Hi all! I was told to come over here from the Ship of Fools....I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I'm Jenny. I'm 26 (27 in June). My DH is Jamie. He's 29. We don't have any kids (just our furbaby Pogo - a 7 year old Chihuahua). We're travelling alone. This will be our 5th cruise, all on Disney. We started with a 4 day cruise in September 2001, then we did a 7 day in September 2002 and finally we just did the 10 day in December. We've worked our way up to the August 14 day pretty well. Not sure how we're going to do with a 7 day after the longer cruises though.

We're all around Disney fanatics (or is that freaks??). We bought into DVC in 2002 (at the Beach Club). We've been to WDW 8 times (with #9 coming up in May, but we've never been to Disneyland. We're going to do 2 days there before the 14 day cruise. We'll be using our points to stay at the Grand Californian (should be nice). DVC has it's advantages - we went and used our points twice last year, plus we paid to stay at the POP the night before the 10 day cruise. We were planning to take next year off from Disney trips, but we rebooked this cruise while onboard the 10 day. We're planning to do Mickey's not so Scary Halloween Party before the cruise too (if the dates work out).

What else? We live in New Hampshire (unfortunately). We were both born and raised in northern Vermont (tucked way up in the corner of NY and Canada). I am a Civil Engineering Technician and I do computer aided drafting (ALL day :badpc: ). Jamie owns his own computer consulting business.

I'm not sure what else to say about us. Any questions, just ask. That's us in a nutshell though.

Something is wrong with my countdown ticker. It says we have over 17 months until our cruise!

Oh....Right.

Welcome Jenny. I'm new too.

Jennifer

Welcome Jenny - the more the merrier.

Weatherman has changed his prediction for the weekend and it should be 70F and sunny for at least part of it.

It's sunny at the moment and definately warmer.

Thankfully it's Friday!

Anyone watch Survivor and The Apprentice last night? I think immunity is going to get very important on Survivor for the next couple of episodes. I'm hoping for Tana to win on the Apprentice.

Back to work.

Fiona

BigRed ... You're killing me with that picture of Mount Rustmore ... I wish I was there right now.

Mike - Papa ... Got some of the German Queen tomato plants at WallyWorld last night. Did my usual trick, kept looking at all the pots till I came up with the ones with multiple plants ... more for your money that way! Three pots and 7 plants! Just have to do a little transplanting this weekend. They'll be part of "the garden on wheels" till things get a little warmer her tho.

All the names on the back of the T-shirts does remind me of the graduation t-shirts ... boy will that get people talking!

BTW (Back to Work)

The only problem is: With our group getting bigger from month to month, there will be a space-problem with all those names. We have either to use a very small font, or use other tricks, like using numbers for multiple names, i.e. 4 Jennifers :earboy2:

We could put the names in Paragraph form instead of listed separately. That would save space. Either DIS names or family names (The Smiths of GA, the Parkers of VA, the Browns of Canada, the Schmidts of Germany..) Just an idea.

Hey I went to bookstore today. They didn't have the new Passporter. Is it out yet? I wanted to browse it but probably wait til next year's addition to buy again.

Anyway, I wanted to read about cruise experiences with Cozumel and Costa Maya. I read Frommer's and both ports got good reviews. Sounds like we dock at both places (please, no tendering!) I'd love to see some ruins or historical parts, but those excursions are LOOONG. (7 hours in the book.) I can't take my kids on a 7 hour excursion or leave them on the ship for that long while I'm away.

Hopefully we'll get good trip reports and suggestions from the DiSers when a lot of cruises start going there.

Jennifer,
we did Cozumel during Cruisetoberfest II and loved it. RellingTwin & Twinave and their families and DW & I rented a diveboat for the day. The certified divers spent some quality time under water, the rest snorkeled. Later we did some shopping downtown. It was fun.
Aren't you registered on Jennifer's and Dave's Passporter Page? I get their newsletter, but haven't read anything about a new edition of the Cruisepassporter yet. We have the Deluxe Editions of both the WDW- and the Cruise-Passporters and buy new updates before each trip.

We went to Cozumel on Cruistoberfest II and did the Tulum Ruins tour. Andy & Arlene and Mary Jo, Sam and Sarah did it too -- I can't remember if anyone else went or not.

Anyway it was a great day but it was long and very, very hot. We got lunch but not til almost 3pm so if I was doing this one again I'd take some snacks with us. It was very interesting but wouldn't be great depending on the ages of your kids.

At this point we are up in the air about what we are going to do in Cozumel or Costa Maya (where I've never been). Jim and I don't dive or snorkel so we may just walk around and take advantage of the "shopping opportunities".

No. Should I be? I'll have to check it out.

Fiona, I guess it is ok that we are 'up in the air' about what to do at those ports since we have almost 1.5 years to decide. Still, being an obsessive planner, it is tough to have to wait for plans.

Jennifer

Jennifer,
being registered gets you a regular Newsletter with lots of info and even printable updates for your Passport.
I'm into early planning as well. I already started doing rough plans for the three weeks in Florida before Cruisetoberfest IV. I'm already in the 'hot phase' for our upcoming 1-week-trip to Vienna, and in the 'brainstorming phase' for the 15 days in New England.
But with our possible purchase of a new car in the next days/weeks right now I'm doing a lot of configurating options, comparing prices, checking out dealerships, etc. It's a lot of work, but also a lot of fun - and it can save you a lot of money. Even though not buying a new car would save even more ;)

Thanks for sending the pirate picture Eric.

Thanks for the link Renee.

Sunny and hot here today. Have to work on replacing the starter cord in my gas powered lawnmower. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the cruise. Mike

Glad you like the picture, Mike :wave2:
We had constant rain here the whole day, varying betwen a drizzle and torrential floods. Keep your fingers crossed that at least tomorrow between 2 and 4pm it's dry. We'll test-drive a new convertible then. Although this one has a glass-roof, it would be nice to drive it with the top down. The whole top section of the car is made of glass: The windshield, the roof, and the rear window are like a large bubble made of tinted glass. The roof and the rear window neatly fold back into the trunk at the push of a button.

Have our fingers crossed for your test drive Eric. Buckle up and have fun. Mike

Here are the pictures of Haley in her Minnie Mouse outfit that I promised a while ago. Sorry it took so long, but I kept forgetting to take pics when she wore it. As you can see, she just loves it. One pic came so cute, I had to put it in my sig. :teeth:

I had a dream last night that my hubby & I were checking in at the cruise terminal & when we were handed our KTTW card it was GOLD! I got all excited & said "Hey, a gold card! Did we get an upgrade?" The man checking us in said "Yes, you have been upgraded to the Walt Disney Suite." We then went on to meet our concierge & they even let us pick out a couple bottles of wine to be delivered to our room! Then, reality struck & my 5YO DD jumped in bed with us & woke me up! It was a nice dream though...while it lasted.

Must have been a dream as we have the Suite, and BTW it comes with a Platinum KTTW Card :rotfl2:

Send us photo of your new car Eric

As soon as I've ordered it, Mike.
We did the testdrive today. When I left our house for the dealership there was a thunderstorm with torrential rain and hail. When I left the dealership it still rained and I drove right into a jam on the Autobahn. I then drove through town for some time, switched to another Autobahn and was even able to drive at about 115mph for some time. Then the rain stopped and and I was able to dry the car by driving for 10 mintes at a about 100mph ;) , drove to a rest area, and toyed around with the retractable roof for some time. Then I was able to pick up Anja with the top down.
The guy at the dealership wasn't able to make us an offer. Us testdriving on a Sunday could have gotten him in trouble alone as businesses are not allowed to do such things on Sundays. So his salesman will call me tomorrow or fax me an offer. We'll see. They have a special offer running right now granting us a rebate of €2500, but I guess there's more where that comes from :teeth:
