we had a big one at our house(before the condo)in addition to a real one and an artificial green one.

i loved that silver tree. we grew up with one of those.
i put my old train set i had as a kid around it every year.

we took a small version of the silver tree to wdw in 2005 when we went at christmas.
highly recommend it.

i've been painting today.
downstairs bathroom. i'm using primer to cover the old color.
i just did the edges today. robin hasnt noticed yet but i painted the words
"helter skelter" on the wall behind the door.
i'll cover it up tomorrow.

got a new vanity top and picked out the tile for the bathroom.

Heather - You got the Black Friday question answered, but I was ready!

I love the big lights we had as kids. That is what we put on the yard tree now!

I wish I could find an artificial tree with those big lights. Sears had one two years ago but not anymore. I think they may have been too hot for the artificials.

We had an aluminum tree Mike. One with a colored light wheel on it. I would lay there for hours just watching the colors change. My mom thinks they still have that tree in their attic but I know it's only a ploy to get Chuck up there to clean things out.

They're really expensive too. Our's was around $17.00 back in the 60's. My dad probably had to work for a few days to earn one.

Mike, did the branches in your tree come in those brown paper sleeves? My brother and I would have sword fights with each other until we got yelled at.

we too would sit in front of it for hrs. watching the colors.
good times.

my dad was a cop back then and i'm sure he working some ot too(with 5 kids and all)

There's one there for over $200.00!! I'm kind of surprised that no one decided to just remake some and charge us a small fortune for them.

I'm thinking we just might want to start each new thread with one of those pictures That would certainly encourage people to sign on for the BOB cruise. Especially chicks that dig scars!
