Hey all! Quick note because its super late (Hi Karen and Heather!!)

Had an AWESOME day today!!! I skipped all my conference stuff today and decided to explore Chicago! :cool1: Sooooo much fun! I will do a mini-trip report later when I get home, but I wanted to share a couple of pictures of my visit to the SKYDECK (at the Sears tower - now called the Willis tower).

I stood out on the "ledge" - a 4 foot by 6 foot deck that is made out of clear glass (or something like that). It is SOOOOOO freaky and cool!! There are 103 floors up....

Here are a couple of pictures:
Fatty Fatty Fat me.... (WW starts when I get home)

Going to bed now - it's 12:30 am Chi-town time. We are going to the White Sox game tomorrow afternoon and then back to the train to head home.

Morning Angie...those pictures look OK to me. But don't know about the glasses boxes.

VP Heather is off to wash her car as no one wants to talk.

Good morning everyone. We are travelling up to Sharon, Massachusetts today to visit some friends. Di, that is your neck of the woods! It should be a good day.
Oldest WWI veteran dies aged 113

A Brighton care home announces the death of Henry Allingham, the world's oldest man and one of the last surviving WWI veterans.

A very sad day today for a lost generation mostly forgotten, but for me a generation made up of real people who were proud to be British...:snooty:

Morning Mike, goodbye mike,Live Footie is back thank god....:)
Chris, there is a similar understanding here with WWII veterans. I don't know how much you have heard about this across the pond, but an American journalist, Tom Brokaw wrote a book called,"The Greatest Generation" and that name has kind of stuck. Just recently in the last few years the National WWII memorial was built on the mall in Washington to honor these men.

Here in our city, a young local politican and veteran himself arranges one day trips to take WWII veterans to the memorial in Washington at least once a year. They fly down in the morning and fly back in the evening. They are really grateful and some of them reunite for the first time after serving 60+ years ago. There are some great stories.

Wow...it's gonna be one packed porthole. That's 4 so far thats staked a claim.

And it's about to be even more packed.....

Just got back from the airport. Tony and Stacy's flight to Vegas was cancelled! Not delayed...cancelled! The plane never made it back from Vegas to pick them. They had mechanical difficulties.

Air Tran could not get anyone on another flight until Monday either. They got a call from the airline while they were standing in line with 100 other passengers and were put on stand by for tomorrow night but it didn't look promising.

Lots of ticked off passengers. Even a bride crying her eyes out. Poor girl.

Tony has to be there by Monday morning as he is coaching basketball and he's the only coach who will be there until Tuesday so their options are limited. They tried to get on the Amtrack but it was full. Right now they are headed to Vegas on a Greyhound bus! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Don't ask me why they didn't book another flight. It's a long story.

Their first stop is in Chicago and I'm hoping it's O'Hare and they can get on a flight from there instead.

The ST Cruisers need a little "Dust Stuff" BOBers.

BTW...Kristin and Jesse are in the middle of New Mexico right now. :scared:

This is one weird weekend for us.

Anyone up for some Day 1 cruise pictures from our last cruise?

After taking some lifetsyle shots of all of us in Yankee shirts the kids went to meet the characters. Every morning or night, I can't remember which, Elaine would call the character hotline to find out the character schedule for the day.
