10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

:thumbsup2 yup but everything you bring on board - you carry with you where ever you go on the ship until your cabin becomes avail to you at 1:30 or so....

Dont worry to much about dressing for dinner on the first night - everyone knows that there are delays in getting luggage to the rooms. On our very first cruise we did not get our bags until after 8pm but on the 2nd one the luggage beat us to the room :rotfl:

Sonia

I figured people wouldn't get too upset if our luggage hadn't arrived and we couldn't change for dinner.

Well dern - we just might stay close to the ship that day and enjoy the roaming around :rotfl:

I think that's what Alex and I are doing that day. We have our Palo dinner early that night, so we wanted to just spend the morning there for a few hours.

2139 is our cabin number for Momtylerashley...DH Jeff, DW Renee, DS Tyler and DD Ashley.

Also, how much again for the pom poms and how much do we owe for those?

Brain is turing to mush...can't remember anything. Too much information!

Reneeprincess:

Hellllloooo Renee, You have 1 red and 1 black pom pom for a total of $1.26

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Alex will be very happy to hear he can bring his backpack as a carry on.

This doesn't affect you because you are not flying, but I learned the oddest thing about backpacks and TSA: if it has a laptop in it, it magically is transformed from a carry-on to a personal item.

I always consider my backpack a personal item (of course it pretty much always has my laptop in it) because I stick it under the seat in front of me rather than in the overhead bins, so is a backpack usually considered a carry on? Strange, and makes me happy to have short legs!!!!

Funny story, I was on a flight once for work with the men's basketball team from Dusquaine (sp?) University. I mean these poor guys were all like 6'6"!!! :scared1: They were super nice, and I was seated in the middle between two of them, they helped me put my suitcase overhead (true carry-on) and once we all sat down chatted about how they were doing and my kiddos. As we're taking off and the poor guys were shifting around trying to find some way to sit without eating their knees, I mentioned with a laugh, "Wishing you were short like me right about now huh?". They cracked up. I even went over to their trainer in the airport after the flight to tell him how much I enjoyed sitting with his players and how nice and polite they were. He was really appreciative, they don't hear that much I guess...

 Looks like I may have come to the wrong conclusion about TSA, or they changed their policy again since last I read it. This is from the currnet TSA rules on carry-ons:

Carry-on baggage is a small piece of luggage you take onboard the airplane with you. You are allowed one carry-on in addition to one personal item such as a laptop computer, purse, small backpack, briefcase, or camera case.
As I read it, they will call anything that fits through the scanning machine as a carry-on but they point out that carriers may have different restrictions.

My original point may have come from Southwest's carry-on policy:
Personal-type items include purses, briefcases, cameras, food containers, or laptops (case included).

And now for something completely different. The spectacular collapse of my beloved Red Sox means there is no chance of watching them play on this cruise.:sad1: Best of luck to my fellow cruisers who's team still have a chance!

Alex and I were going to try and see Real Steel next weekend, but since it'll be on the cruise, we'll get to save our money for more cruise purchases. :thumbsup2
I've seen everything but African Cats, Winnie the Pooh, and The Help. Want to read the book before I see that movie, but the others I'm looking forward to watching.
Alex is a big movie buff, so we'll probably catch some of these again.

Whoo Hoo! :cheer2:Duh! You think I would have noticed this when I got the FE gifts together! Funny. :confused3

I so can't wait....My husband and I are FINALLY going to be along tomorrow afternoon...so we can get the things together for the cruise. So much to do and so little time! :worship:

Yikes!

princess:

You all are OUR neighbors, too!!!!! We're 2132 and The Kebede's are 2134! ;)

I'm really shocked that they aren't going to show the Lion King...3D!

So...does this mean they show all these movies throughout the day or each one at particular day/night?

Renee

You'll have to check your navigator for the different times. Your stateroom host will leave it on your bed for the next days activities. This is where your highlighter comes in handy :)

Lion King in 3D is only released for a 2 week engagement to lead up to the DVD release. Many, myself included, hoped they might stretch that release a bit longer on the ships, but it doesn't look like it.

Looking at the old Navigators, it looks like they play movies almost all day and night, starting earlier on the Key West and at-sea days.

You'll also get a movie guide the first day that shows when all of the movies are playing and what day/time, I can't remember if that includes the Ariel View television or not...

Will there be any extra bands if someone wants one?

No, I was going to order some extras to get us up to 50, but we went flying by that and so I just ordered enough for everyone who placed an order.
