Thursday we took my 2 year old to SeaWorld. I was with her Granny (62yo). We ate at the Cracker Barrel near the airport, and then got to the park around 9:30. $8 to park, and "Granny" has a handicap sticker, so we parked close to the entrance.
I used my SouthWest Rapid Rewards card for 20% off. This made my ticket $51. "Granny" got her ticket online, she's a Florida residant, not sure what she paid, baby girl got in free. No birth certificate needed, they use the honar system.
It was HOT! 90 or so degrees. We walked in and went to the dolphin swim. After that, we walked towards Artic wild. I carried the baby girl awhile, and she walked awhile. Didn't bring a stroller. Only a small diaper bag that was actually a cooler that I picked up at KMart. It cost around $8 and was tall and thin, not the wide small kind. This held diapers, wipes, digital camera and a few snacks. (it also protected the camera from any water)
No line at Artic wild (arond 1040am) The polar bears really didn't move alot, and it was hard to see them because the blended into the rocks. The walrus was cool when you walk downstairs and can see how big he was. It was a comfortable cool inside, and a nice break from the heat. We didn't "ride" the ride, we just sat thru the movie before the bears, etc.
After Artic,we made our way to Shamu's stadim. It was close to 11, and a line had formed. We waited a few minutes, and then they opened up seating. We went to the splash zone, but around 14 rows up. Thought we'd get wet, but didn't. Hind site it was for the best, because the people closer got soaked. It looked like they took showers in their clothes. So I'm glad it worked out that we didn't get soaked.
After Shamu, we headed for some food. On our way out, noticed a long line had formed for Artic. (I'm glad we didn't have to wait, because I proabably would have been dissapointed.) Now it was around 1210pm, and still hot. It looked to me that most dining was "outside" from what we past, and we needed to get cooled off. The baby girl was getting sleepy, but not fussy. I stopped by and got ice cream and a drink, we sat and ate. Then went to Shamu's souveniers. Didn't buy anything because babygirl thought it was more fun to throw the stuff animals on the floor. So I knew it was time to head to the car and let her get a nap on our way to Port St. John.
Thats what we did.
So we really only saw 1/4 of the park!
Hind site, I could have went on priceline and got a hotel that was close to the park, or Orlando let the baby get a nap, and come back and see Pets Ahoy and anything else.
Oh well, there's always a next time, maybe.
I'm just killing time at work, so thought I'd write about our trip so others can see how it went for us.
