Mmmmm - food network. I LOVE that channel - and I'm a fairly picky eater. I just love to watch people create such neat food. THe challenges are really cool. I especially love Ace of Cakes. He's in Baltimore and my girls want to visit him each time we go up there. I told them it's not like a regular store!

:rotfl2:

I love ace of cakes.

BTW, I have been unable to keep up with this thread..where in VA are you heading to?
We are heading to Central Georgia to visit some family. We should arrive there mid afternoon tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some palms tomorrow in southern South Carolina and in Savannah, GA before heading inland.

Chris- great pictures have fun and safe travels.

BTW...Wimbledon news.

Both Williams sisters are through to the final on Saturday. Good news for the US. A US winner on Independence Day.

Yay!! I love Wimbeldon. We don't sports in my house very much and my DH is not very sport saavy. We were eating lunch yesterday out at a diner and he sees the tv showing clips of one of the matches. He looked at me and said "that looks like they are playing on grass". :confused3

Gotta love him!! (He may have been pulling my chain... I sure hope so!):lmao:

Here is a sign I was excited to see until I was stuck in traffic about 15 minutes later. I would have posted a more welcoming, "Welcome to North Carolina" picture but Elaine was surfing the web on my BlackBerry as we crossed the state line.

I guess I killed the thread. Nothing like being bored in a hotel room, but thank goodness for wireless internet!

Both kids are sleeping, and now I am watching the end of The Matrix on TNT. No YES Network in North Carolina. :sad1:

Hi there Chris! Tianna was just asking if she could send Samantha an email. It has been awhile since she's been on the computer.

Do you know what excursions you guys are doing?

Hi Angie! I'm Dianne & I'm 36 too :D I'm also travelling with my dear hubby and two kids DS (10) and DD(turns 8 in September). It is my dear hubby's birthday the day we board the ship. Tianna (DD) would love to have another friend to email before the trip and have another 'familiar' person in the club. Cody isn't as much into emailing yet.

Marine One buzzing over the Potomac and our minivan.

great photos Chris. Unbelievable the helicopter. You and the kids look like you are having fun in the hotel pool..

We left Oklahoma at 1000 this am. We arrived at daughter's house in Irving/Dallas at 1215. Grandkids were so excited to see us. They are here visiting for the week. When my daughter got home from work we went to a really neat pool in her neighborhood. It had a couple slides, lap swimming area and all kinds of squirting things. Kids, daughter and I had a great time. Walt stayed home and rested. After swimming, we picked up Pei Wei for grownups and Macdonalds for kids. Now kids are watching tv, Walt is gone to bed and Erika and I are playing on the computer. Another great day.:banana::banana:

Hello from Wisconsin :wave2:

Made it here safe and sound and now I am in the hands of two AMAZING hosts :thumbsup2:goodvibes:woohoo:

Still no sign of the international man of mystery :rolleyes1 I have a feeling he may be locked up in Jeff's basement, bound and gagged

Mike, hurry up and get here, your sleeping bag is all ready for you...I think Cabo may have left you a little present in it tonight ;) :rolleyes1

I am about to pass out, bed time for moi! :cloud9:

Ellis had "moving up" day yesterday - he went into year 4 for the day to meet his new teacher. So far so good, he got the teacher he wanted :thumbsup2 The teacher he currently has has been demoted to year 1 next year. I knew she couldnt handle the older kids:rolleyes: Hopefully she'll be better down there.

Do American kids do this? moving up day? Every school does it on the same day over here. The year 6 kids go to their new "big senior school" too.

I also had 29 reception kids yesterday move up to my year 1 class. They are so cute and teeny compared to my class now! I even got them using their table manners and cutting up their own meat yesterday;) - I'm starting as I mean to go on:rotfl2:... their usual dinner lady couldnt believe it when she saw them doing it for themselves.... more fool her for encouraging them not to try all year:confused3
We don't do this at our school Karen. It does sound like a nice idea.

Well who wouldv'e guessed it? Donny Osmond :love:I was on cloud:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:Just wish my US sister was with me as well.

Can't remember much about the rest of the evening, I just walked around with a permanent smile. Hopefully autograph opportunity today.

:sad1:

Well we made it to Washington safe and sound. The mosquitos are fierce here. :scared1:

Safe travels Mike and Robin. I expect lots and lots of pics from everyone this weekend.
