Just an update-my dh has adenocarcinoma, stage 2-possible 3, we will know more info after more tests...please pray that the cancer has not spread!

My last cruises at Easter I was able to get my desired times for both when I booked as a Gold Castaway, so I am optimistic. Also still considering a cabana on Serenity Bay but not sure of the cost for just 3 of us....would like to find others to share but has not seemed to be much interest.

i'm hoping to book a cabana, but we wouldn't be interested in sharing...
they're not that big.....they only have two lounge chairs, so i don't know how people go about sharing cabanas....i know people do, but i haven't figured out how they manage to....

anyway, we would be spending the vast majority of our time in the cabana, so it would be very difficult to share with another family...(and i've never been very good at sharing!! )

i still haven't made up my mind as to whether to try for serenity bay or the family beach cabanas.....i'm going nuts trying to make a decision..
and D-Day is almost here.....tomorrow night (or saturday morning)....
gotta decide...

and i'm not sure about remy/palo yet either..

i hate being the designated planner!!!

oh - regarding the spa - i don't do any spa things on the ship....or anywhere else for that matter...so i guess i save a bundle that way!!

Dear DIS famiy;

We unfortunately have too cancel our cruise, DH has been diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 35. It does not look operable, so they team of doctors are going to do aggressive radiation/chemo. Please pray or send good thoughts our way and I will be sending good weather and calm seas your alls way!

i've set 4 alarms on my iphone to make sure i'm awake....
so hopefully i will be awake...
and hopefully the computer connection will work..
and hopefully i'll be able to get into my reservation..
adn hopefully the system will let me book..
and hopefully i'll remember how to book...

while my mom and i would definitely enjoy it, my sister wouldn't....not the food and not the 3 hours...so why put her through that...

3 hours is a long time for dinner. Is Palo the same or would it be shorter?

3 hours isn't long at all when you're enjoying a tasting menu....
and they'll speed it up for you if you like (to 2 or 2.5 hours i think)...
but 3 hours is necessary to be able to eat so much food..

palo is much shorter....palo is like any reasonably good restaurant in any city in the world...the amount of time it would take you to eat dinner in any normal upscale restaurant is how long it takes to eat in palo.......

I was concerned about the 3 hours for the dining time too but everything was so good that it just zoomed by and I was all alone so there was not a lot of conversation going on.

The food is fantastic and the portions are just the right size to allow you to enjoy it but not become overly full while you have many courses. And the service is impeccable. I am sorry to hear that you wont go because it is the farthest thing from a torturous evening.

all the SB cabanas are gone now....i just looked...all 3 are booked..

and there are about half of the FB cabanas left - actually the ones i consider to be the better numbers are still left.... (all of them up to #9 are still there..)

if we change our mind about remy, we can probably still get the reservation on board....i've heard that it doesn't sell out..

It is 6 30 am here and a Saturday for me begs for a little extra sleep. Where are you if it is already 7 30? I did not realize you were on my side of the world.

when i look at it - at the bottom it shows all the cabanas that are sold out...
i shows cabanas 18 and 20 at the bottom as sold out, but not 19...
that one shows as still available....but that's because i have that one reserved....correct?

Yes that is correct. Don't panic. I did the exact same thing and the remembered seeing the same phenomenon last spring regarding my Palo Brunch reservations. People kept saying that nothing was available while it kept showing availability to me. So I realized that it is a little glitch in the booking system.
