Is anyone planning on going to WDW pre or post cruise? We plan on coming in on Thursday before the cruise and staying until Tuesday after the cruise at BCV. That way we can do MNSSHP and the F & W.

Annette :)

I've made my ressies for a week pre-cruise at PO:R I doubt that we'll be staying for the MNSSHP on Oct 31st as Laura wants to have Stuart back in School by Monday. That gives her all day Sunday to get him to catch up on his homework if he gets behind on vacation. (bound to happen!)

Steve,

What we do is work with DS's teacher to get all the work prior to going on vacation. Granted there is a little to do when we get back, but not much. We basically double up assignments for about a week before we leave.

I also see a lot of parents having their kids do the homework on the flight home too.

On to better things, it's getting close now, isn't it? Booking hotel stays already. :cool1:

Hiya!

We're all doing fine. its so blooming cold here though - nasty!

Its seems like forever ago since we were on the Magic...its too long to wait til we get back on too! Cant you buy a time machine with all that money from your money tree and whizz time forward to boarding day!?

I've just been watching a programme that showed a cheese farm in Wisconsin! We still havent drank your wine yet. Keeping it for a special day. I did intend drinking it on the 24th to celebrate one year to go but it was too busy here to enjoy it.

Karen..we saw that programme and boy did it look cold with all that snow.

Not sure what the temp is right now but I can see my breathe already outside and its only 6pm. Its due to drop a lot overnight. I hate the cold. I should have been born in Australia - heck! - I sound like one so I'd fit right in!

Temperature in London is due to drop to freezing tonight.

Hello everyone!

Just stopping by to say a quick hello!

Welcome back Mike and Robin! How was the Wonder?

I had a great time seeing all my WI BOBer friends this past weekend. I don't have any pics (didn't have my camera - what WAS I thinking???:confused3 ) but I can say that I had a lot of fun.

Ok - cruise related question (sort of)...

Has anyone flown into the Sanford airport prior to a cruise? My FIL is thinking of trying to get a flight from Rockford to Orlando on Allegiant but they fly to Sanford, and all my prior research is based on arriving at MCO. Pros, Cons? TIA!

Jen..we haven't but I think Chris (AFEG) has. He'll be along at some point.

Good morning everyone...

I am patiently waiting to call the Doctor to get in and get some meds for this poison ivy. Yesterday the rash appeared to spread all over and my eye is very puffy. It isn't swollen shut, but I do feel pressure around it. I am hoping I can get in early and get some steroids in me today to cut down on the inflamation. It is very uncomfortable!!!!

If I have a hard time getting into the Dr.'s I will be going to the ER. Over the last 12 hours or so, it has really intensified.

Posting before I read everything, so maybe you have posted an update already, but I am glad youa re going to get medical attention - our eyes are too complex and precious to take chances!

Maybe Sue would even if he doesn't.

N

Good point - can you ask her????

Jeff,
That's a great idea. Since we're going to be gone for two weeks this time, there will be much more work than last time. (Leah will be school age by then too but Kindergarten doesn't hand out much in the way of homework.)

In response to your second statement. YES! I got so excited after I put down the deposit on PO:R. The planning bug had bit and I immediately pre-purchased the 2009 passporter. Now, I'm searching resort maps with a fine tooth comb looking for just the right building to request. I'm hopeless.

Annette :)

Hi Annette - Good to see you here again! I see my groom has answered for us - who believes he has been so active on the board on a work day!??? Woo-hoo, you go, Honey! And yes, Annette - I intend to experience MMNSSHP for the first time - and on Halloween!

Ok, I went to the doctor and just filled my prescription for prednisone. Heating up my grinder from last night and will take my first 4 20mg pills as directed once i eat.

I have had to be on prednisone many, many times. I am extremely allergic to many things. I even had to take it while I was pregnant with my son, because I was not getting enough air to get him enough oxygen. It is nasty stuff and does yucky things to bone density - another bad reason to take it as a woman. I do hope it kicks in very quickly for you and rid you of the bad mess. I hope your side effects are minimal!

Here's a website chock full of St. Thomas information:
http://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/cruiseship/

This site publishes a cruise ship schedule as well as a map of the docks (although the cruise ship schedule only gets updated 1 month at a time). Looks like the Magic usually docks at the West Indian Company dock which is closer to town. Magen's Bay is on the other side of the island. Lots of good information for curious people like Mimi! :sail:

Thanks Trixie! I do hate to not know something! And I love to plan vacations - get all the information I can and draw up a plan to make it happen!

How wonderful that you all could meet! I do hope you'll post pictures. I wish there were some Atlanta area Bashers we could meet with prior to the cruise!

Chiming in as a teacher who has taught kindergarten through 9th grade - I welcome the parent who tries to get their child to do the work ahead of time. I teach my administrator's son this year and when they went to the beach, she sent all his teachers an e-mail asking if there were any upcoming tests or major things he would miss as they were contemplating starting their fall break early. She asked if we were able to get assignments to him ahead of time so he might complete them before they left. Of course, I was more than willing to accomodate this request - this shows initiative, teaches the child the work comes first, and still keeps intact the concept that family time is important. I hope it works out for you and the teacher is sensible!

Lina came home from work this evening with her first CM paycheck, she was so excited. Only problem was, it was only for the two hours when she had to go in and sign all her paperwork, this coming Friday she will have a check for last week's hours worked.

According to Lina, our mall is opening at Midnight of Black Friday. Lina told the scheduling manager that she would be available to work the 11pm(Thanksgiving night) to 7am(Black Friday morning) shift. The manager said to Lina, "Let me mark that in my book right now!!!"

Guess who gets to take Lina to work and pick her up in the Black Friday Madness, me, that's who......

We are getting some light rain right now, and the temps are starting to drop. I heard we are supposed to have sn*w flurries by Wednesday morning. I'm not ready for this stuff yet.......

A friend of mine in Indiana sent me an e-mail this morning letting me know they were having some sn*w, guess it's headed our way.....:rolleyes1
