10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Wonder if anyone on those ships get any compensation for not leaving...

From what was posted on the cruise boards it sounded like they wouldn't miss anything, just scrambled their itinerary; sea day today, Nassau tomorrow and CC on Wednesday.

For those going to Fishlips on Saturday to watch the Magic, how will we spot each other? Do we wear Disney garb? When we have done meets before cruises on other cruiselines we usually all wear leis or beads or something.

Any thoughts?

That's a good question. Maybe if someone knows the layout at Fishlips we could meet at a certain spot or tell the hostess we are there to meet a DIS group and let them point out the other's location. I like your idea of beads or leis too.

Oh Goodness.. I knew as we get closer to the sail date and people would not be able to control themselves and the Dancing Bananas would start to come out.. well dog gone it can you blame them.. :confused3

No need to stoop so low folks. There are plenty of more appropriate emoticons to choose from. party: :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2::jumping1::mickeyjum

WOW.. Now that was Festive and visually toe tapping.. That Mickey head does know how to put a happy bounce in a sentence.

But it did take a nest of happy little critters to beat that dancing banana...

Let's see if these work.

:sad2:DIS board doesn't let me copy and paste anything:sad2:

I found all kinds of fun dancing critters and they work on my other board, but not here, and none of them were bananas either:thumbsup2

Go to Home Depot and pick up a lime green Mickey head from the Disney color sample section in the paint department. Free for the taking.

This Mickey head has been used by many DIS meets in the past.

Last time I had one on I just put a safety pin through the paper backing and attached it to the front of my jacket.

Enjoy your meet and greet at Fishlips.

I love the element of surprise on the Fish Extenders. Just coming back to the cabin and wondering if there is something waiting for me!

That is a good question. Same goes for the 3:30 meet-- how do we recognize each other.

How about we post pictures of us? :) too make it a little easier to recognize everyone..... :confused3

I like the idea of the line green Mickey heads from Home Depot too. I can pin them on my purse or something.

As far as Fishlips, the upstairs area is all seat yourself. (at least it was in January) So maybe the first person there can grab a table big enough for everyone. (We'll get a count of everyone in a week or so) I don't know, let me think about this one.

I'm thinking at fishlips I'll wear my Grumpy shirt from disney to help out and maybe my minnesota twins hat??:stitch::stitch::stitch::stitch2::stitch2:

Hopefully I've posted the picture correctly! But here is my family at Disney World in December 2010. I'm pretty sure we won't make the meet at Fishlips since our flight doesn't get in til 5:30 on Saturday. BUt we'll be at the meet on the cruise!:cool1:

Oh and just in case you wanted to know, our DD will be celebrating her 5th birthday on October 27th, not her 4th as stated in the spreadsheet. And also, we have late dining:thumbsup2

Only 12 more days til we set sail!!:dance3:::cheer2::dance3:

Another october birthday mines the 28th

Well, I have had an interesting development. On Sunday, I went for my 6.5 mile walk/run as I am training for the 1/2 marathon at WDW in January. My left foot was very tight throughout & was really hurting afterwards, but then eased off until 12:30am when I awoke in intense pain. Went to ortho yesterday & I have a stress fracture in my left foot. :sad2: The ortho recommended not traveling because I cannot weight bear for at least 3 weeks & will be in a boot, crutches & some pain. :headache:
I called DVC this morning since we are cruising on points & since we don't have travel insurance  (might be doing this from now on), we would loose like 50% of our points for the 1st cruise & 75% on the 2nd cruise. I asked about just moving it forward until Nov/Dec but that is a no go either, so much as I figured, we will be sailing. I am happy & sad at the same time if that make sense. I have been so looking forward to these back to back cruises but if we could have made it work, of course I would have preferred cruising with a healthy foot & without mobility challenges. BUT, we will make the best of it & still have a wonderful cruise. We will just rent a wheelchair so that I don't have to wear myself out on crutches the whole time. Had to cancel our dolphin excursion :sad1: & I won't be able to do the Castaway Cay 5K like I was planning, but the rest of what we have planned should work.

Anyhoo, enough about that........
Here we are in May on Cali Grill observation deck for recognition purposes, although I guess now it will be even easier to recognize me since I'll be in a w/c or on crutches.
We will be at Fishlips & try to be at the meet on board as well.

My DH bday is the 24th & mine is the 31st which will be our travel day home.

Sorry to hear about your foot wish things could work out better for you but I bet you'll still have a great time

Ouch that stinks, but on the bright side, Your foot will hurt no matter where you are, so at least on the cruise it will hurt in style...:goodvibes

These group photos are so confusing, are you the couple in the Middle with the two kids, or are you the couple on both sides of the family with the two kids???

Because if you are the guys on the outside, I saw you last year on the cruise..

:goodvibes
