuch but it wasn't the case with us.

yeah, because there are no angels here.

As for needing a vacation, I need one NOW!!!! I do have 4 days off, plus a weekend, so 6 total, with DS later this month (camp ends and school starts about a week later). We'll hit my brother's, do some biking, canoeing and then up to the Dells for a waterpark day.

DS also has off the Friday before Labor Day weekend (1st weekend in Sept), so we'll have a 4 day weekend then. Maybe we can figure something out for then too.

October is still 2 1/2 months away.

BTW, sorry for the delayed respnses people. I check back about every 10 minutes or so as I get little projects done, I pop in. If I'm gone for a long period of time, send in the dogs, I think the numbers attacked me.
