I think there are so many really beautiful girls' names out there right now. Of course we always tease Jillian that she was named after a bar in Boston that became a chain store!![]()

That's excellent!
I never thought about how dark the room would be. Since Alex and I are in an inside stateroom, I'm sure it'll be pitch black. I'm thinking I might just bring a mini flashlight for us to use if we need to get up in the middle of the night.
I was reading earlier that there were no clocks at all while the Magic was transitioning from the propeller-clock to the iPod alarm clock. I am not sure if the new clocks have arrived yet, so a travel clock might be essential!
A good tip I found elsewhere on the DIS is to turn on the TV with sound off or lowered and set to the bridge view channel. I guess they set it to a starry sky for most of the night, and then you get to see the sun rise. Kind of a "Poor man's inside porthole."I never thought about how dark the room would be. I am conflicted about this--I want to fell like "I have no cares in the world" and lie in every morning, but I also want to be wide awake every hour that I can to take advantage of the ship and the ports. I'll probably do a little of both!I guess that is what we'll be doing. I always loose track of time on vacation

Hmmm, I was about to reply that there is a time change in Cozumel, but after looking at the Stateroom Navigator, I am not so sure! It reminds us in one place to move our clocks and watches FORWARD 1 hour the night before or the morning of arrival. But in another, it says that we need to keep to the ship's time, as it is different from the local time!OK, I have a question...please don't laugh
Do we stay on the same time zone? Is that stupid to ask???
Basically, will we have to be changing the time on our clocks around too much during the cruise?
Thanks![]()

Our last vaca to the Outer Banks, I realized that I am getting old. I actually went to bed at a reasonable time and got up with the sun every day.![]()

If it helps, DH and I are in our 20s, but we are on such an abnormal schedule. He works a 4:30am to 1:30pm shift at work, so we are usually up at 3 and in bed by 9pm.Yesterday, we felt so special, because we stayed up until 10pm and slept in until 7:30am.

So, even on vacation, I don't see us sleeping in too late. We'll probably catch a lot of the sunrises and be ready to leave the boat by 8.

Alicia, I love your new avatar picture!! CongratulationsI tend to be an earlier riser and earlier to bed, but we'll have to see how it works out this time. Usually, I'd go with Scott to the cabaret acts while the kids were in the clubs, then I'd be ready to hit the sack, especially on our last cruise where we always had to be up so early for excursions!
I'm looking forward to just relaxing and sleeping in a little bit!![]()

I'm pretty sure the ship stays on the same time the whole cruise, however, when we're in Cozumel, we'll be an hour ahead of shore time because they're in Central time and we'll be on Eastern time. All of the other ports are also in Eastern so they don't change the ship's clock or dining times or anything.
So, if we have an excursion in Cozumel (through Disney) does that mean we don't have to worry at all about the time change? We'll just be where we have to be (according to Disney time) even though it is actually an hour behind there? Am I making sense?Meaning, if we are scheduled for 9:30, then according to the ship time we still meet for the excursion at 9:30, but it is actually 8:30 there??
I think I'm paranoid...but I REALLY don't want to be left in Mexico because of a time change!!![]()
Here's another question for the experienced cruisers: what is the expected or generally accepted dress code for embarkation? I wasn't planning on dressing up, I think comfort might win the day but I wonder if we will want to look nice for the embarkation photos.
Also, is it like the old Love Boat episodes where we thrown crepe streamers off the decks? What kind of party favors might I bring along?

Thank you! Alex is the one who wanted to turn our rings into a Hidden Mickey.
Sounds like you've got a Disney husband there, he's a keeper!
I 'm glad everyone said that we can dress casual, because I will be driving an hour in the car to get to port, so I was planning to just wear comfy clothes. I figured it'd be a pretty laid back afternoon, anyways, aside from dinner that night. I will probably be wearing shoes that I can walk around in, because I'll most likely want to explore the ship!![]()
