Our family just returned from this cruise and our looking forward to next year already, Oct 23 - 30th, 2010. This will be our 5th Disney Cruise. I am a mother of 4, well actually one is my husband, he is my biggest kid. I am new to Disboards and was wondering how long it took you to really get aqcuanted with all this. I am feeling a little overwhelmed at this point.

Welcome aboard to all the new folks!

We gave my husband a Nikon D40 (I think) with two lenses for Father's Day - he loves it! And I'm sure he'd love to participate in any photo shots onboard - he takes it everywhere we go now and I keep telling him that we'll have tons of photos but no one will believe he was there because he isn't in any of the shots...he's always behind the lens!! And I can barely use it...as long as it is on "auto", I'm fine.

So happy to be past the 1-Year hump!!

Brenda, which Alaska cruise did you guys book? Lionel came home from our friend's wedding cruise (which I was too pregnant to go on, *sniff*) with an Alaska cruise for us! I know we are doing one in August but I can't remember the exact date.

I'm still kind of bopping in and out. Busy with work, writing (trying to keep busy) and finishing up all of the projects we have before the baby arrives. WHICH, I might add, everyone seems to be trying to scare me about. Seems like every day I get another horror story about babies coming 6 weeks early. I'm due in 7. PANIC! Overplanners cannot have babies come 6 weeks early! It is bad for the general order of the universe!

And I had intended to get the nursery pics ready and uploaded but time seems to be getting away from me. I have them all on facebook (feel free to add me) and this is supposedly a public link anyone can get to, even if they are not a facebook member. It shows the transition of both my belly and the nursery from normal to gigantic and from blue horror to Classic Pooh respectively. Hopefully this works:

Welcome to all our newcomers. I am jealous I'd love to do the Alaska cruise. But we are thinking of saving after this next cruise and try to get to Hawaii for the next big vacation. We have friends moving there so we might have to line that up with the opening of the DVC resort there. I can't remember when they expect that completed.

Hi, Erica, I am so jealous of you right now. How exciting preparing for a new baby. I am sure that she will come when she is good and ready and not a moment before.

The Alaska cruise that we are going on is August 30, 2011. That is my DH's birthday which is why I chose that day. It would just fantastic if you are on that cruise as well.

Also, want to send a big hello to Paul from Chardon! I grew up in Leroy Township, and we go to a little diner called Nifty Fifty that I think is in Chardon. I've been gone from home for 20 years now, so I get a little mixed up on where things are, but my mom still lives there and will be joining us for this cruise. Welcome aboard!

OK, OK, so my geography is a little off. The diner is in Madison, not Chardon. LOL It's been a long time since I had to know the difference. My mom still lives in Leroy Township, and she'll be driving down much earlier than the day we leave port. We have lots of family members to get from the airport to the port, so it will be cheaper to ferry them over ourselves.

We are having a family reunion on this cruise, so we're looking forward to a wonderful time!

Hi Gang I have been away because my family has been going through alot. since our summer Vacation.
Our oldest sons wife asked him for a Divorce. She moved out when he was at work first she called me to ask if the kids could spend a few hours with me because she needed to do something. She never came back just called him at work and told him she filed for the Divorce. With this and the tail spin of other issuses with our son. He said he would not be able to go next year. But really wants to go on Vacation with his kids so we are thinking 2011 things should be all figured out, and we will have time to adjusted to our new roles. My daughter in-law is slowley seeing the kids less and less. I have a feeling she will be a Mom that just walks away. My son was totaly blindsided by this because he thought they had a happy marriage. The worst part is she had moved on months ago but just now came clean.
We have had to really step up and help with the grandkids.
I have asked my TA to check on prices for 10/22/2011. If they are fair enough we will switch otherwise we are going to sit tight and see what happens. I just wanted to share since Brenda was kind of enough to give us her SPH room. Brenda please let me know if you want it back. I will let you all know what we end up doing next week.

Well I wanted to update that I switched us to May 29th 2011 on Dream ship. Sorry we wont be sailing with this group. Please have fun. I had fun getting to know you all.
