I was surprised that there was no availability on the web sit for inside room or oceanview rooms. You are correct that come June and July rooms could and most likely will open up. But if you can have room that are not close together and even maybe on different decks you can book at least two cat 7 now. Lois

I would agree that our sailing should still have availability...and suggest calling DCL again. The week prior to our sailing is Columbus Day and the week after would be the Halloween celebration. Those two weeks should be very popular.

Wishing all a wonderful New Years celebration. Does anyone have big plans or celebrate in a special way? We have been celebrating New Years with the same fantastic family for 13 or 14 years. K

Hi all, just thought I would pop in and say hi to all my fellow shipmates. Hope you all had a great Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year!!!!!

We are so excited about this cruise and meeting you all. We sure do have a large group. It should be real fun time!! :thumbsup2

ttyl....

Checked again. almost no availability. I understand that a room can open up at any time and there will likely be several opportunities between now and then. I just don't see any reason this week would be so busy this far in advance.

Hope this finds everyone well. We had a fantastic Christmas - spoiled the DD's a little too much - oh well! Hope you found some nice Disney surprises in your stocking.

I am taking some time off of work. Hate it when you have to 'use or lose' your vacation time. I wish we could bank some...it would make taking more than two weeks off for our WDW/DCL trip a little more enjoyable.

I also had to pass on going with my bride and DD's to the zoo this morning. That was a bummer. Appears...my mind is still in my 20's...but body in it's 40's. I went roller skating with DD's last night...and...well...that was a big mistake. Much earlier in my life...I played roller hockey (some ice hockey) for 10+ years. And...guess...I got a little brave on the rink. I was going pretty fast and made a quick move to avoid running over someone that fell in front of me...and...took a nasty spill. Have a pretty good gash on my - now swollen knee. Am sure it'll turn a very nasty color in a day or two. So...am enjoying some quiet and getting caught up on some reading/planning (dreaming) about our up and coming cruise/visit to WDW.

Anyhoo...as a lover of trip reports...I stumbbled across one that I really enjoyed and wanted to pass thsi along to the 'Serenity Seakers'. The below link will take you to days 0-2...and you will need to clik on 'next' for the following entries.

I really enjoyed this one. Some great information and photos of a DCL Eastern Caribbean sailing.

Hope this finds all well.

OK, we were thinking about asking taking our niece along with us on this cruise. Since we are already 5 people in a Cat 3 room we would need to have a larger room or 2 separate rooms.

I tried the DCL website and nothing came up. I called DCL and the rep told me the ship is almost full and there are only two rooms open an any category on the ship. Both are Cat 3 suites so no visibility on the website.

This seems very early for the ship to be full since it is not a holiday week and this is usually not that busy of a time of year. is there something special going on this week this year? We've cruised the last week of October for the last four years and it has never been particularly busy.

I'm sure that some rooms will open up once we get closer to paid in full date, but it still seems unusual for it to be full this early.

I booked my cruise when I was on board in Sept. 0f 09. As of today my sister & I do not have a cabin, we're on GTY. This is for cat. #5.

You have a stateroom but just have not been told which room. You may not know that until you get very close to the sail date. If you are lucky you will get an upgrade!!!

Happy New Year!!! After Midnight we can all say we are cruising THIS year!! Lois

Happy New year to you too

I'm hoping for an upgrade, as long i'm not three decks away from our parents.

I just checked the website and our cruise doesn't even pop up...hope that's ok!!

My guess is that the ship is filled up. I pulled up my reservation and it still comes up, in fact I got my cabin number. I was on GTY since I booked.

Yup our cruise seems to be full. Once we get closer some rooms will open up but it seems way too soon for the ship to be full. I tried to pull it up because I thought it might have been just the number of kids in a certian age but it does not pull up for a request for just two adults.

For those who have not cruised on a full ship there is no need to worry. DCL does the best. The only down side is it will be very hard to upgrade at port if you had hoped for a deal. Also changing Dining rotation will be more difficult. The last issue is getting ressies for Palo will be more difficult but it can be done so not to panic. It will be an aweson cruise!! Maybe they have something planned that we do not know about.

Just checking in...catching up...9 months 3 wks today till we cruise!!!!

we originally booked a cat 7 (slept 3 ppl) talked my sister and her daughter into joining us and had to upgrade to cat 4 - NOT complaining actually - as that puts us on the 8th deck!!! but this all took place 2 months ago - so ship was really filled up then!!!

She's here! I'm still trying to get used to having a newborn in the house. I assume it takes more than 2 1/2 weeks, right? ;) Anyhow, miss Isabelle Faye was born 12/17/09 at 6:44 pm. Mind you, they started my induction around 11 pm on 12/15/09. Longest labor ever. But totally worth it!

Here she is:

Isabelle Faye was 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 19 inches long. She did NOT want to come out! But after a long wait, it is truly wonderful having her here. Even when she wakes me up at 3 am. And again at 5. And then once more at 7. lol

I'm off for about 7 more weeks, so I may be using some of that time to catch up on everything I've missed. Plus.....gotta start researching and making plans! Excel spreadsheets! Colored tabs for my passporter! :rolleyes1 Whut?

I realized I never posted the nursery pics, so I'll see about getting a few up here while "Daddy" is holding the baby girl. :goodvibes

CONGRATULATIONS to the new family - Isabelle is BEAUTIFUL.

If you’re accepting applications for baby sitters...please put us on the sign up sheet. Both Nan and I will be need a baby girl fix...after leaving our three at home.

Please ask Lionel...what’s the name of his sorority? Mine is...’Man who desperately needs an undetached man shack...with high speed, big screen and a bathroom’.

Our best to you all --- again, congratulations.

My guess is that this ship is booking fast as it's the first eastern caribbean cruise since the spring as the Magic will be in Europe all summer, and it's the second week post dry dock.

Soo cute.

Hey, y'all, it's been a crazy several months, but it is time to get this cruise on the front burner! Couple of questions:

1. Is anyone in charge of the fish extender group?

2. Where is everyone staying the night before we leave port, and how much are you paying?

We're getting more and more excited!

Hi all! My husband talked me into going to WDW instead, so now our room is available - its a category 6 balcony - I'm bummed to miss the cruise and meet all of you in person, but I'm sure I'll see some of you on a future booking!! Happy New Year!!

Sorry to lose you but at least you still get to go to WDW. We will just need to catch you another time. Lois

We plan to stay at The Counrty Inn & Suites at the port for two nights before the cruise. Lois

Hello! :hippie:
I will be on this cruise along with my sister, nephew and his wife. We are leaving our husbands and kids at home! (kids are college/high school and can't take the time and our hubbies, who have cruised DCL twice, said they needed a break from Disney!) :scared1:

My nephew and his new bride got engaged just before our last cruise in Oct. '08. They married this past October so will be celebrating their first anniversary.:lovestruc

I have been on 3 DCL cruises - all eastern itineraries. Can you tell I like the eastern?:thumbsup2

Congratulations on new baby, glad to see some new cruisers...and some seasoned vets. :cool1:

We are attending the Food and Wine Festival pre-cruise (BCV) and will be at the Residence Inn the night before we sail. It will be our 3rd stay there. We all enjoy our wine and look forward to lots of adult time!!!:thumbsup2

Heading down to WDW this Saturday - staying at the GF - NOT running the marathon! :rotfl2: Hope to get to know all of you....
