My dad had bad knees, but that was due to the fact that he did a lot of driving as part of his work.

OK, I'm picking up speed now - I just finished the Tokyo Dining trip report for anyone who's interested.
Kathy - I have really been enjoying the trip report. I'll be off to read this installment as soon as I get dinner going!

We are renting a car and returning it before the cruise and then renting another one after the cruise. :thumbsup2

But the reason I asked was because I am looking for a place to store Kira's car seat and full size stroller while we are on the cruise. I don't want to lug them onto the ship since we don't need them and we are staying in an inside cabin and just don't have the storage. I was just thinking if we could manage to find someone with a car that was just leaving it at the Radisson anyway, then maybe we could rent some space in their trunk :lmao: :thumbsup2

You are welcome to our trunk. Roger will probably drop us off at the terminal and then come back and take the shuttle.

Good evening everyone. We have about a foot and it is still snowing. I had to take my snowblower down to the office to get the sidewalk cleared. I usually have a volunteer that takes care of that, but since it wasn't done, I am guessing he was snowed in.

It took forever to get warm today! I am sitting in front of the fire now.
What's the total for the storm up by you Chris? I just saw that down by the airport here they may get as much as 15", from a lake effect storm. :scared1:
Yeah we are looking for a total accumulation in excess of 12"

For anyone who is interested, I just posted the Epcot chapter of our trip report.

Hey Chris - there are some nice shots from the pilot's cabin of the monorail, if you are interested.
I'll check that out. Thanks!

Not a problem as long as is stays ALONG the lake. :thumbsup2

Although, MI, IN and OH get a lot off the lake in winter. I'm glad we're on this side. Not that often that we get lake effect. I never recalled it being this bad though.
My parents used to live in Erie, PA. They always had lake effect snow. In four years of high school, my sister only missed school I think one day. We drove there once for the holidays. That was it! :scared1: At the time, Elaine's parents lived in Buffalo and it was the freak Christmas storm of 2001 where they got like 6ft. It took me over an hour to go 16 miles on the NY Thruway. What stunk was it was the last 16 miles before arriving in Buffalo. I have never been so happy to see toll booths in my life!

I don't see as how that would be a problem at all!

Thanks Mimi :goodvibes

Won't know until closer to cruise time, but if we drive down from Jersey, you are more than welcome to use our car for storage Cass. I have to wait and see how much vacation time I have left by October, that will decide if we drive or fly.

Thanks Andy :goodvibes

Oh my word...join the cold club Cass. get better soon.

I sure am trying ;)

Cass, did you look into one of those Combi double-folding strollers? Don't forget, Kira will almost be 3 and won't need the really big one anymore. Might be able to cut back there.

As for the car seat, what's the rental rate for that from the rental car company? Is it $8 a day? I've never done it and I don't recommend it (don't know what condition it's in), but it would be an option. Can't remember when DS was in his booster types seat. That stored well in the closet on the ship. Kira might be a little too young/small for that still.

Doesn't DCL have a holding area in the terminal? If not, they should get one.

Are you staying at the same hotel on both ends of the trip? If it is WDW, hey may hold it in the luggage area for you. Worth a try.

Good luck.

Yeah, I looked at the Combi at Toys R Us and I wasn't that thrilled with it actually. Since we payed so much for the one we have now and it works great at the parks, I think I am just going to save my moolah and use that one, size is not an issue except for the cruise. Since her car seat is huge, I was trying to figure out a way to store both of them for the cruise part of our vacation. I would not rent a car seat after hearing so many horror stories. :scared1:

No Cass. We're handing ours back Saturday morning and then picking up another on the following Saturday.

Yeah, I think most of us are doing that.

Cass,

We are driving and leaving our van at the port. You are welcome to store the carseat and stroller in it while we are on the cruise.

You are paying to park at the port? When are you getting into the port area Leisha?

You are welcome to our trunk. Roger will probably drop us off at the terminal and then come back and take the shuttle.

Thanks Joanne :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your very generous offers  Perhaps as we get closer to the cruise and everybody firms up their plans, I could ask again and see who I could inconvenience the least by leaving a car seat and full size stroller in their trunk ;) :goodvibes

Sorry Cass, I was doing taxes.

So, did the girl from WI (she's from MI originally) get him in the end? If it's that one, she works at Suz' office. I'm not exactly sure of her name, I think it was Molly.

Went back after lunch and as I was walking through a yard to get to an outside reader I stepped into a hole in the snow covered yard with my right foot. The next thing I knew I had a sharp pain run up and down my leg and I heard a pop in my right knee. I'm home now and strapped to the heating pad. I did manage to finish the meter book I was working on though, only had six houses left to do when I stepped in the hole, so I stuck it out and finished, what a tropper I am......

 Hope its better today Andy:hug:

Hiya Karen. It was lovely down South too, if a bit chilly.

Its raining today:sad2:

DONT hire one:scared: - they are in a disgusting state. We had about 10 carseats brought out to us and I owuldnt hve put Ellis into a single one:scared: . They were absolutely filthy and awful. We drove to the nearest Walmart and bought one for about $30. (It was about $8 a day hire anyway).

Will she be too little for a booster? They are only about $20 in Walmart - we buy one every time we go:rotfl2:

Well, good morning peeps:goodvibes

Its raining and grey outside but thats not going to spoil my good mood.

Neil finally came home late last night.... and he'd finally fixed the stoooopid machine:banana: ... it cost many thousands of £ in parts and many loooong hours of work, but its saved them scrapping a £3 million machine.

Ellis was good at school yesterday:woohoo: (for the first time in weeks:rolleyes1 ) and my back isnt hurting too much today:woohoo: :yay:

Its gonna be a good day peeps:thumbsup2

Even the ironing pile doesnt faze me this morning:rolleyes1

Have a good day everybody:goodvibes

:cold: Windchills near zero here this morning :cold:

Morning All! Still a few school systems closed around here today, but not mine. Off to work I go!

Question of the Day. (Again, thanks Kathy)

Where is your favorite character meal?

My answer: I've only been to one, so Parrot Cay on the Magic. :)

Ditto - Parrot Cay on the Magic!

When we take Thomas to WDW we're planning one for sure, so I'm looking forward to seeing the answers!

I guess it must be me, since lots of people watch, but I find that show incredibly brutal. Especially when it gets down to just two people.
