10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

:banana:Good news! The Gondolieri di Palo are ON! Here is what I found in my e-mail:

My wife and the dogs are all looking at me strangely now, since I have been running around the house, flailing my arms, and singing they yodel part of the dwarves' Work Song!!! I think I will go lie down in a dark room for a bit...

:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

AWESOME!!!!!!! :wizard: Thanks for getting the gathering HANS!!!!!

We'll do 4 on the pom poms. I don't have a preference on the color. So excited!

We should all head up to the 10th deck for sail away party. My favorite part of the cruise... the countdown then the "when you wish upon a star" and the cast members with the mickey hand waving goodbye!

Great idea.. we've been on both decks and prefer the 10th deck, just easier on not getting squished out on the floor. And we can wave back with our :cheer2: pom poms!!!!!

does anybody hve any experience shipping a package to the ship? I was planning to send one with the FE stuff on it and other things i dont wanna bother with while at wdw. DF thinks im overplanning and overpacking. But that's only because he doesn't have to plan, i did that for him. (and im the one with 2 jobs, go figure)

i'm in for pompoms, too. Did we reach the limit on that one? How much and who o we pay?

Check with ColoradoDisneyFreaks (Jennifer) I think she is mailing a package down

Put us down for 8 poms. Had the chance to talk to Jim for 5 minutes tonight and made sure to put this on the agenda! :thumbsup2 We're buying for Amy, Bobby & Kids, too, since all of this is a surprise to them! Kids will get a kick out of these. Thank you for putting all this together, ivet. :cheer2:

Also, any opinions here are trip insurance?

Thanks much

Denise
I think the DIS consensus is that travel insurance is indispensable, but that non-Disney insurance is preferred. I understand that Disney trip insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions, and it only covers the air if it is purchased through Disney.

As I see it, the insurance protects you two ways: if something happens that prevents you from making the trip, and if something bad happens while you are on the trip. Thankfully it is rare that you would need it, but you will be very happy that you have protection when something happens.

When I searched around the Internet for complaints about DCL, I found that many of the conflicts would have been avoided if the guests had purchased insurance. Most of the rest were divided between people who got sick on board and blame Disney for lax health and sanitation procedures, and those who were denied boarding because they were sick and were mad that Disney denied them for just a little illness. Disney just can't win, it seems!

Some of the other cruise line's complaints are real eye openers: like their ship leaving port knowing that one of the propulsion units is non-functioning, limiting its speed and making the itinerary impossible. Imagine limping around the Caribbean and only having half the port calls you were promised? I feel very safe with choosing Mickey!

Great! You rock! I'm so excited...my kids have to know something is up. Who is the other family that is keeping it a secret? Tell me how to keep my mouth shut and my smiles to a minimum????:rotfl2:

Renee :hippie:

You should have the final FE list in your e-mail. I haven't gotten any updates to it since I sent it out. :cutie:

Put us down for 6 pom poms--3 red, 3 black if still available. The kids found out and Autumn said she would DIE if she didn't have any and others did. :rotfl: (And she's not even a teenager yet)

I'm looking on the Disney store sight and CAN'T decide which costume I want to get for my little Natalie. Belle, Tinkerbell or Repunzel. They are all so precious!

Thank you so much for the insurance advise. This forum is so very helpful. I cannot wait to meet you all.

I am terribly jealous that I missed out on the brunch :-( but I an certain you will have a glorious time - congratulations.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge around posting and including the previous threads and such. I will get better. But heck by then we might have sailed!!!
