Hey everybody we are back from WDW...

While I was there I found the model of our ship. Normally I would walk right past it but since now we have booked our 1st cruise I decided to stop and chat with the reps there. Now we are even more excited!!!!

Now to start thinking about excursions.........

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We just got back from WDW. DH looked at me and said, "How much longer until the cruise? I need some relaxation after that!!"

My cruise friend/DD's m-i-l, Carla, and I will be cruising. We were scheduled to cruise on the Magic on 1/30/10, but due to Carla's recent health issues we had to postpone.

This upcoming cruise will be DCL #13 for me and #3 for Carla.

I will have to go back and read all the posts on this thread soon. Lookling forward to meeting all of you.

Just booked the final leg of our WDW stay this morning with DVC. We are planning on going to the MNSSHP on Halloween. I keep telling myself it is on a Sunday, Disney limits the number of tix and it won't be crazy packed. RIGHT! We also just got our fish extender from a lady on ebay and a DISer. I sent her the fabrics and she put it together. She did a great job; she even made a little bag for it. Will post pics asap.

Dave - Welcome Back! Can't wait to see more of your pics. Where did you see the model? We are going in 2 weeks and hope to see it. Me too, I normally would walk past it.

Erica - Thank you for the Isabelle watch update! Can't wait to see pics of your little princess. We are in the midst of potty training and going from cribs to toddler beds. Of course the girls don't want any part of either. I am determined for them to be ready for preschool and Oceaneers Club. I miss sleep. Enjoy the bedrest while it last!

Kevin - My little cousins, and their team, have worked really hard doing tournaments around the country, I think once a month on weekends. They were in the Disney Sports Complex over the summer for a tournament there. They have finals in London coming up. I am not sure if they are going because of their school schedule. I hope to see them at Christmas so I can find out more. WHAT?! More Nescafe?! Yuck! Ok, so I am off to Starbucks to buy the VIA mug and packets. I took the Starbucks VIA challenge a few weeks ago and it was a little bold for my taste but good.

Did anyone catch the HGTV special yesterday on how WDW decorates the parks for Christmas in just 2 nights? That includes the Osborne Spectacle! Incredible!!

I was waiting till our cofirmation...but thought I'd toss a log on the fire as well. Someone I've worked with is a DVC Boardwalk owner. Nan and I have passed through this hotel - sneaking into Epcot via the International Gateway. well....we won't have to sneak in anymore...we have a reservation. Will be spending the two nights before the cruise at The Boardwalk. We are sooooo excited

We are planning on going to the MNSSHP on Halloween.

Depending on flights we might go before the cruise. We went to Disneyland last year and tried theirs...it wasn't too bad. A lot of kids...trying to score candy. If you're not into filling your treat bag...want to do the rides and see the parade...the crowds shoud not be too bad. I'd suggest getting their early.

Hellllllllloooooooo --- hope all is well and your catching up on your writing. My guess is...Cyber Monday...shopping ------ Erica...am I right? From your past trippies...you appear to be a great shopper.

Speaking of shopping...did anyone venture out on Thurs/Fri of last week? Anybody get any great deals. Nan and I were up before the 'crack of something'...it was dark. On T-day...Kmart was open...only about 60-70 people lining up when we arrived ~5 mins before opening. They were very organized...handing out coupons for the special sale items. We scored some great buys. Friday...was WallyWorld...wow....what a zoo. You had to cover the far corners of the store...to find a bargin here...and another...way over there. In an overview...we did fairly well. I'd say...we're about 80% finished.

OUTSTANDING!!! That sounds like a very accomplished group of young people. Disney first...then London...hmmmm...do they need chaperones? Best wishes in their competition.

My girls are working each Sunday toward their first meet - Regionals...sometime in February. Will be keeping our fingers crossed that get get invited to State. That will make me real nervous...cuz...World is at Michigan State University.

Did you say...London...as in England? Can I work with your cousins - shhh don't tell the girls.

Yup...I've tried the VIA...was not as crazy about it as you were. It tastes like an Americana...not too fond a that either. I just may break down and buy a small french press - make you a deal...you bring some fine ground coffe..we'll share.

yes...it was fantastic!! Hosted by the guy from 'Design Splash' --- David ____. Anyone...I'm hitting a blank here. Anyhoo...how incredible the task to turn the parks into a Holiday showcase. And...the size of the warehouse - WOW. I really liked the work they did on the castle - the screens of lights that match the color of the castle...so...you don't notice it till you get really close. Only Disney can think of these details. We've been blessed to see Disneyland two times during holiday times...now...we want to do the same at WDW. This special...is on another 6 or 7 times...if any are interested...I e-mailed someone that could not get home to see it. I can post - if any needs this.

Hi All!

Kevin - I pmed you her name and info. I am not crazy about the VIA either but it is better then Nescafe, in my opinion. You got it! I'll bring the coffee. Name your favorite brand. We have Dunkin Doughnuts (EVERYWHERE! Even inside our Home Depot!), Starbucks, Peet's and of course whatever the grocery stores carry. Anyone who wants to join in on the coffee club just stop by for a cup! Would love to hear what everyone is doing that day. I can tell you sand castles and ice cream will be included during our days at a port.

Yep, was at Macy's super early while the family slept. I got some fantastic deals because they applied the coupons. I love all the freebies all the stores pass out! Costco always hands out a really nice cookbook black friday. I went to the Disney store but the line to pay was LONG!

WDW has the lights on the castle all strung on a net. The net is colored the same as the castle either the blue or the sand color. Very cool! We haven't been to DL yet. I hope to someday go to all the parks around the world.

The Boardwalk is AWESOME! We stayed at the Beach Club last December - expensive but fantastic. When you check in on line a couple of days before, you can request a boardwalk view. I LOVE staying in the area just so we can slip in the back of Epcot and take pictures of the countries without anyone in the picture. DHS is a short boat ride away. It is great to be so close to 2 out of 3 parks and not have to collapse the stroller to get on the bus. It will be Food and Wine time also!

MNSSHP - like all the parks we have 2 goals, have fun and get as many character photographs/autographs as we can. Our girls are 2 and 3 so for now DH and I are just having fun watching the girls faces and trying to capture the moments digitally. I am just learning how to digital scrapbook. I am after a pic with Snow White + 7! I think it would be hilarious to have a pic/video of our girls knocking on the castle (side) door, saying trick or treat! The rides we can do any day. Candy we will get on the way out, plus I don't want to lug it on the airplane. Sometime around April-May the tix will be available. Will let everyone know when the dates are released.

Dave...you've posted some wonderful shots -- you have a talented eye. I liked AK at night...but really enjoyed the castle at night...BEAUTIFUL!! It'll take me more time to run through some more pages in your linked thread. so far...some great shots.

while we are discussing photos...am going to 'toss a log on the fire'. On our last two 'DIS - cruises', after all got home, we all put our photos on Shutterfly. This is a free service...that allows you to post albums and share photos on a password protected site. Know there are other photo sharing sites out there - and am open to suggestions...i recommend shutterfly...since you can get prints ad your local Target or mailed to your home. some of the services they offer are very reasonable. I'd be happy to set this up...if we have enough interest. Thoughts?

Been a busy few days. Nan and I had been 'kicking around' getting another dog. We put our yellow lab down quite a few years back......and did not have the heart to get another. Nan and I talked about getting a pup after the January holiday. Well...on a whim...I called a breader that put an ad in CraigsList. He explained...this 2.5 y/o lab would not breed and was not the best fit for his business. I really liked speaking with him...so...tossed caution to the wind and Nan/I went out to see him. What a wonderful breeder --- when we're ready for a pup...I know where to go. but...a few hours after we arrived...we left with ---

It's been quite an change for her --- and us. Hannah has lived all her life outdoors...in very generous kennels...with other dogs. so...we all have some adjustments and new experiences to enjoy.

We are on evening three...so far...knock on wood...no indoor accidents. It's been a little strange. You see an adult dog...that has limited indoor experiences. it's kinda like we've gotten a really big puppy.

It was our first cruise and we loved it. We can't wait to go back to Castaway Cay and see the modifications. I am keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for all of us. Is it too early for that?
