So on my way to work this morning I stopped at the grocery store. This sweet little lady ran up to me and asked if I watch American Idol. When I told her yes, she told me she was Danny Goeke's grandma!! Danny, who is from Milwaukee, made it into the final 36 last night and he's the guy that lost his wife 1 month before try-outs. He competed with his best friend Jamar, also from Milwaukee (don't know his last name) who did not make it through to the final 36.

That sweet little thing was sooooo excited and was telling anyone who would listen. :lmao:

That is just the sweetest story! We really like Danny - his story is so sad. It is a good thing he will get to be on season 8.
I'm sure they'll do really well:cheer2: Are they all "bendy":goodvibes - fingers crossed :thumbsup2

Ahh how sweet:goodvibes

:thumbsup2

Mimi: Good luck!!! I miss the competitions.:cheer2:
Mimi- Good luck in the competition sending:cheer2:

I loved WALL-E. I thought Bolt was ok but i will buy it when it comes out just because of the Hamster. We saw Wall-E on the Wonder last year. We loved it.

Amanda

Good Luck to Mimi's Cheerleaders!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you all so much! The girls gave everything they had today at practice - some of them missed school on an excused absence and still came to practice - amazing! I just hope they are well by tomorrow, Saturday at the latest.

Bolt is released in Cinemas this Friday here in the UK. Is it any good?

I thought it was just OK - I don't think it was up to the usual Disney standard (and not even close to Pixar!). However, the hamster is hysterical!

WALL*E is going to TROUNCE it at the Oscars!

We liked Bolt ok, but the Hamster steals the movie - he is hilarious!!!!

I just found out my nephew Charlie is in the ER  with a 105* fever, the poor little guy. Marina said his sister had a 104* fever ealier in the week. So much sickness going around........:sad2:

:pixiedust: :pixiedust: for Charlie - I will say a prayer for him too.

Nancy - I hope you get better soon!!! Pink eye can be nasty.

Sounds like Lina has a thoughtful fellow, Andy!!!

Karen - How's the window?

Have a great night everyone!!!

I just finished making Hazel's Valentine's Day card, but I can't print it off until tomorrow morning while Hazel is still sleeping........:lovestruc

Hey Mike,

I took a snapshot of tonight's festivities for you.....

It was amazing how many girls in the neighbourhood have the exact same costume as me :rolleyes1

Yup, he was the original Apollo. I don't like that he's a jerk in the new show
Yeah, he started to redeem himself on New Caprica, but once they returned to the fleet he was up to his old shenanigans.

At one point, I thought him and Roslin were friends even! All that changed rather fast.

Wow! - well done Andy - half paid for is brilliant! - all we've paid for so far is the deposit:rolleyes: ... no idea where the rest of its coming from:rolleyes:

Feel better soon Nancy:hug:

It will probably be skin pricks then. Its not painful but not that nice either. They put a tiny needle and tap it onto the skin. They will put an allergen that everyone reacts to as a gauge against the things they are testing. This will automatically come up ina red mark... it wouldon everybody. They'll then do the same for the things they are testing for...ie nuts etc

Ellis didnt like it done:sad2:... :rolleyes1 .... have some piriton ready for when its all over and maybe take something that might distract her. The trouble is after the first needle prick she'll know what the rest will feel like:rolleyes1 ... prepare yourself... Ellis was rather loud in voicing his opinions:rotfl:

:rotfl2: I like his style:lmao:

I'll get it rebated later on once they've sorted out my tax code, but it sucks til then:rolleyes:

For me, the pricks aren't as bad as the reactions. It is sooooo hard not to try to scratch them or rub your back against something to help relieve the itching. So definitely try to bring some things she likes to try to distract her.

Amen! I had severe allergic rhinitis since I was very young. They told my parents I would probably outgrow it which some people do. I didn't. Out of 210 skin tests I had reactions to 209 (at a plus 3 or higher) and they told me I'd become allergic to the 210th which I did. Thank goodness there are such improved medications for children. I took immunotherapy for 15 years, before they told me I was so allergic, shots/serum were not going to help me, so for me, treating the symptoms is all I can do. Hopefully Kira will not be anywhere near that allergic and will be able to be treated so it is not a lifetime thing.

Mimi--thanks so much for posting the pic of the two chairs sitting at Serenity Bay, I used that pic, with others that I took, as part of the card I made for Hazel. I even wrote a poem (using the Roses are Red, Violets are Blue rhyme) and added it to the card.

Lina picked up a Sand and Sea scent Yankee Candle for me today. I'm going to have the candle burning when I give Hazel the card that announces that we are back on the 10/24/09 cruise. I know she is going to be so surprised. :goodvibes

Awww - that is so sweet! I am SOOOOO glad you all are back on the cruise! I am looking forward to meeting you face to face! I know she will love the card! What a precious thing for you to think of and take the time to do!

Hey everyone, it seems like a pretty quiet night on the DIS.

I am not a Grey's fan, and i stopped watching ER years ago, so I just hang out on Thursdays.

Just heard from Marina. She had to take Charlie back to her PCP this morning, while there a table Charlie was leaning against broke and cut Charlie's lip. The doctor sent Marina and Charlie back to the ER so he could have several stitches put in his lower lip. The poor little guy sure has been through it the past couple of days. Oh yeah, Marina did say Charlie's fever broke sometime today, which she is very happy about.

Let's hope the little guy starts to feel better.

DAN
I don't remember, Dan but here you go again. I have this from the Member Cruise, but I don't even know if I took it now or was given it by someone else.
