Ive had to walk away from Ellis.... he's been home 5 minutes and we're already at battle:sad2:

He just told me he doesnt know the answer to 20-19:furious: - a reception class question... not year three....he does this on purpose most Fridays,...a. because he knows it winds me up and b. because eventually I will have had enough and tell him to stop.

Well, he's got another thing coming today... he's sitting there til he remembers where he put his brain::yes::

So, you leave your crock pot on while you're at work?

For some reason, I can't get used to this idea. I'm not really sure what I'm afraid of, since the inside of the cooker is ceramic and I put it on my Corian cutting board, which is on top of my Corian counter (I do this when I use it on the weekends).

Maybe I need more crock potters to weigh in on this issue :confused3 . Does everyone leave their crock pots on when they're not at home?

Of course!! thats what they are for..lol they do not produce enough heat to cause anything bad to happen.. and you are not suppose to lift the lid when it is cooking or you loose the heat needed to cook. We had beef stew yesterday.. left it cooking from 6am till 5pm.. I was at work the whole time :)

I LOVE my crockpot!! I make all kinds of things in it. The meat comes out sooooooo tender.. low and slow baby allll the way!

OH BOY
Well I guess its just you and me for Everest. Does Roger do coasters?
This will be my first time. Nancy is a watcher:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Dan

OK, so Nancy, Tommy and I can go have a nice cup of tea at the Royal Anandapur Tea Company while you guys ride. (Who knows - maybe I'll be able to ride by them :confused3 ).

B/T/W I think Frank booked a later flight on Sat., so he will probably come back to the World with me for a little while.

Good morning all

Well we are currently in a lovely Chinook (warm spell) for a change to the temp will be +10 today :goodvibes with any luck it will melt all the snow that has gathered, absolutly amazed at how much snow has stuck around this year. Normally it falls we have a Chinook it melts then it snows again and then Chinook etc. Our snow that has gathered is definatly been an issue for Calgarians cars, so many have been stuck in HUGE ruts and such.. We have been lucky so far. I fell asleep right after supper last night and woke at 6am to walk the dog and go on my elliptical (5 days straight!! :thumbsup2 ) It is only 15 mins for now but I am working up to 30 in a couple of weeks I hope :cool1:
As always hugs to those who need them :grouphug:
:grouphug: :dogdance:

Thanks Bernie! That's the part I wanted to here - that nothing bad can happen. I have only recently become a crock pot convert (mostly due to Nancy G's massive collection of crock pot recipes!) so I am new to all of this. But I sure do agree that everything comes out incredibly tender - the first time I made chicken in it, I ended up with shredded chicken, because it came apart as I was trying to get it out of the crock pot!

Ok, one more quick post before I go...

Paging Cass, or anyone else who does digital scrapbooking...can you give me a little info on what program you use and how you got started? I am thinking of switching from paper to digital but I'm not even sure where to start.

Thanks!

Jen, I use Photoshop for my digital work. Photoshop Elements will work just fine and nowadays, there are tons of digital sb'ing programs you can buy :thumbsup2

Here's a Digi-SB FAQ that should get you started :thumbsup2

Everything will be fine especially if you used it already and nothing happened.. i admit for the first run of any new appliance i stick by it, but after the trial run I am assured it will be ok.. and you know thats good because I am very freaked out by house fires, I lost our home to one when I was 10ish and that will stick on my memory forever! we got out just in time and watched as everything we owned dissapeared. It was due to a faulty cord on a lamp (nothing to do with cooking).

Yeah, I feel better after doing it to, kinda a mind boost knowing I am not watching my butt get flatter and wider..lol but after 19 years of being a "big" girl I am not expecting instant results..lol tho I think i felt a tummy muscle twinge.. didn't know I had those! :lmao:

Good morning everyone. Today is sort of a day off for me. Sam is home from school, and we are getting DirecTv installed this afternoon. I was planning to take the afternoon off, but now it looks like an all day event. I can still check my email on my office laptop.

It feels like a half day friday... Wonder if I can swing that?..lol

It is also sushi friday mmmmmmm I cannot wait till lunch!:thumbsup2

I am thinking about taking off work early this afternoon, but still on the fence...lol...

BTW - awesome job on the elliptical...keep up the good work!

Looks like you got your answer, but I'll say Hi anyway!

Yes, I leave mine on for 11 or so hours - put it on in the AM before work and eat around 5 - never had any problems.

BTW - did I mention slow cooker liners to you before....wonderful things! Easy cleanup!

Anyone have any big plans this weekend?

WOW!!! We made it up to 13* at noon!!! :cool1:
In my car, the thermometer said a whopping 16. I was happy to see that! When I put DS on the bus it was 1.

I am a little irritated that the firewood guy hasn't called us back in a day and a half. It doesn't seem like he wants our business a whole lot.

Refillable mugs :crazy2: What were you thiniking? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I know much better now Leisha. :rotfl2:

Tons of hugs :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thanks Janice. :flower3:

I'm nervous too Kathy. Most of my recipes call for 6 hours and since I'm gone for 9, I get nervous. Now I put the crock pot on at night while we're sleeping and since I don't ever sleep past 5 hours a night, I'm good. Then we just heat it up for dinner. :)
