My boys are getting Garmins. They are easy to hide...
Joanne - Why did you decide on a Garmin? Is there a monthly fee? Did you get a good deal?

Unfortunately, we just (I mean just as in this afternoon) moved ours from Feb 4 - Feb 11 to Jan 31 - Feb 7. We would fly out of Tampa at 3:34, so we'd be leaving the World around 12:30.
We figured we'd only have to pull DS for 5 days going Sat-Sat instead of the 6 required for Wed-Wed.
I was concerned that we'd miss Sepctro (Suz favorite) but it looks like it is running on Feb 2 (we wouldn't get in until 5:54 on Jan 31, so we wouldn't waste a ticket).
This really looks like a good deal. We were going to need to get 10-day, hoppers that don't expire soon anyways (you can get over the number of days you're there - you can then save some for October), so if you figure the cost of those and a Moderate at the AAA rate at that time ($119.20 + 12.5% tax), it would cost us $2,457. Under the package, we're only paying $1,876. That is a savings of $581.
If we look at it like we were going to buy the tickets anyways, it would be like getting the room for only $358 (or just over $45 per night before tax).
If we did a Value, it would be almost like staying for free, $58 for the week. Before tax, that would be just over $7 per night.
Add in the $200 room credit they are giving, and they would be paying us to stay there.![]()
Yeah they used to be ok, but lately I am rather unimpressed with McD's quality. The food is lukewarm at best, and tonight it wasn't cooked completely, so I filled up on fries.
Fast food in general has taken a huge nosedive in quality the last few years. I now prefer Subway or Quiznos over a burger joint.
Elaine and I have been sharing $5 footlongs lately. Its a cheap lunch! Our favorite is the Chicken Pizziola. My son is actually huge on Subway. He'd pick that over McD. Good for us I always say.
Sorry we'll be missing you then. By just hours too! Sounds like you made out like a bandit as well. I tell you, I can't remember the last time that I was this excited over a last minute trip (so to speak)

The first time we took DS to WDW they were running the buy 4 get 3. That was back in 2003.
Since then we've learned a bit though. We know to get the full 10-day tickets and get the non-expiring option. Also, if we go to the water parks, plan on something else in the evening and don't use the park tickets (we did both on our first trip). When you're done, you may have 4 days (or more) left on your tickets for future use. And with the 3 free days, it comes out pretty cheap.
Sorry we'll miss you guys down there. It just happens those flight times are the best price ($172 round-trip).
With the low air, the WDW deal, for the 3 of us, we're in at $2,390 including 10-day non-expiring tickets (we'll leave with 4 to 6 days on them). Then throw in the $200 room credit and the $250 in Disney rewards we currently have, and we won't be much more with food. I'm thinking $2,500 total for this week and we come home with future tickets. Not bad.![]()
You did very well. I'm envious! I'm at a bit over $2800. (counting the $200 gift card) I'm not spending extra for the Non-expiring because it's hard to afford the airfare from CA to Orlando. We won't hit the parks in Oct. because of the limited time that we'll have. Still, I'm paying $2800 for a vacation that 3 years before cost me $4500!
Don't forget Steve, you can convert a WDW Hopper ticket into a DL/CA 1-day hopper, so you could use the unused days in California.![]()
We did this before the Repo. Worked out well and with our average cost per ticket under $40, it was a steal.
now you've given me something to think about. I didn't know that they could be used at DL. I may have to make another call to disney.
I'm going to try my hand at making some pear & gorgonzola cheese tartlets - that's a Thanksgiving trial run so wish me luck!
We are celebrating 18 years of wedded (most of the time-lol) bliss.
Eighteen years ago, at this time, I was getting ready to walk down the aisle .........
So here's a picture of something I've been working on this afternoon. I needed lots of guidance from a very special BOBer but here is the end result:

My kids still get St Nick presents. Tradition in my family is that my brother and I used my dad's WWII boots for St Nick to drop off goodies. The rule is is that you keep getting gifts from St Nick until you have a child of your own and then he/she takes over.
Anyone else have any fun holiday traditions they'd like to share?
We are doing a family gift this year for Christmas. A Wii and a Wii fit. I want to get Sarah a game though, any suggestions?
We've made appetizers with crusty bread topped with pear, mustard and wensleydale cheese with cranberries. It was Yummo!
Tonight, Rob and I are headed out to dinner. Nothing fancy, Brick Oven Pizza. I won a gift card at Bunko last month. We are celebrating 18 years of wedded (most of the time-lol) bliss.

The fall is the prettiest here. It was a little cool, but I will not complain-68 on the beach is not bad.

Hi.....and Bye......
Gotta run..............................
