Thats awesome! I have always said that if I fly across the pond, I want to fly Virgin.

I had a similar feeling for our last cruise. I was reserved to the fact that we would have to drive as I was not happy with the airfare I was seeing despite checking the websites daily. One evening, I found Southwest from Hartford to Orlando for $59 each way. I jumped on it and as result it was cheaper to fly then drive.

I know how that feels to save so much $$$ or (tries to remember the icon for pounds!)

Virgin arent that good any more. They used to be by far the best, now they arent that special. Their service in my opinion has gone downhill in the last few years, we use them because they fly daily rather than just once a week and they are usually a little cheaper than some of the other airlines.

I also dont like them because they refuse to take nuts off their planes:mad: - apprantly the posh people in upper class need a nut or two during their flight:mad:

Gosh - I wish we could fly for $59 each way:lmao: - you could barely get a taxi to the airport for that money over here.:lmao:

When you do come to the U.K., make sure you bring LOTS of money - everything over here is twice as expensive and half the quality:rolleyes:

Now you know why half the U.K. flocks to Florida every year:rotfl2:

Way to go on the savings Karen Mouse!! :woohoo: I saved $100 on Tues by rebooking our rental car for Sept. :cool1:
Have a safe day out there today for anyone in the path of these storms. I wish I had a camera and could show you the view outside of my office. It looks like it's midnight! I can't even see the lights of the hospital across from me because it's raining so hard!

Wow! :scared1: - stay safe:scared1: Hope it gets better soon. Take extras care driving home.

Karen--some U.S. schools have uniforms. Most private schools require them. Some public schools, too. It is a debate in every area. My kids go to school on a military base and do not wear uniforms, which may seem a bit odd. I think they do not do the uniform thing because we see so many uniforms everyday, that not requiring them gives the kids a chance to be themselves, unique. It makes me no difference, but when we are fighting about what they should wear to school, I wish they would wear uniforms.:rotfl:

Thanks for explaining Paige - I darent tell Ellis that the US kids dont wear uniforms - he'll refuse to put his on next week:eek: I can see the benefits re the arguements in the morning , but at the moment Ellis couldnt care what he wears so he just pulls anthing out of his wardrobe (whether it goes or not:rolleyes1 )

Great school pics! I always loved the first day of school. New notebooks, fresh pencils and crayons. I could spend hours in Staples! Who doesn't love the smell of new erasers.
Thanks for the pics MG! I wish we lived closer to you guys!! Lots of parties in WI!! Have a great time at the Packer pre season. My friend Tim is out there today with his family. Left the little woman here in VA with us. Boy was she mad!

It's amazing how car rental prices keep changing. I check ours weekly and when a trip is getting close like yours is alomost daily because they can change so much. $100 is a good savings on a car rental :cool1:

Stay dry and safe Shelley!

Good morning, everyone!

Great pics of the mini meet! Very cool bike, Walt and Di. :cool2:

Gorgeous pic of Racheal....Cheryl, she's growing up before your eyes, isn't she? We have the same problem here.

And the eyes.......Racheal and Di--stunning!

I need a workout after just looking at that food porn. It all looked so good!

Yes Rachel sure is growing up before our eyes. When we visited my sister and brother-in-law this summer they couldn't believe how much she had changed since Easter when we saw them last. I can't believe she is starting high school next week already, the years sure have flown by.

The food last night was delicious and huge portions, I'm still full this morning. I still need to get a workout in before I go to work this afternoon!!!

Not sure if this website is any good to anybody - we get good rates for car hire from them - usrentcar.co.uk - might be worth a quote if anyone needs car hire?:confused3 (by the way, I'm not on commision before anyone asks:lmao: ) You choose which company you go with - dollar, hertz etc once you get onto their website. Its definately cheap for us compared to going direct to dollar etc:goodvibes

great pics of the TX-WI meet. or is it twix meet?
thanks for posting them..:grouphug:
wow, rachel is growing up. princess: were those beatles tags hanging on her neck. (jonas brothers, right?)

Mike how'd you guess, of course their the Jonas brothers but you just gave me an idea, Al could print some pictures of the Beatles and tape them over the Jonas brothers on Rachels' tags and we could see how long it takes her to notice :lmao:

We had a great time last night. Wish you and Robin were there. Nope no smoothies for us. We will have them on the cruise. Rachael is buying. Ice tea for Walt and me. We rode 1172 miles that is why Walt's eyes look the way they did. We are up bright and early this am. Walt is washing his bike. Now it will rain for sure today. I am reading the dis and making all important phone calls to my kids, parents and grandkids. busy day. Walt has it all planned out. talk to you all later. Diane

Thanks again Walt and Di!!! We had a great time last night :grouphug: Enjoy the rest of your time here!
Di were you able to reach your mom?

Thanks Karen, I'll have to check that site out and see if it would alow us to use it. I booked our car rental for Dec. as soon as I knew we were going and I sure am glad I did!! The prices have doubled since then

MG, thanks for sharing some pics from your meet last night :thumbsup2 It looks and sounded like you all had a great time. It's nice that you guys can meet up like that...no pre-cruise meets for me :sad1: Unless someone is planning on making a journey north :rolleyes1

It's nice to see you in a pic finally Nancy :goodvibes
Rachel sure is growing into a gorgeous young woman! ::yes::
Cheryl, Al, Walt, Di...you all look great! Can't wait to see you again next year on the cruise :thumbsup2

Ooooh Chuck, you only ate "halfa da sandwich" You need to practice up for the cruise buddy! :cool1: :lmao:

Shelley, sounds like my kind of weather  Stay safe and dry :thumbsup2

Karen, good for you on the savings :thumbsup2 That's quite the find for you ::yes:: More money for the Mouse ;)

Our Repo BOBers are in Aruba today. Let's hope they have great weather today. Then it looks like another two "at sea" days and then CC.:thumbsup2

Andy, how excited are you right now? :yay:  :yay:

To be honest, I've been working so hard trying to get the meter books ahead of schedule I haven't had much time to get excited, that will come once Sunday rolls around I guess. I'm planning on working Saturday as well. No rest for the weary.........

Ooooooh! - just looked at the 2008 Hallmark ornament collection - theres some fab ones this year:yay:

I love the Buzz in a box Wall-e and the Mickey window shopping ones. I feel the need to place an order:rolleyes1

I'm sooooooooo excited!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I was on the Dibb and someone posted that they had just noticed their Virgin flights had come down by a couple of hundred pounds:eek:

I quickly got on their website and:yay: :yay: :yay: - saved $1,100:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

What a saving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay:

Cant believe my luck:banana:

We managed to get the outbound early flight we wanted but have had to settle for the later 20.40pm flight on the return so we'll be very tired bunnies by the time we take off being as we'll have been up early to get off the ship, but it'll be worth it:goodvibes

Karen,

I guess you'll just have to kill some time at WDW before you go to the airport. :cool1: :cool1:

Matthew

Matthew

Yes! - at least there are shops in the airport:rolleyes1

We might do Kennedy that day then head up to DTD for shopping and dinner and maybe kill another hour with a round of mini golf.
We havent been to Kennedy in years... the last time I was chasing the astronaut around trying to get a photo:rotfl:

I remember how tired we were last year - we were in bed that night for 9pm:rotfl: Hopefully when we get on the plane we'll all fall straight to sleep and not wake up til we land:thumbsup2

I have a question - loads of you have photos of the Magic from the terminal.

When did you take them?.... and from where?

I was too blooming excited and too busy squeeling my head off to even think of taking photos - I just abandoned Neil and Ellis and I ran inside:rotfl:

Next time I'll be a little calmer (yeah right:rolleyes1 ), but if we're there earlier next time I may have time to take some photos before the terminal opens - (especially one of my free window;):lmao: )

Come on people - get posting!

And no............ the fact that you're at work is NOT an excuse:lmao: - just tell your bosses that the mad English woman told you you had to Dis and keep her company:goodvibes
