10/15/2011 - Taking the West by Magic!

Hi :wave2: and :welcome: Wooo Hoooo another on the second deck!!! I think we should have races down the hall, set up some hula hoops and throw some water balloons - just for starters :rotfl2: Just kidding
I can tellthis this is going to be a vacation to remember!!:cool1:
Sonia, I like the idea of the red and black ones...
Red and black sounds good to me.
Hans will have to speak to the brunch, don't want to step on his toes, but welcome to the group! I'm sorta jealous that you guys can take advantage of these last minute deals on cruises! Are you in Florida? (Can't see it right now on the message editor.)
Today is the day when the Disney Magic releases availability of the Palo Private Room to the Cruise Activities folks, who then get to decide who gets reservations. I don't know how much time that would take, so I don't have any expectations of when we will find out if we are lucky or not--just that it could be any time now.

That being said, do we want to make alternative plans for if (perish the thought) Cruise Activities doesn't pick us? If everyone is still willing, I will try for a second chance reservation we we get on board. Since we aren't trying for the Palo Private Room, we could add the folks who asked about brunch after we reached the limit for PPR.

Your thoughts?

I forgot to mention all four of us are dressing up for Pirate night! We all have costumes!
My DW's costume is in production, mine is in planning. pirate:

Ahh, I am always a little sad when I catch up on the board and reach the last page :(

does anybody hve any experience shipping a package to the ship? I was planning to send one with the FE stuff on it and other things i dont wanna bother with while at wdw. DF thinks im overplanning and overpacking. But that's only because he doesn't have to plan, i did that for him. (and im the one with 2 jobs, go figure)

i'm in for pompoms, too. Did we reach the limit on that one? How much and who o we pay?

As I mentioned, we are relatively new DVC members and first time cruisers. Is anyone else a DVC member? If yes, can you request a room upgrade? How does that work?

Also has anyone ever used the Disney Visa Rewards points for room charges or excursions? We have used them at WDW with great success.

Also, any opinions here are trip insurance?

Thanks much

Denise

We are DVC members, but didn't use our points for the cruise (I didn't feel it was worth it-personal opinion) so I am not sure about the upgrade. We are also going to use our reward points, just going to add them to our on board account.

We are all also dressing up for pirate night. Well, DS 11 is being a little of a party pooper-just wants to wear his bandanna and DH is too. Only got him a pirate type shirt. Was going to go and get him a few other things too because I think I can talk him into it once we are there;)

We are certainly chatty! Pages and pages in just days! :yay:

Palo - We will take any day/time for Palo brunch!

Pom poms :cheer2::cheer2: - I think the red and black combination is a great idea. There are two of us so whatever the standard order is count us in.

Yay! :yay:  :yay: more people on the party deck! Methinks there might be a few impomptu meets on deck 2.

pirate: Pirate Party - my family decided ahead of time that they did not want to dress us for Pirate night on our first cruise :sad2. But the day of the party they were scrambling :cool1: to get something appropriate - they got tshirts in the gift shop. I would suggest you bring something along with you anyway - your family will appreciate it when they get there, even if it's just an eye patch and an earring. fyi - the bandanas that Disney gives you at dinner are on the small side.

Excited!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

We are DVC members, i did use my points on this cruise only because my banked points were going to expire and I had them to burn. Normally i agree with dkfajr1- i dont think its worth using the points on the cruise. On my last 2 cruises we booked with a cast member discount and at the time you didn't choose your stateroom, it was pot luck. we would up on the 8th deck in a ocean view verandah on the 1st one. On our second we ended up in a inside stateroom. And the spoiled princess that i am-was not happy. We upgraded at the terminal for like 230 bucks to a ocean view porthole on maybe 6.
This time we got pixie dusted! We were on 6 in a verandah and got moved to a deluxe ocean view on 8! So keep checking i hear this happens all the time.

O.K. sorry, but what does DVC mean. We do have the Disney Credit card and are using our points towards the on ship "cost". Is that what you mean? Also, is the final list upgrade from the first page. Time is limited, with me at home by myself...still a secret! lol I am trying to get all the FE items together! Also, having trouble with the men...anyone else have any good ideas for them?

Can't wait! One more month!

DVC is Disney Vacation Club. The Disney Visa with the reward dollars are different, but several of us have both I am sure. (I do!) With DVC sometimes members use their alloted yearly points (or banked/borrowed) towards a cruise.

We can't wait either!!:cheer2: Keeping fingers crossed for some Pixie Dust! But like I said before, not holding my breath with connecting rooms

DVC means Disney Vacation Club (time share). Disney credit card is the Visa card that you earn reward points on.

So my fish extender gifts are finally done, packed up and on their way to my dad's in Orlando. (One less thing to pack)

So i have a question for my fellow experienced cruisers. What do you guys do for lunch on your days at sea? We have never left the adults only pool (laziness) and have always eaten at plutos or pizza. This time i want to try to get off my lounge chair and go to lunch. Anyone have a fav or do you eat quick service like me?
