10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Regarding the FE,,,the cut-off date should be a MINIMUM OF 30 DAYS PRIOR TO CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!People need time to think about gifts, then time if they are making them..

I, of course,,am going nuts buying stuff, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! The before the cruise planning is almost more fun than the actual cruise!!!!!!!! I have so many ideas for FE stuff, I hope my pocketbook holds out!!!!!!!!!!!

The FE doesn't need to be expensive, let your creative juices flow. A thing I do is to check Target and Walmatrs clearance price small gifts, I have found really good stuff really cheap!!!!

I have gone to ETSY for the FE and pillowcases. If ordering a FE on either ETSY or EBAY, give whoever is making them about 2 mos to make them. DON'T PROCASTINATE!!!!

So is this a vote for Sept 1? ;)

I second the vote. September 1st seems reasonable and will give the FE group time to get things together.:thumbsup2

Who's going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie this weekend? I think I'll wait until the holiday weekend to see it.

We'll probably see it Memorial Day weekend. I don't think our babysitter is available this weekend!

Took my 16 year old niece, my 14 year old nephew and a friend of my niece's to the 12:01AM showing at a local theater. It was packed. I accidently fell asleep around 11 (yup! tried all night to take a nap and ended up falling asleep 10 minutes before I wanted to leave!!!). I did wake up in time to pick them up and get to the theater (and even get snacks) but it was hard to find a spot and we ended up in the second row! :scared1:

Jack (as always) was very funny! It kept my attention (without my falling back to sleep) so it was pretty good. Not necessarily my favorite (that goes to the first) but not a waste of money.

I save up all my Disney movies for the year and watch them on the cruise ship, It one of the great pleasures I save for the cruise.. After all they are "Free" on the cruise... :lmao:

I totally understand:3dglasses I think on average I go to less than one movie per year in the theater:thumbsup2 But I'm thinking this one warrants a trip to the theater, maybe only because I'm booked on my first Disney cruise this fallpirate:

I will update the list periodically. Around August, we can decide if we want to split the list or leave it.

Shortly after Sept 1, I will post the final list(s). If anyone wants to join after that, it should be with the understanding that they will need to provide gifts for everyone (or each cabin) on the list, though they may not receive gifts from everyone who signed up before the deadline.

I prefer to leave it up to the individuals to decide if you'd rather give a gift to each person in each cabin, or just a single cabin gift. Same with when you deliver them. There was a suggestion on the WBTA of assigning days to deliver, which was quickly over-ruled by the majority. We're on vay-cay, after all!

Please remember I will be away from Sept 6 to Sept 26 and may not be able to access the DISboards or email during that time. (Love DCL, but not their on-board Internet rates. )

I ordered a custom Fish Extender yesterday. I let the kids pick out the Mickey heads and background colors for their pockets. I'm pretty excited about it!

We will be on this cruise! I'm not sure if we will do the FE exchange yet, as it is all new to me! Cruising in my family are: myself- Lindsay, DH- Jeff, DS- Teddy(12), DD- Jaida(8), DS Bryce(4) but will be turning 5 on Halloween. Also with us are my parents, Teddys Dad and his girlfriend, and my sister-in-law and her family DD(11) and DS(8). We are getting so excited!

I guess I will look a little more into the FE before I decide if we will exchange

We're at the less than 5 month mark:woohoo:

Read the FE Basics thread in my post above. That will give you an idea of how it works. We did this for the first time on our last cruise and really enjoyed it. My DH was like a little kid - both when we distributed our gifts and each time we came back to our room to find a little surprise.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about this! You can also PM your questions to me if you prefer.

It feels so good to see that ticker go down...under 5 months now!
We just got back on the 14th from a trip to the world to celebrate our anniversary. It was hot! I hope October weather is good for all of us. We are doing 4 nights at BLT following the cruise. I am starting to plan my FE gifts and am so excited. Is it too early to start packing? :rotfl:
Happy planning everyone!

Welcome to our group!!!

I hope I am not crossing any lines but I just have to give you props! I couldn't imagine being in the same room with the father of my oldest much less on the same boat. :goodvibes Good for you that you can get along like that!!!

No lines crossed! Lol. I know that its kind of weird but we actually get along really well, just not as a married couple:confused3 It also helps that we both really like eachothers significant others. It's so nice for our son who gets to be with both of his parents on such a special vacation! Thanks for the props!!
