We will probably have our Tees made over here. We didn't like the results with the iron-on paper. But we will of course use the same design as everyone else. BTW, our professional print-shop in Germany didn't care for the Disney-characters, but this doesn't mean that we will bring 150+ Tees across the Great Pond - Especially as Pooh-sizes are not that easy to get over here. BTW, what is Anja? Minnie Mouse-size?? :rotfl:

Jeanne,
we'd love to meet you
Peter is alreay looking into Priceline and Hotwire for hotel rooms. He recommends staying as central as possible. Perhaps we could get a better price, if we book more rooms. We don't need anything tacky, as we will use the room for sleeping, changing and showering only, but a certain standard would be nice. With you we would need three rooms, but perhaps there will be more joining us?

Talking about finalizing the List: As I now have a notebook, I will be able to do very last minute changes and upload them going to Starbucks or wherever there is a hotspot available.

OK,
it's nearly 8pm now. We will watch 'Desparate Housewives' now (Taped it last night) and then 'The O.C.' and I will do the update while watching it - That's what I call multi-tasking :teeth:

Edited for typos

Kim,

That idea with the names on the back of the shirt is great. We are doing that for our August Ship of Fools Cruise. It's going to kinda look like the shirts we got when we were in high school with everyone's names on it.

Folks,
Edition #11 of our evergrowing List is in you mailboxes, check it out.
Jennifer,
your got two mails: The List and Cruisetoberfest's History.

They just showed a funny clip from America on TV:
Before a hockey game a young lady tried to sing the American National Anthem. After singing some lines she forgot the lyrics. She concentrated for 10 seconds or so, then continued. After some more lines she got stuck again, blushed, ran off the ice-rink to the lockers and retrieved a sheet with the lyrics. When she came back, she stepped a bit too quickly onto the mat which was placed on the ice. The mat slipped and she landed on her bu**. I guess it was embarassing at first, but I'm sure that eventually she will laugh about it, too ;)

Eric, they had her on one of our morning talk shows. She is from Canada and didn't know the words to the American National Anthem. It was a hard night for her! I don't think she ever did sing it that night!

Anyone going on the May repo cruise that would be willing to pick me up a cookbook on the ship? Details for the willing.. :teeth:
Allen

Renee,
I sent it again from my AOL. Perhaps your mailbox's SPAM-blocker simply 'killed' it. With more than 50 recipients it can easily be mistaken for SPAM unfortunately.

BTW, here comes a correction to my mail accompanying The List: It's not 42.9 per cent of Americans who claim to have German ancestry, but 42.9 million. It's nevertheless the largest group with the Irish being second with about 30 million. Interesting fact: About 20 million stated that their ancestry is American about 8 million maore than when the last census was done in 1990.

Eric you made a mistake in your previous post. I am bilingual thank you very much. I speak English and Tennessee broken English very well :rotfl2: Don't make me come over there and throw a few yall's on you.

Hope that everyone has a nice cruise next weekend. Kathy and I are green with envy. Mike

Mike,
your coming to Germany: Is that a promise or a threat? :rotfl2:
BTW, did I tell you that we crazy Germs found one more way to burn all that excess energy?
Next week we'll start the training for my company's first start in a Dragonboat Race. It will take place on the River Main on the last weekend of May, but we'll have a training session on 05/11. The teams consist of about 20 people from numerous companies from the Frankfurt area. The boats are traditional Chinese Dragonboats and are propelled by paddles. I guess we'll get wet, but will have a lot of fun. And Anja joined our team, too.

Hi Guys,

Here is a good one...

We had been talking about going to Miami at Christmas and spend time with my brother & wife. Told mom last night that I made internet reservations at Downtown Disney Holiday Inn instead, I would treat for the rooms and the guys could come up from Miami. I told her I reserved 3 rooms for 118. She did not seem very impressed until I explained that is was $ 1.18 a night. OK now she likes this idea.
No one really knows why the rates were wacky, they actually had rates as low as 0.53 cents a night. Of course the rates are not longer available.

Holiday INN LBV said they will honor the internet rate, we will see what happens. So now hopefully we are able to go in December...

Bye, Kim

1.18 a night??? :earseek:
I'm gonna move in there forever :rotfl2: That's cheaper than a locker at Frankfurt's Grand Central Station :rotfl:

Kim,

I think Holiday Inns always have problems with prices on their website. I got lucky when I booked the Holiday Inn in CA for August before our cruise. I got a 2 bedroom suite for $75 per night. I called to confirm and was told they forgot the "2" in front of the 75 so it should have been $275 per night. They also told me they had to honor that price since that is what I reserved. Hey I'm happy since that's more money for pins and drinks!

HOW did I miss these rates!? We were JUST talking about this at lunch today! A woman was on the Today Show and booked DTD for .93 a night! Apparently, she was up at 230am making the ressies, got the rate, called and woke up her entire family, they all booked and now they are having a family reunion there! Why didn't anyone call me? :confused3

I read about the rate on the Disers Budget chat and went online about 9 am and was able to book the rooms. People have reservations from May until December. If we have to cancel more than 5 days from when our reservation begins then it is a $ 25.00 charge, if we cancle up to the time we are to check in then they charge you one nights cancellation penalty, OK charge me the one night penalty @ $ 1.18... A lot cheaper than $ 25.00.

Bye, Kim

Saw this rate talked about but of course too late to book it darn it all.

Mike - No need quite yet to mow the lawn although with all the rain we've been having we will surely have to in the next week or so.

It's nice and sunny out and although it's to get warmer for the weekend it's also supposed to rain.

Fiona,
our forecast predicts one-digit temps (Celsius, of course) for the weekend, with slush and snow down to elevations of about 600m. Frankfurt is at 115m, but nevertheless this is kind of shocking after we already had more than 30°C this week :cold:

OK,
bedtime now, we got to get up at 440am tomorrow :wave2:

Headed to the annual Nurses for Newborns Foundation fund raiser at the Richland country club tonight. Going as a volunteer tonight with Kathy as that is the only way I could ever get into a country club. Too rich for my blood.

Fred Miller, formerly of the NFL Titans has donated $1.5 million dollars over the last three years to NFN. This has enabled 2,500 clients to receive over 18,500 home health care visits for babies at risk of falling through the health care cracks in the system. Mike

Hi all! I was told to come over here from the Ship of Fools....I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I'm Jenny. I'm 26 (27 in June). My DH is Jamie. He's 29. We don't have any kids (just our furbaby Pogo - a 7 year old Chihuahua). We're travelling alone. This will be our 5th cruise, all on Disney. We started with a 4 day cruise in September 2001, then we did a 7 day in September 2002 and finally we just did the 10 day in December. We've worked our way up to the August 14 day pretty well. Not sure how we're going to do with a 7 day after the longer cruises though.

We're all around Disney fanatics (or is that freaks??). We bought into DVC in 2002 (at the Beach Club). We've been to WDW 8 times (with #9 coming up in May, but we've never been to Disneyland. We're going to do 2 days there before the 14 day cruise. We'll be using our points to stay at the Grand Californian (should be nice). DVC has it's advantages - we went and used our points twice last year, plus we paid to stay at the POP the night before the 10 day cruise. We were planning to take next year off from Disney trips, but we rebooked this cruise while onboard the 10 day. We're planning to do Mickey's not so Scary Halloween Party before the cruise too (if the dates work out).

What else? We live in New Hampshire (unfortunately). We were both born and raised in northern Vermont (tucked way up in the corner of NY and Canada). I am a Civil Engineering Technician and I do computer aided drafting (ALL day :badpc: ). Jamie owns his own computer consulting business.

I'm not sure what else to say about us. Any questions, just ask. That's us in a nutshell though.
