10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #26

Good afternoon everyone. I just got back from my running around. All I have to do is cook dinner now.
Hello everyone!! I've been reading this thread(s) off/on for months. Thanks for all the helpful info. This is our first time to be on the Disboards
before our cruise.

We are from Texas; Larry and Leona, Kaylee 18 and Hannah 11. Our first time at Disney was a land/sea combo 4 yrs ago on the Wonder. We were so in love with the cruise that we all said at the same time, "next time I want to skip the parks and go on a longer cruise!" So, 2 yrs later we did, taking a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. This year, of course, we are on this Eastern cruise for a week but the closer it has gotten the more we all would like to re-visit the parks. So, we are trying to work it out to fly down a week early and go to the parks.

Jeff, I got your msg about adding us to the list but I can't seem to find it. I'm not the most computer literate person. Any suggestions?

Thanks again for everyone's helpful info on everything Disney!!! I still haven't read all the threads, but I'm trying!

Leona
Welcome aboard! I am Chris, my DW is Elaine. We are travelling with our DD9, DS7, my parents and sister. We are from Connecticut.

I only have one minute so go Yankees!!!

Nancy....Good Work. You are an inspiration to us all. Take some pics whilst you're there.
.

Uploading right now.:cool1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:You're welcome to it.

BTW...will you be having an ironing service whilst on the BOB?:rotfl2:

'
Yeah, good idea Heather....Nancy, when's a good time to drop off all my ironing for you to do on the cruise? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I never said I was any good at it. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Welcome Leona and family! I'm Nancy (G) and cruising with my DH Chuck (Charlie Tuna). Also with us will be my son Tony, and his wife Stacy (ST Cruisers). :flower3:

Good amount of rain today. Not sure how Nancy faired at the fair. (yes, punn intended) :rotfl2:

It was wet but it kept the crowds down too. :)

Robin and Mike: Great pics. I need a close up though. :cutie:

Angie: Was that your girlscout troop that went Peach picking? If I send you my address, can I get a peach pie please? :cloud9:

Steve: Have fun at the party and Happy Birthday to Stu! :cheer2:

I need advice....:sad2:

I love my cats.. they are turning 14 and my boy cat (Toby who was fixed many many moons ago) peed in my new house... some where central of everything.. so when you walk in ... PEE I SMELL CAT PEE!!!! :scared1:

I was reeeeeeally hoping he wouldn't do it.. he has been "forgeting" where he is for the last 2 years or so... he still has 4 years before he is 18 and pushing the cat age limit....but my house smells like CAT PEE!!! I don't want anyone near my home for the smell..sigh :sad1:

I have been scrubbing my house for 2 days straight trying to get rid of it but IT STILL SMELLS!!!!! I am now thinking this is becoming a every night event with him.. I cannot figure out what to do.. any advise??

We are having friends over for dinner tonight. Here's the menu. Tell me what you think:

Crabmeat Stuffed Mushrooms--appy
Chips/Dip--appy
Boiled Crabs (the cajun way--with potatoes, and corn)
Fried Shrimp
Green Salad
Ice Cream Sundaes

Iced Tea and Lemonade
Beer

This is pretty easy for me because all I really have to cook is the stuffed mushrooms. Rob is cooking everything else outside.

Now, I just need to keep my fingers crossed that the seafood vendors have crabs today.

Walt and Di---too bad you're not passing through here today. I'm sure you're experienced at boling crabs. This will be Rob's first time, so I imagine he'll be on the phone with his dad a bit during the cooking process.

Wow what a great menu. I wish we could make it. We are in South Dakota though.

The Red Sox will remain in 2nd at least through the weekend. They would have had to sweep the Yankees to retake 1st. I have a feeling that the Yankees will be putting some distance between them and the Sox.

I guess you are right Chris.

OK...ready for some State Fair pictures and a little Food Porn?

Here we go....

First, it was a rainy Saturday. After the rain it got hot, hot, hot! Blech!:headache:

Here is a picture that reminds me of the smoothie meet on the KK1 cruise:

Here is Chuck's favorite place at the Fair:

Breakfast for Chuck (Cinammon roll #1)

Breakfast for Nancy: Ho hum.

JulyandAugust09017.jpg

Snack for Chuck was a cheddar grilled cheese sandwich which I forgot to take a picture of. Here is a picture of snack #2 for Chuck:

JulyandAugust09015.jpg

Two cups of Rootbeer milk for Chuck:

JulyandAugust09016.jpg

Nancy's lunch. Chicken shish kabob.:thumbsup2

JulyandAugust09012.jpg

A Wisconsin State Fair special this year. Chocolate covered bacon! :rotfl2:

JulyandAugust09020.jpg

Another snack for Chuck. Pizza.

JulyandAugust09021.jpg

Nancy's snack: I was actually craving this all day. :)

JulyandAugust09023.jpg

Yet another snack for Chuck. There are actually two turnovers there, he's hiding one of them. :rotfl2:

JulyandAugust09024.jpg

Then right before we left Chuck had to have just one more Cinammon roll!:scared1:

JulyandAugust09025.jpg

My indulgence for the day:

JulyandAugust09026.jpg

Note: I have NEVER seen Chuck ever eat like this before! That man "oinked" his way through the entire fair. :lmao: Once we got home he actually told me he was still hungry. :rotfl:

Mike, I think you might have to take Chuck along with you to your appointment next Friday. :scared1::rotfl2::scared1:

Next up.....celebrity sitings.

.

Angie: Was that your girlscout troop that went Peach picking? If I send you my address, can I get a peach pie please? :cloud9:

One of the girls is in my troop and the other girl's mom is a troop leader. I have 17 girls in my troop so thank GOODNESS it's not all of them (but I think we are going back up there in the fall for Apple Picking....)

I peeled and sliced and froze almost 15 POUNDS of peaches, made a Peach Cobbler, and I'm TOO pooped to do ANYTHING!! I'll be HAPPY to send you a peach pie, Nancy! I'm not crazy about Peach Pie, but since I sell Pampered CHef, I have ALL the tools to make a fabulous one! :rotfl2:

First, Nancy - I am SOOOOOOOOOO proud of you!! I don't know if I would have the willpower you have. :worship::worship::worship:

Second, I just showed Dave a picture of this and he was like - YUM!!! (I was cringing and ewwwwww... but now I"m afraid he will be trying to make this tomorrow for breakfast!)

I wanted to share a couple of pictures of the girls in the Mickey Mouse Postcard dresses. Sooooo excited. THey are a little big on them, but I can take them in with my sewing machine (that's about all I know how to do! LOL)

And now...turned my head a teeny bit to the left:
JulyandAugust09018.jpg

We must have been walking directly up the middle of that all. :)

Now for a couple celebrity sitings:

You all know this guy:
Don't ya just love the crooked beard?:rotfl2:
JulyandAugust09022.jpg

And then this one. It's a really bad picture but I was too chicken to go and ask for one. This is Kathy from the Biggest Loser. Lots of people were taking pictures of her and talking to her but I chickened out. Kathy and her daughter Kristin were from Green Bay Wisconsin.

I never had peach pie either Angie. It just sounded good. :rotfl2: I'll take a spoonful of cobbler though. :woohoo:

It was dark chocolate too. Too bad I don't eat pork, or I would've tried it.

Wow...I thought for sure Chuck would go for more that one of those Chocolate covered bacons. We heard that was the new thing at the fairs.

Mike's looking forward to having a bacon eating contest on the ship.

Hey girl...I'm impressed. Keep up the good work! :goodvibes You may have just given me some inspiration.

snazzy pics chickie... and you should have totally got a pic with her!!! silly lifes too short to hold back!! :thumbsup2

Is it just me or is the DIS running slow tonight?

The only thing I'll be eating on a stick at the fair is a fruit-kabob. I don't like much of the food there at all and my crabby colon reminds me of it all the time. Not only that but when I weighed in at WW yesterday I was down 4.2 pounds. So I'm motivated!! I'll be drooling though when I see Chuck eat his Cinnamon Roll. (No Dawg....not that kind!:scared1:)

Have fun with it. We got Wii Resort last weekend and we love it!

Ahhhh, I know it all too well. :rotfl2:

Congrats MG on the weight loss! You are the woman.:yay::woohoo::banana::thumbsup2

Hi Leona. I am Lori cruising with my DH Scott and our 3 kids. Alex (girl 13), Julia (6) and Harrison (4). We LOVE DCL. And the Eastern is our favorite.:thumbsup2
A week at the parks before the cruise sounds perfect. I hope that works out for all of you.
I hope to see you around more often now that you've jumped in.;)

Looks like you all had a great time. We love Carter's Mountain. I haven't been in a few years though. Sorry, I couldn't meet up today. We got back from Roanoke around 7.
