Paige, I hope your family stays safe. We're thinking of them.

I saw on the scroll on Fox News that several levees have breached in LA.

not only that, there is just not a whole lot of coastline left, ya know? From what I hear, that can be rectified, but it is tied up in politics.

You figure, LA is on the wrong side of this storm. The wind is just pushing up from the south right now, right into the coast.

To top it off, high tide is in 3 hours.

I can't believe how stupid Geraldo is right now standing out on Galveston Is. as the eye is coming ashore.

Did you see when that wave knocked him down? He's crazy.

Yes, we always hope for the hurricane to hit East, because then you only get wind. Yes, they are expecting a surge between midnight and 3am, than again around 6am.

Are they suppose to have an update at the top of the hour? Just wondering if it will get Cat 3. They are saying the winds higher up are more like Cat 4 or Cat 5. It will not be good when it hits the high rises in Houston.

How close to New Orleans is your family? Are they in the city or out to the West?

150 miles west of nola. They should be fine there.

Glad to hear they will be in a safe area. Did they say how bad/fast the winds were there?

I just heard that the 12:00 CDT update came out and the storm is 600 miles across.

That is one big storm.

Well, I'm going to turn in. Have to coach football in the morning (hopefully it isn't pooring - rain moving in by the a.m., suppose to be heavy).

Paige, hope the family stays safe.

B, looks like the path is going to take it up towards StL. Stay dry.

Winds are only 30-40 mph I think. Surge will be the issue.

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. My parents have had some of their furniture removed from their house as the canal in our hometown is rising. It is still a few blocks from their house, but they are worried.

Prayers to your family...My Mom has moved her car to higher ground...

Walt

Stay safe everybody - hope you're all ok.

Hi Bob'ers!

I've been keeping tabs on yous guys,

So good to hear from you Rose:hug: ...dont stay away so long next time:hug:

Well, they've left my sister's house and gone to my brother's house which is 2 stories. The water is rising and they are expecting two storm surges tonight and early tomorrow morning. I don't think their house will stay dry. I hope my sister's house, which she just bought in June will be ok. Thankfully, they all have flood insurance.

update from my sis....water is in the street at my brother's house......His house is high so they will be fine, but I can't imagine how they must feel just watching it come up..

 they're all in my prayers:hug:

A Saturday Morning FO to Start My Day..........;)

Morning Andy,
Things any better in your house today.
Hope Lina decides what to do with career.
Got 5 more years before we have all this to go through.

Yes doing better here, "the kid" finally came around and started talking to us in a very pleasant voice around 7pm last night. I guess the shock finally wore off. We are still hoping once she speaks with the director of the massage therapy school she might have a change of heart, we just have to wait and see what happens.

Paige, sending our all best thoughts and prayers to your family and all that are being effected by Ike.

I'll be back later, time to get ready to get to Riverwinds and do my weigh-in after this mornings workout. Bye for now........:wave2:

Good morning everyone.

I hope everyone is safe from Ike!

Heading to a bday party about two hours away today.

Trying to grade some papers now, but I think Ernie is up.

Have a good one!

Hey everyone. I am just popping on trying to catch up while I wait for my ride. Yesterday was lLLLLLOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG. Out the door for 9am and didnt get home until 1am this morning.

Today should be a fun day at our Men's Fellowship Day. I just hope I have someone batting cleanup behind me this year so I don't have to run hard. Last year, the guy who batted around me hit homeruns or deep hits everytime he hit, so I just had to jog around the bases. I didn't get sore at all.

Oh well, I am starting a gym membership to get into shape on Monday...Ride is here got to go.

Yeah, we've already been advised by local officials to expect upwards of six inches of rain by tomorrow with winds gusting to 35-40mph ... that's crazy ... we're in the middle of the country (at least the last time I checked we were ... ). Folks to the south of us are looking at at 10-12 inches of rain - around Springfield and Lake of the Ozarks. We expect a lot of flooding here, too, but obviously nothing like the terrible flooding on the coast. Big difference between the remnants we're going to see here and the storm down on the Gulf Coast.

Paige, how's your family doing?
