Good morning everyone. We are travelling up to Sharon, Massachusetts today to visit some friends. Di, that is your neck of the woods! It should be a good day.

Chris, there is a similar understanding here with WWII veterans. I don't know how much you have heard about this across the pond, but an American journalist, Tom Brokaw wrote a book called,"The Greatest Generation" and that name has kind of stuck. Just recently in the last few years the National WWII memorial was built on the mall in Washington to honor these men.

Here in our city, a young local politician and veteran himself arranges one day trips to take WWII veterans to the memorial in Washington at least once a year. They fly down in the morning and fly back in the evening. They are really grateful and some of them reunite for the first time after serving 60+ years ago. There are some great stories.

Chris only now are we "starting" to look after our Veterans real needs, for so long this country has neglected them for various reasons. The WWI/2 vets were often too proud to ask for help and the younger vets from Ireland,The Falklands and the Baltic conflicts were often seen over here as work shy malingerers when infact many were suffering some horrendous mental injuries,we lost 255 men in battle during the 1982 Falklands war but have since seen over 300 who fought there commit suicide, even now we are yet to see the full cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts,we should all support are brave men and women in whatever small way we can.....:thumbsup2

Sorry rant over....:rolleyes1

A bus ride all the way to Vegas with the wife sat beside me?...For Tony..:worship:
