10/23/11 - Disney Dream

So awesome!!! My friend and her family are boarding her right now!!!

Just think, we are on the next sailing!!! :cool1:

Thanks all for the webcam Real nice.. I think dsnydaddy is getting on the ship today Also,, He will have the inside scoop for us B2b when it is our turn..

9A is an Oceanview, 9D is an obstructed Ocean View. We booked (like 2 years ago) using points for a 9A.

Huhh you would have thought they would have known that at 1st,.. If you are going to meet at the Dis meet at 3:30.. Please tell what the Obstruction is... I am intrigued...

This time sunday I'll have been on the ship for a good 3 hours already:woohoo:

HecK on Sunday the Mickey Bar Party will just be starting..

Of course this game is fun to play just stopping at the 23rd where it gets ugly is when you look forward to the following Sunday.. the 30th.. I figure by now they will have found where my hiding place is and be escorting me off the ship :guilty:

on the 30th I'll be home already recovering from the food and wine festival and my birthday:eek:

We head home on the 1st, and then I have two LONG days of waiting before Texas Bar Exam results. :scared1: Needless to say, I really need this vacation. :woohoo:

Hope the results are good

After we get back it will less then a 100 days till our ruby princess cruise out of Ft.Lauderdale I see Lulu's in my future:yay:

See you all (or at least your fish extenders) soon! I'm not sure we'll make the DIS meet, since our daughter is 8 months old and will hopefully be taking her nap as soon as we can get into our cabin. But our fish extender gifts are packed, and I hope you all enjoy them-- they are cute, useful, Halloween-themed, and appropriate for all ages. :)

Leaving for Orlando tomorrow! Harry Potter on Saturday, Dream Sunday through Thursday, MNSSHP Thursday night, Epcot Friday (including evening babysitter while we do F&W with grownup friends), Animal Kingdom next Saturday, and back here next Sunday.

That's not that bad...when I took the NY bar exam we got the results at midnight on the night before Thanksgiving. Imagine knowing that you'll have to face your family for one of, if not THE biggest holiday of the year, right after getting the results (good thing I passed the 1st time around so Ionly had to go through that craziness once!)

Good Luck to you!

It's not even that I care THAT much, it's just I don't like them acting like they don't know what I'm talking about...

Sorry, I'm just irritated that I'm having DVC Member Services issues this close to our arrival.

I can understand your frustration, but I wouldn't expect anything from DVC regarding the downgraded rooms. What are they gonna do refund you 6 points? What would you do with them, they are already converted points, can't use them for a DVC resort, can't bank them:confused3

I am going to be honest with you every time I have tried to figure out the vacation club.. Well to be honest it makes my head explode..

So let me ask a simple question..

- Family of 4 maybe 3 in the next few years..
- Takes at least one Disney Cruise a year, Usually in October maybe September..
- Sometimes goes to Disney world.. for a few days, Sometimes a week.. No Set time..

- So like would it pay to become a vacation club member??? :confused3

If you would use it primarily for cruising I don't think it's worth it. The best value is using it for the DVC resort stays.

From the 2013 point charts a 7 day on the Fantasy in Sept/Oct is 190 points per person for the first two in a category 7 balcony, additional guest in the room 13 and over is 127 points, plus a $95 fee. When booking with points it virtually impossible to switch cruises if something comes up. Only a certain number of cabins can be booked by DVC. Prior to 2013 opening all available 2012 cruises had been booked for months. I booked this cruise back in Feb 2010 and there was a lot of availability so I'm not sure if booking cruises with DVC has become more popular or if they have restricted the number of available rooms more.

Everything is packed and suitcases are by the door. The house has been cleaned so well it sparkles :cool2: Sitting here sipping a glass of wine before bed. Tomorrow afternoon we leave for the airport. We are spending the night close to the airport then Saturday we fly! I thought this day would never get here. I am so excited. My 4 yr old DGS has been looking forward to this trip for so very long. We told him a year and a half ago and he has been so patient. If I don't have time to check in tomorrow. I will see y'all at Fishlips, the Rif Raf party :mickeybar and/or the DIS meet. I hope everyone has a very safe trip. See ya real soon! :mickeyjum

Okay, so we're officially packed! But....I have a question for you guys. My DD (who'll be celebrating her 5th birthday) wants to take all of her princess dresses on the cruise so she can take pictures with each princess wearing each dress. My question is if this is normally done? Of course I know that some girls do indeed bring one dress, but she wants to bring all 6 of them (Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Tiana, and Rapunzel--although I told her I didn't think Rapunzel was on the ship).

Would we be looked at like we're crazy switching between gowns so she can take pictures with the princesses while wearing the matching gown?:goodvibes

During the princess meet you wait in one line then see all the princesses. She would have to change in the atrium in front of everyone. I think there is more than one princess meet and greet, so maybe she could wear a different dress to each one? I don't believe snow white is on the ship either. I am sure there are others with more knowledge of this...

We are packed!! Woo Hoo!! I am embarrassed with the number of bags we have, but one is just filled with FE gifts!! One of the other threads was complaining about FE gifts and the extenders themselves getting stolen on a cruise earlier this month. Make sure you check your pockets often! Hopefully if we zip tie the extenders down, they will remain in place :)

Can only girls get in on this.. For one cruise, I am thinking of bringing my Tux and getting a picture with each Princess. Would it be out of place for a 47yr old to wait for his chance of a picture? :)

She would be fully dressed under the gowns. It'd be a simple pull off and put on the next one. I'd hate to tell her and then see other other little girls doing so. Maybe I'll bring them just in case. We do have an nearly empty suitcase that we're checking so space is not a problem.

We leave tomorrow! So excited!!!
