10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat Cruise (I'm with BOB) Chapter #9

I guess I must be out of the loop. I spend virtually all of my Disboards time on this thread. I didn't realize that the leading "rumor" for 2010 was for the Magic to return to Europe for Northern European (Baltic) cruises. I just assumed that they would return to Barcelona and the Med.

If this turns out to be true, we may be on the Magic for October 2009 and Summer 2010. I wouldn't redo the Med cruise, but I would take a Baltic DCL cruise.

Any interest in a European KK cruise?

Thanks for the quick welcome Nancy. I have had a few short conversations with Andy over the years. Our travelling party consists of me Chris, DW Elaine, DS James (Jay) age 7 on cruise, and DD Samantha age 9 on cruise. We will be cruising with my parents, and my sister. Our total party will have 7. This will be my family's 2nd Disney Cruise. This will be my parents and sister's 3rd Disney Cruise. We have both cruised with other lines, but there is just something about DCL that makes it worth the extra money.

Chris, I'll get you added to the 1st post, but it might have to wait until I am home from work.........

I am thinking of joinging this cruise.

I was not going to do a cruise until 2010 but i just cant wait so Dh said go ahead and book one........

I would like to have a year to plan as i work alot!
And the last one we took in June was spur of the moment and i missed out on alot.

So weird as it is before i go to the Cruiseline website.

I came to the CRUISE MEET thread to see which cruise i wanted to take. Yes i have issue!......LIME GREEN ISSUES

So later today i will be going to the web page to see what cabins are available on 3 different cruises that i pick from the meet and greet section!

I think i sailed with FAT ENGLISH GENT and Hockeychic previously.

Not sure if I'd want to do a Baltic Cruise. I keep seeing how Karen, Chris and Heather say how the weather is always cooler there. I want sun when I'm on vacation.

You never know, after the repo with Rick, Me, AEFG and his family, might change your mind.

I haven't had time to even think about the cruise yet. I'm starting to get in that mode now, but still have schedules to do for my Auditors. They will be here through Tuesday, so I will be on the go up until we leave. I'm hoping to take Wednesday off next week, but think I may have to do a 1/2 day.

We have a few things on the bed in the guest room (no clothes yet and there's still half a suit case of stuff on that bed ). We won't start packing until probably Saturday night or Sunday.

Suz biggest problem is shoes. Always takes a lot. I think I do too (dress brown for normal dinners, dress black for my tux, crocs, and I'll wear my tennis shoes).

Yes, we're packing Saturday.

You would think it would be reverse since when it came back it was during hurricane season.

That is the one thing I'm dreading about the repo. I remember in '05 the Magic skipped Cabo because it had to out run a hurricane. Seas were up to 30' where they were at.

You mustn't use the H word.

My lunch today is actually my review with my boss. He's taking me out. Hope that's a good sign.

Always nice to be very busy when it comes time for your review. Makes it look like you're overworked and not on the DIS like the other 11 months of the year.

Hoping for a decent increase and bonus. I think I will get both.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...we can celebrate in style.

Well my Disney card cycled for the last time before the cruise. I now have $260 in rewards to add to the balance of $233 already on the card. Suz Disney card has $196 to be moved out on to her reward card. That is a total of $689 for this cruise.

Add that to the $200 DCL gave us for rebooking while onboard and the $400 that Dreams gave us for moving the ressie to them, and we will have $1,289 of free money.

Gotta love when you can work the deals.

So we will be celebrating in style.

We had been considering the 10/10, but decided on this date just last evening.

After reading the cruise meet thread, it looks like it could be a LOT of fun! Looking forward to getting to know you folks as we overplan over the next 14 months!

The assessors left yesterday and the dept. passed with a 98.5%. They got a higher score than last time they had to do this. Sean's Capt. gave the crew today and tomorrow off. So he's getting everything ready at home for his parents arrival, while I will be packing this weekend.

I was soooo connected my first tiem around but then the second cruise I dont know if it was me or them or the lack of time before the cruise or all of the above but i didnt connect and i felt i lost out on a big part of my Disney cruise!

Well i have never done it this way befoe but since i have the options wide open i figured i might as well go for it.
Last Cruise it was that certain date or no date...
So this time i have options and i want good options.

I figure if i am toally ignored on a thread it wont be that date....

And yes you are right it is kind of liek the dating game!!!

Welcome Christian We're a real friendly group and although some of us have cruised together before, jump right in and join the chatter. I'm Heather and my DH is Rick. We're traveling on our own from the UK, but joining a real great group of people.
