Anyone up for some cruise talk?

Which port would be better for a beach day excursion - St. Maarten, or St. Thomas/St. John?

My parents have been to the Eastern twice and say that St. Maarten is very convenient for a beach day. That is what we are planning to do in that port. We are also renting jet skis! woohoo!

We rented jet skis once in Mexico - it was pretty fun. I was also really close to going parasailing in Mexico, but chickened out!

We went parasailing last cruise at Castaway Cay. It was fun but I don't think it was worth the $150.

I think the guy in Mexico was going to charge me $50...but that was in 2001. I still want to do it someday, but not at CC. When I'm there, I just want to enjoy the beach! :beach:

We took this cruise last year and found that St John's has the most beautiful beach and if you are traveling with children it will be your best beat because the french side of st. Martaan has nude beachs. We were traveling with our 22 year old DS and he loved it. :scared: Needless to say the sights were not all pleasent.:scared1:

We would love to have information on the jet skis. That sounds like fun!

My dad says that it is just off the ship. You take a short water taxi ride to the beach. The price for a chair is reasonable and he says it is a huge bay area that would be great to ride the jet skis around. He seems to think the prices were good as well. :thumbsup2

What all do you need? I see screen names, real names, and where we are from on page 1. What is the asterisk? We are DISers. What else?:cool1:

Typically, people have their DIS name, the adults first name, kids ages, like DD 9, DS 7, and their state of residence.

The asterisk means if you are a new addition to this group cruising. For example, I did not go on the Konch Kritter (i think thats the name) cruise last time where Verandah Man did. I have an asterisk, he does not.

Its easy enough. Cass (DIS name Timon) will also be in touch about her website that has a lot of information on it as well.

We are a friendly bunch as I am sure you have noticed. Feel free to jump in and join the conversation.

Again...Welcome aboard!

If you are planning on doing Palo's wait until after that booking window and you have all your ressies in place. If you are linked and try to get on the same time as each other it will kick you out of the system. Those of us Bobers on the EBPC learned that the hard way.:headache:

How did I blow that one??? Konk Kritter from Konk Kruisers. I must be thinking Conch Fritters! Thats all I can think of!

My bad...I had to think of someone fast to use as an example! For some reason I thought you were on KK1.

I knew some of the KK1'ers from the Cruise Board Forum and did post on the KK1 thread, just didn't make the cruise. A couple people tried talking us into sailing on that cruise, but we didn't want to take Lina out of school, besides, her Homecoming Dance was the same night that the Magic sailed out of Port Canaveral.
