We are booked on the Dream 10/23 for our first cruise (Grandma, my daughter, 2 grandchildren dd10 and ds8) excited beyond words...hoping to learn as much as I can from this site

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend, we visited the cemetary on Saturday and watched racing on Sunday. I still haven't made it to the new Pirates movie, hopefully soon.

I have been reading about the FE....this sounds like something my grandkids would love to do...we are all first time cruisers, so this is all new to us...can anyone join this group and how do you know when and to whom to deliver gifts....

It really is fun. My DH and I did this for the first time last October and had a blast with it. I enjoyed it so much, I volunteered to organize it for this cruise and the Transatlantic cruise that we're on in September.

Start by reading the FE threads in my post above. The FE Basics thread explains it pretty well. If you want to join, send me a PM with the info requested (also in post above) and I'll add you to the list.

You deliver your gifts any time during the cruise, no later than the afternoon of the last day (to give everyone time to pack up). It's also a good idea to wait a bit on the first day to let everyone get their FE's out. You deliver to everyone on the list. It's your choice if you want to give a gift to each individual in a stateroom or just do a single gift for everyone in the stateroom to share. We may split the list, in which case you would only deliver to about half of the group, depending on how many people sign up. That will be decided closer to the sail date.

If you want to get an idea of how many people/rooms there are so far, refer to the list in my previous post. It's mostly up-to-date (one other person has signed up since I posted it).

Feel free to ask questions, either here or via PM. It's likely others will have the same questions.

I ordered a custom Fish Extender yesterday. I let the kids pick out the Mickey heads and background colors for their pockets. I'm pretty excited about it!

Where did you order your FE from? (Can we post that here?) The ones I saw were all pre-made. My girls would love to be able to pick colors and mickey heads.

Do a search for fish extenders on Etsy or Ebay. I ordered mine from Etsy, she ic very very busy and has about a 2 month backlog, so order the earlier the better. I am not sure if I can say her name, so send me a PM if you want it.

Life is busy! I can't wait to cruise. We had a tornado on May 25 and are trying to figure out what to do next to start putting our house back together. Some stuff I ordered for FE gifts just came so that made me feel really good. Only 4 1/2 more months to go.

Wow! One thing I don't miss about the midwest. Of course we to have to weather the occasional earthquake.

I got mine from EBay. There were some nice ones on Etsy, too, but my kids picked the EBay seller because she made it easy to mix and match Mickey heads and background colors. She was very nice! I don't have the final product yet (I told her no rush since the cruise is in mid-October). She had some design suggestions that she thought would look nice.

wow..just had a chance to look at earlier post...had know idea...wish I had known about this when I booked this cruise last summer...what a wonderful way to plan for my first cruise. taking my daughter and grand children on this wonderful trip (2 days at Pop befor and 4 more days at POFQ after...So glad to neat all of you

Wow, scary! But at least you are okay. Things can be replaced, but not people.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes re: the tornado. We are very lucky. There were only minor injuries in our county and DH and I were both ok. We were sitting on the floor of an interior hall.
The cruise gives us something to look forward to. I can't wait to meet everyone and am so very excited about the FE exchange. I love to give gifts!

Hello everyone and welcome to all new crusiers. Haven't been around in a while and wanted to drop by and see what's happening.

Sinderelly...So sorry to hear about the tornado and glad that everyone's ok. And here I am feeling kind of sheepish after sweating it out when a tornado hit Massachusetts. We live thirty some odd miles away from where it hit but I can't begin to imagine what everyone is going through.

Thanks so much Pat, for the updated FE list. I can see that our group is growing. My family really had a great time with this last December and we're looking forward to it.

I've been going through threads, food porn, navigators, DCL pic of the day and menue's. Getting so excited for this cruise. DH is already talking about booking one for next year.I've created a monster. Take care all.
