Came across this funny little stunt. I have never been here, but I could only imagine the bewildered looks of everyone when it was over.

Okay... so I'm a few days late (3 12-hour shifts will do that to you!) But, just in case there are others that missed it, I figured I'd quote the link.

Very cool video. :goodvibes I don't know how they...or the people who do living statues... hold their pose.

OK, my Disney Cruise experience from May is finally complete. :goodvibes :cloud9:

While we were on our 3 Night Bahamas cruise on the Wonder, I struggled with a decision on the last day of the cruise.

I saw a wonderful watch in Treasure Ketch that I really liked. I only buy a watch every few years. I have my normal work watch (bought at Costco) that I wear every day. This watch was more of a dress watch and it looked and felt great on my arm. I wrestled with the decision whether or not to buy it. Apparently I took some sort of oath to myself to not spend anymore money after booking a "spur of the moment" Disney Cruise. Well, I didn't buy it. :sad2: I told myself that even with duty free, it couldn't be that great a deal. (At least not at the price it was marked.)

I got home and checked online stores, ebay, etc. :surfweb: Guess what!? DCL was a very good deal after all. Not only was the watch more expensive, even online, but it wasn't readily available anymore most places.

After periodic checks on EBay, I finally found one with a Buy It Now! price less than what DCL was selling it for. (You see, I couldn't just buy the watch for full price. It didn't count unless I could get it for less than it was being sold for on DCL.) Well, I finally got the watch, and I saved about 10% over the DCL price. :wizard:

The moral of the story is...

If you are on a Disney Cruise and see something that you want to splurge on (within reason), go for it! Don't count on finding it later when you get home.

Matthew

Okay... so I'm now so busy that I have to find out about what Matthew is doing here on the DISboards. How sad is that!??:confused3

Hello Heather and Beth........

Hazel is getting ready to go food shopping and Lina had a sleepover Sweet 16th Birthday Party that she went to last night. Once Hazel leaves, I hope to be able to get a little nap in. Being up since 2:30 this morning is beginning to catch up with me..........

Oh my goodness....your body clock really is out of wack! Been food shopping and been to the hairdressers. Now I have a basketfull of ironing to do..yuk.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
daddy and daughter bfast sounds good.:wizard:

when cassie was in grade school they had donuts for dads day. the dads got to go into the school and dunk a few with their kid.princess: .:thumbsup2
it turned out to be popular so they added muffins for moms day that same year.:thumbsup2

I like the sound of those! One year (at the daycare, I think) they had "Pretzels for Pop" day. Kindergarten always does a Mother's Day tea.

I suppose I'd better get on and get it done....now I wonder what films I have to watch whilst I'm ironing.

I can sympathize with that! Although I'm not up at 2:30, I do get up at 5:30, but I don't always sleep straight through.

I hope you have a good nap in the quiet house! Matthew worked last night and is sleeping now. I keep having to remind the girls that he's asleep and they need to be quiet!

Spent most of the afternoon filling out an accident report, police report and making a visit to the township doctor all because some Poodle decided to take a chunck of my leg. Now I have to wait until the Board of Health calls and fill out a report for them as well. The homeowner thought his Poodles (2 of them) were out in the backyard, little did he know, he wife had let them in and the dogs were in the utility room where the water meter was located.

Needless to say, one of the Poodles is not fond of meter readers, or mailman, as I found out. The mailman was coming up the walk as I was leaving the house, he told me the same dog went after him before.

My leg is a bit sore and swollen around the bite area, but other than that, I feel OK. I should have a nice black and blue mark in a day or two. The dog had all his shots and is in good health, but the doc gave me some antibiotics to take just to be on the safe side. :thumbsup2

The joys of my job.........:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

OUCH!! Is it better today???

Once Hazel leaves, I will turn the house phones off and only keep my cell phone on by the bed, just incase Hazel or Lina needs to get in touch with me. Hazel was on her way out the door when one of her sisters called. This could be awhile...........:lmao:

Yeah, the bite area is looking much better. But I discovered a nice black and blue mark on my side this morning from a fall I took yesterday at work. This has just not been my week at work. I was stepping off a curb and twisted my ankle, the next thing I knew, I was laying in the street. My flashlight went one way and the meter book went the other, luckily, as far as I know, no one saw me on the ground........

I've had a few falls like that over the years. A couple of months ago, I slipped going from parking lot to curb after it had been raining. I fell hard, but wasn't hurt. A teenage boy saw me and asked if I was okay (very polite, I was impressed!). I told him the only thing hurt was my pride!

Lori - great pics!

We want to go out east when DS is a little older and see some of the colonial sites - I have never travelled farther east than Chicago except for Florida!

I agree... great pics! As for seeing the sites... we have no excuse except work! We live right next to Manassas (Think: Battle of Bull Run) and only a couple hours away from all these sites... and yet... we haven't gone to see them! Okay... we have gone to Luray Caverns...very cool! The kids were still little and I had to pick Sarah up when they turned out the lights. Literally total darkness! It was amazing. So, although we have gone to DC, we haven't ventured to Williamsburg. The kids all go to Mt Vernon with school. And, we went to the plantation that was Robert E Lee's birthplace (Megan and I... school fieldtrip.) But.. family time???? Nope!:confused3

So, who will be tuning in to the Olympics this summer? Anyone looking forward to any favorites??

Mine would be:
Opening Ceremony
Gymnastics
Volleyball (Beach and Indoor)
Basketball
and Triathalon
not in that particular order.

I always watch the Opening and Closing Ceremony's. Gymnastics is a must. If I can, I catch the volleyball, some equestrian. I also might try to catch some soccer since I have a budding star in the house (Megan)! I need to clear out our DVR so I can record!

Oops! Forgot swimming and maybe diving!

Lori,
Did you notice, WE from LA, can't talk without our hands waving in front of us...Expressive I may add....:happytv: :happytv: :lmao: :lmao:

Paige understands only La Folk can make fun with LA Folk :thumbsup2

Walt :cool1:

It's not just LA folks! I talk with my hands too! I have even caught myself doing while I'm on the phone!:scared1:

Here's another:

Absolutely beautiful!

Quick question.........

what advice would you give to a first time DCL cruiser? He is traveling with his wife and 2 boys ages 5 and 2. It's a coworker and I've been giving him advice but would like to hear other ideas.:thumbsup2

My advice is to relax and not stress about doing everything. I stressed out so much on our first cruise that I didn't even enjoy the couple's massage that Matthew had arranged for us. (I must say in my defense, it was my first cruise and the first time in the mediteranean (Italy, France) so I wanted to do everything there was on the ship and on shore!:) )

Oh, I have to add... having the younger kids... remember to pace activities for them. If they are tired and cranky, you will be too!
