I am looking forward to the Disney Dreams show; although I am sad and wish that we would get to see the Golden Mickeys instead. Also, I can't wait to see what recent movies they will be playing aboard. Right now it looks like the most likely candidate will be The Lion King in its 3-D release.
Roy Disney had just passed the week before we got on the ship for our Med cruise, so our cruise, and the WBTA after it were the last ones to have the old Golden Mickeys. I hope that they find some way to bring them back, and to tie it in to the Disney family, just using the CEO of the company wouldn't be as wonderful. The Dreams show is great, I haven't seen Believe yet, but I'm so sappy I'll probably be bawling my eyes out!
I would love to be able to do an animation lesson, or be humbled at a Disney Trivia contest. Other seminars I will be trying to fit in the itinerary are some of the Art of Entertaining, the shopping guides, and anything about cooking. My wife will kill me if I get her involved in any of the Know Your Mate shows, so that is struck off the list...
We did an Art of Animation class and learned how to draw Mickey. I asked Oscar, who was the one teaching the class if I could have his demo drawing and if he'd sign it. He looked so taken aback and said that no one had ever asked him if they could have it before! I want to check out the Art of Entertaining series too, so you'll hopefully see me there. You definitely want to go to a session of Who Wants To Be A Mousketeer, that's fun family trivia! Also, I highly recommend going to see the Match Your Mate, I've never laughed so hard in my life!
I hope to meet the captain at his reception or a seminar. As a geek, I am very interested in the workings of the ship and I will look for any tour or activity that takes me behind the scenes.
You should try asking at Guest Services if there is a bridge tour that you might be able to go on. Don't be surprised if they say no, but leave your room number and they might let you go on one. I've heard it happens.
We will be looking for a wine or beer tasting or mixology seminar. It probably won't help me any, as when it comes to choosing wine I will still probably choose the Fess Parker because it is Disney related and comes with a coon-skin cap
Although the thought of an art auction and some Disney art thrills me, the bad reputation that the auctioneers of the past (and the expense of buying art on my vacation) will probably keep me away.
I love looking at them, but when I see prices I usually just keep walking!
We are hoping to have both a pirate costume and a Halloween costume, in case their is a costume party. I am definitely looking forward to the pirate party! Arrgh!
How about you? What do the veteran cruisers look forward to? Will I have enough free time for some Cribbage in Diversions? Will I have to bring my own board?
