browns win.:woohoo: :woohoo: may be the only one all year.

susan owes us a smoothie.:woohoo: :woohoo:

care to make it double or nothing later this season??:laughing:

Yep, Cleveland looked better :confused: and won The Toilet Bowl, as it was being called down here. I think I will see if Carson Palmer comes back before I take that bet!!

Just changed our Dec. ressies again. We are now Club level for both Sat and Sun night. We decided to turn in the rental car on Sat. and use Disney buses and just take ME back to the airport. This is so cool. It has been a dream to go see the decorations but to stay at WL ....well that is just the icing on the cake!

Hi All! We will be joining you for the cruise. We went on our first Disney cruise 2 years ago. Loved IT.Our group consists of Me- Tracy, DH- Tom, DS- Zac (15) and maybe DS Chris. Looking forward to getting to know everyone before the cruise.
Here is a picture from the cruise.

Tracy,

Welcome aboard! I'm Jen, and I will be travelling with DH Pete and DS Thomas, and a bunch of assorted relatives. We're going to have a lot of fun!

Here's a couple of pics of our room and our view

Looks gorgeous :goodvibes I'm torn between getting a savannah view studio or a standard value 1 bedroom. I would love the extra room and laundry but I would love for Kira to see some animals everyday :confused3

So I was going through some drawers today and found a old notebook that we used to budget and plan our trips to Florida.

Here's what I found:

September 1993 10 night trip to Orlando.

Howard Johnson's Fountain Park Plaza Hotel-Kissimmee
$38.15/night with AAA discount and Magic Kingdom Club discount = $266.70
($325.00)

Gas
$.99/gallon average = $300.00:scared1: (2400 miles roundtrip)

Food Allowance:

$55.00/day for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids):goodvibes

Spending Money
::scared1: :scared1:
$300.00

KOA campground
x 4 nights = $10.00/night = $40.00

Entire trip budget was $1520.00

Then because I was a compulsive planner way back then, I even wrote down what we actually spent.

Howard Johnson's = $328.00
Gas=$241.00
Food = $388.00
Spending Money = $255.00
KOA= $40.00

TOTAL = $1252.00

I remember we treated the kids and went to Universal for the first and last time that year because we were able to save some money during the trip. We had breakfast at Perkins EVERY morning for $2.00 each. 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon for $2.00! I also remember making sandwiches for us for lunch. Dinner was at Ponderosa because it was cheaper if we ate at 4:30 and ate off the lunch buffet. Dinner started at 5:00 and we would just sit around and wait until then for the good stuff. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sometimes we just went down to Florida and never went to any of the parks at all. We would hang around Old Town in Kissimmee every night for our entertainment. Now I can't even imagine going down there without a visit with the Mouse.

Ahhhhh, the good old days. :flower3:

Wow, that is too cool MG! I was like that too! I went in 1993 with my friend, we had just turned 21 and didn`t have a lot of money. We drove all the way down there (60+ hours) with no AC in July!!! :scared: Young and stupid I guess :lmao: We stayed at the Comfort Inn Maingate West for $42 per night. We ate either at Perkins, Ponderosa or fast food at the parks. We didn`t do a single sit down restaurant in the parks, too expensive :eek:

I could barely afford the trip and had like zero spending money but I was ok with that!! I was so happy to be there, didn`t even complain when we had to wait 1 hour+ for each and every ride, 2 hours for Back to the Future! :rolleyes: Next time back was Rob`s first trip ever in 1999.

We spend more money on each subsequent trip :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Boy you are not kidding about fast moving. My Dh's only comment about going on another cruise was to not make him wear a suit ( you know I am retired).

I don`t think we will be getting as dressed up this cruise. With the extra charges for bags, I think we will lighten up with clothes ;) We saw a lot of people who were dressed down for formal and semi-formal night and they fit right in. I think as long as you aren`t wearing jeans and tees for formal night, you will have no problem eating at the dining rooms.

Deluxe WDW hotels are a point of contention in our house. I either want to stay in the Wilderness or Contemporary, while Elaine thinks the AKL would be her first choice. The way we keep from arguing is to stay in the All Star or Pop!

Someday...Someday, I will stay in the Contemporary though.

i love this!!!!
i've kept a journal on our fla trips since 1982.
we always ate ate perkins on 192.:woohoo:
we also used to stroll around old town.:thumbsup2
early on we stayed at holiday inn, then days inn, then rodeway inn and one year we stayed at some rinky dink place called the Golden link hotel.:laughing:
ditto that... ahhh the good old days.:grouphug:
our lives are soooo similar its scary.:thumbsup2 :hippie:

Yup, that's the Perkins Mike. 192 and Poinciana Blvd. The Hojo's was the one right next to it, kitty corner from Camper's World. :thumbsup2 Everytime we are in Orlando we go through that area just for old time's sake. I think Hojo's is now a Ramada but it's pretty run down. :sad2:

The Perkins used to sell the best bakery cookies too. We would wait until shortly before closing time and run over from the hotel to get the cookies at half price. :yay:

A lot of those 192 properties have seen much better days! In 2001 I tooke 15 kids from our community to WDW and we stayed on the westside of 192 where everything was fairly new. It was nice and quiet too. The hotel was the Comfort Suites Maingate.

Hello There,

My name is Vi and I am Andy's (Verandah Man) mom. My friend Walt and I will be joining you on the B.O.B. cruise next year. This is a "surprise cruise" for Walt. I think I will be telling him about the cruise this coming April when he will be celebrating his 87th birthday. My son switched our cabins around and Walt and I will now be in Andy's old cabin #5520. Andy, Hazel and Angelina have moved next door to cabin #5522.

This is the first time I posted on the DISboards in about 1.5 years, so don't expect me to be on much. :laughing:

I had Andy send in a photo of Walt and myself to Cass so it can be included on the B.O.B. website page.

I am really looking forward to getting back on the Magic and meeting you fine people, Andy talks about you all the time.

Welcome Vi! I'm Jen, and I will be cruising with DH Pete and DS Thomas, and a whole bunch of assorted relatives. Looking forward to meeting you...it's going to be a lot of fun!

P.S. - I haven't met him in person yet, but your son is such a nice man. You should be proud:goodvibes

I know I am in the minority, but I didn't care for Pirates 2 and 3 at all :sad2: Especially 3 :rolleyes: But I think the first one is a FANTASTIC movie!!!!!

If you are in the minority, then so am I....they could have stopped at one and I would have been very happy. I did not really like 2 or 3 - the plot got WAY too complicated and erratic, and Davy Jones was just UGLY!

I didn't care for 2, but I liked parts of 3. I really liked seeing Barbossa and liked seeing him as a protagonist. I liked the transition of Elizabeth into full blown pirate.

I get the urge to watch 3 occasionally. Maybe I will watch it tonight if the Yankees/Sox game is a bore.

Howdy Folks.......:wave:

Just got back to our room here at the Ramanda, we had the "BEST" time tonight at dinner, what a real "TREAT" this has been.

For meeting everyone for the first time, it seemed like we had known each other for years.

I'll be posting pics once they are loaded, getting ready to do that now, but wanted to post this message first.

I'm sorry if I get the spelling of the names wrong. These are the pics I took tonight. Matthew has more pics on his camera that he can share, or when he sends them to me I will add them to my Webshots account.

I did take a couple of videos with Lina's camera, I still haver to load them into my laptop. I'm not sure how the videos will turn out because it was quiet dark in the Outback. If they turn out OK, I will post a link to them later.

We really did Di. The restaurant closed at 9pm, but we didn't leave to go outside until 9:20, then finally around 10pm we made our way to our cars. I think we were probably back to the Ramada before the others even got out of the Outback parking lot........:rotfl:
