Good morning everyone...

In a few minutes I am off to the kids school for a little bit. Today they have "Donuts with Dad" so I go and sit in the cafeteria with the kids as we eat Dunkin Donuts together. It's usually a madhouse, but the kids like having me around with them for this one time event each year.

I might post more pictures when I get back before heading to work. I have more painting to do today!

In honor of Kristin's bridal shower and Bendy gorging out in EPCOT as we speak, and of course the holidays just being around the corner, anyone up for a little recipe posting?

Here's one, Becky. It is from my grandma and it is delicious--and I am not a huge cooked cabbage fan. To make it lower in fat, I guess you could use ground turkey, but I never have tried it that way.

Edia’s Cabbage Casserole


1 small cabbage
1 pound ground beef
½ can ro-tel
4 oz. Tomato sauce
½ cup onions
1 teaspoon garlic
parsley (according to your taste)
bell pepper(according to your taste)
½ cup uncooked rice


Mix raw ingredients well in a bowl. Pour into rice cooker and turn it on. Wait 10 minutes after the rice cooker’s bell rings to serve. This recipe could be doubled if you cook in a large rice cooker.

Thanks. She posted a couple of times on the last thread. She's very busy with her children so I don't know how much she'll get to post from now on. I imagine she'll get into it when we get closer to Oct 09.

I love Yankee kids! They are very cute!

We've missed Key West twice now because of hurricane avoidance. I've been there on another cruise line but I understand that Disney is the only one that is allowed to stay docked for the sunset. Guess we need to book a cruise outside of hurricane season!

I love Yankee kids! They are very cute!

We had our lifestyle pictures taken with all of us wearing those Yankee shirts. All 7 of us! People always make comments, good or bad when they see the picture in our house.

It's funny, but its no secret what a bit Yankee fan I am. As we were getting our summer clothes unpacked this spring, Elaine says to me, "Chris all of your good summer shirts are Yankee shirts." I responded, "whats wrong with that?" So next October if you see me with Yankee shirts on several days of cruise, I really will have changed them. I have I think 6 in that style. I'll count now. I have Rivera, Chamberlain, Mantle, Ruth, and Damon. I also have an A-Rod home jersey and a Bleacher Creature T-shirt I bought off Bald Vinny.

Thanks Mel! For the next cruise, I am going to buy a bigger memory stick for my camera so that I can take pictures and video.

Well, I am taking a quick break from painting. I was catching up on my wet first coat so had to slow down a bit. Back to work, or maybe I will leave earlier for lunch...
