His Mom should be proud, Di! What a thoughtful thing to say! It's so nice to hear a kid who actually appreciates all the wonderful things in his life. And that was a very thoughtful gift from his sister as well - how old is she?

Asiah turned 8 in November. They love each other but sometimes fight like cats and dogs. Diane

Hiya Everybody!

I'm meeting Frank in NYC tonight and we're going to see The Nutcracker at the NYC Ballet. We've been doing this every year since I was 15 and he was 18, which is a long time! After the show, we're going to Cafe Fiorello for dinner and my all time favorite dessert: Profiteroles!!! They are cream puffs made with ice cream and the waiter douses them with melted chocolate from a copper pot! I can't wait!

We here in the State of Maine are covered in about 1 1/2 inches of Ice We had a major Ice Storm last night. Im surprised we still have power.
Nancy was planning on subbing today but all schools are closed.
Along the Coast to about 10 miles inland its all ice then it's all snow or a mix.
It's a mess.

Hey Girl - How was it last night? How is Frank doing? Did you take any pictures?

Did you have fun???

The weather was lousy but the show was fabulous! The Sugar Plum Fairy was outstanding and all of the kids were terrific as well. I still get teary when the big tree comes out of the stage!

As for dinner at Cafe Fiorello, that was fun as well. Had a rather odd waiter, which is kind of usual. Their new 'green' policy states that they are only serving bread and water if you request it. So, we requested bread - I choose the yummy foccacia bread. Then we had a conversation that went something like this:

Kathy: Could I please have some olive oil for my bread?
Waiter: I don't know, I'll have to check.
Frank: Isn't that a fairly common request, in an Italian restaurant?
Waiter: Exactly! That's why I have to see if we have any left!

b/t/w he did manage to find a bottle. I suppose if this guy worked in a Chinese restaurant, he'd have to check to see if they had any soy sauce...

And the profiteroles were as fabulous as always, although I don't know if they would get the Mikey 'stamp of approval' since the hot, melted chocolate makes the ice cream melt into the pastry for a big yummy mess!

Good morning all,

well we have a snow storm warning for Calgary today.. they might let us leave early to beat the snow home.. this weekend with the windchill it will be -40.
So this weekend I am staying inside!! except on Sunday.. thats the night of my Work Christmas party...lol
