While Hazel and Lina went out for a little while this afternoon, I went around the house and changed most of the clocks already. The only clock I didn't change is the big clock on our livingroom wall.

Hazel walked into the bedroom a few minutes ago and said, "Hey, it isn't 5:45 already is it, I must have been gone longer than I thought." I just sat here in my chair and laughed.......:lmao:

What about a park and fly hotel? We do that when we go out of Chicago. We got a steal before our Mexico trip. It was only about $120 with all the taxes and fees and we could leave the car there for up to 14 days. Plus we got the room the night before. Parking alone at ORD would have been more.

Check to see if that airport is covered on this website: http://www.parksleepfly.com
Thanks for sending me that. :thumbsup2 White Plains/Westchester isn't on that site, but Bradley is so if we get an early flight we may look into it.

White Plains/Westchester is a very small airport that caters primarily to corporate jets. The closest city would be Greenwich, CT...the richest city in America. I don't think I will find affordable lodging there!

I think they have 3 or 4 gates for the airlines that serve the airport. There is one garage thats it. I have googled "parking at westchester airport" and the answer I find the most is to "get a ride" It would be pretty hard finding someone to drive us 100 miles one way.

I am still holding out for Delta or Southwest to come through for me.

Does anyone have a picture of a palm tree (or two) with perhaps just water behind it? I need a picture for a 5x7 frame. :worship:

Thanks.

I'll have a look:thumbsup2

Hazel was going through my summer clothes and came across this pair of shorts that I wore as recently as last summer.

I think they might be a bit too big for me now.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Holy cow! - way to go Andy!:woohoo:

Well we went and did it. We now have our flight for Oct. Went to Jet Blue and got a flight for $79.00 per person from Portland to Orlando no layovers streight through. I wish we could leave earlier but for that price. We leave at 1:45 and arrive 4:50.

$79:eek: :faint: -geez with prices like those we'd be on the plane every other weekend!:cool1: ... times it by tem and you're getting close to our prices:sad2:

Thanks Jeff. Laura and I are really debating on what to do on St Thomas/St John. I want to be on that beach. Laura is afraid the travel time will be hard on the kids (and by extension us.) I'll show her your pics.

Yes they are different. The tour drives about to various historical landmarks.

I'll have to look for the pics, but I know the tour stopped at some plantation or factory. I want to say sugar. I'll have to go through my pics though.

Since this quote was back almost 15 pages and no one (except Mike) tried for it, how about I just give you the answer and then someone else can post the next one?

So when you coming here then?

What if I could find you $378 or less, non-stop to Chicago, round-trip, you'd come, right Karen?

Hope you all don't mind me butting in. I read this thread from time to time to keep up with my friends from the member cruise. My DH and I did this tour last April and LOVED IT!

You get picked up by a boat that is moored right next to the Magic. The ride over to St. John is beautiful and they will point out some celebrity homes you are passing. Once at St. John you board open air buses that take you to the beach. You get a beautiful view of Truck Bay from above before getting there. Upon arrival you first go to get your snorkel equipment and then you are free to go anywhere on the beach you want. The beach is a good size one with brown sugar sand. For those with children the shoreline is nice and quiet with some waves but nothing big. For those who like to snorkel there is a sunken trail you can follow. Your beach time is about 2 hours or so. You are told what time to meet up for the return trip. I know DH had time to do the snorkel trail twice and I got some shopping in at the little (and I mean little) gift shop. The return trip is just like the trip over...bus to boat, boat to the dock by the Magic. We had plenty of time after getting back to clean up, shop at the stores at the dock and even go to Paradise Point.

Hope this helps anyone looking at this excursion.

3 hours travelling, 2 hours beach time:scratchin - not sure if I want to waste the travelling time. I might head for a closer beach and chill there instead.

How is this MG? I googled it......;)

We'd love to, but pennies are tight at the moment. We loved Chicago last time we went. I was pregnant with Ellis on our trip there. I'd want to see the Oprah show and have cheesecake at Eli's again if we went:rotfl:

We had a 2 centre trip Chicago and Boston. Loved both places.:thumbsup2 Maybe next year:cool1:

I need to do that on this coming trip. I spent $65 (priceline) and then another $90 for parking. I see a Sacramento hotel for $125 that works for me.

So, Ellis and I went on our "date" this evening:cutie:

He was quite the young man:cutie: He even wore aftershave and hair gel:cutie:

He asked for the bill and paid it all by himself (Daddy filled his wallet up for him):cutie:

The waitress couldnt believe it:cutie:

What made it hysterical though was he didnt want to leave a tip:rotfl2: ...he was moaning about how much I wanted to leave her:rotfl2: ... he figured the more he left on the table, the less was left in his wallet.:rotfl2:

What he doesnt realize is that Daddy will be asking for his change when he sees him in the morning:rotfl2:

We had a lovely time:goodvibes

Part of me wants to start reserching stuff, the other more pessamistic side of me says not to until we've paid for it all:rolleyes:

Neil worked all last weekend and clocked up quite a bit of overtime last week too, so that will help towards the flights.:thumbsup2

I'm saving all my "wages" from my little school job to pay for the villa as a 4oth birthday surprise for Neil.

That still leaves car hire, spends, park passes etc etc.:scared1:

Boy Andy, that's great! You look like those folks on The Biggest Loser!

Great to see you Mary! How are you doing? I like that idea. I'm jotting it down so I can remember it.

Hey Dan - Did just book a one way ticket? Or are you going home on the 31st? :confused3

I just looked on the JetBlue site and they don't have flights for Nov. 1st posted yet (at least not for MCO to EWR) - they stop at 10/31.

We just booked the flight down for the 22nd. We want to come home on Nov 2 which isn't open yet. I called JB & was told since they only book their flights as one way anyway we would be fine booking our return flight at a later date. We wanted to get that great price so we did it. The flight doesn't get to Orlando until 5:00 but that's a small price to pay for the convenience of non-stop from Portland & the price.

Hey Dan, I read your post and called my dad right away. They live just a few minutes from the jetport and will be watching for the November dates to open. They would just take a cab to the jetport and leave the car at home.

Thanks so much Mod Mary! In talking with my family, this will most likely be the excursion we take. My parents and sister have been to the East before and love Trunk Bay and want to return. We have only been to the West on our two cruises and are eager to swim at what many consider the best beach in the world.

Chris, just read the above response to Kathy about our flight.

Gosh! - 3 posts in a row! - pass the deodorant!

Where did you all go?

Steve, are you busy reserching beaches for me?;)

Jeff, are you finding me a flight to Chicago for $10;)

Andy - are you busy losing more weight so you can fit into even smaller trousers?:goodvibes

Anybody:confused3
