Hopefully it will be sunny here today as yesterday it rained off and on. Looking pretty dreary here on the ground though as most of the snow is now gone revealing all of the garbage. Everything is wet and brown. Oh well at least it won't snow again (knock on wood).

Ya, well, you spoke too soon. The weather office has just issued a Winter Storm Watch for April 2... they're forecasting 10 to 15 cm of snow and the weatherman on the news radio keeps repeating 'this is real'.

At least with putting our clocks ahead an hour this weekend for daylight savings time it'll give us more time to watch it snow in the daylight.

Amy: We had the main computer hijacked a while ago (the garbage came piggybacked on either a KaZaa download or an Instant Messenger attachment) and I must have spent eight or nine hours on it to get rid of it. Finally got a piece of software called HijackThis which helped clear it off, but there were 19 pages of step-by-step instructions. The main hijacker was something called CoolWebSearch which replicated itself somewhere else when it detected it was trying to be deleted. I wasn't impressed.

Jim.

And Happy April Fools day to you too "LUKE" :rotfl2:
Hope it clears up in time for you to go to the ballpark.... :goodvibes

Weather over here is great, we have a highpressure system hovering over Central Europe. Temps in Frankfurt were about 19°C/67°F with clear blue skies, the same is forecast for tomorrow. This fits perfectly as we will drive into the 'Backlands' tomorrow: My Uncle and Auntie (Gramps's BIL & Wife) are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary (60 years) and her 85th birthday.
We'll start with a big brunch around 11pm and finish with coffee & cake in the afternoon. A co-worker of mine, who is a semi-professional magician and ventriloquist, will entertain us. My Auntie is a fan of magic and has one for every big celebration, so last time I recommended my co-worker and he got the job. I guess we'll be 200-300 people, and we will also have to listen to some Oompah-music from the local marching band ;) My Uncle used to own a large rehab-clinic (300+ beds) in that little village until he sold it 10 years ago and retired, so he is very, very wealthy. He donoted a lot for the village and so the Fire Brigade's Marching Band will be there, a Choir, the Mayor, etc.

Unfortunately, it's true.

They've downgraded the amount of snow that we're supposed to get to 10 cm, but north of here in the Snow Belt, they're supposed to get whacked with 20 to 30 cm. That's for Saturday. On Sunday, they're calling for 50 mm of rain which apparently will wash away most of the snow. The rain and snow have prompted flood warnings, which aren't all that common for around here, so something is happening.

I was listening to the local news radio all day and they sent out a reporter with the warning to interview people, and generally nobody believed him either.

Jim.

testing signature. Gosh that was hard to do when you are technically challenged.

Glad to see that Mary and Jeanne are both getting settled into their new homes.

Arlene-- Looks like you had a great Easter weekend.

Have we heard from Rosemary since she got her motorhome.

Hope everyone is feeling fine. To be another wet weekend in Central PA.

Nancy

Snow???
That's fortunately over for us :Pinkbounc  Sending warm thoughts to Canada :sunny: :wave2:

Nancy,
Richard and Rosemary obviously don't have Internet-Access in their RV ;)

Over here nearly every News-station sends continuous coverage from St Peter's Square in Rome, and even the other stations interrupt their program in frequent intervals or have newstickers running through.
At least it looks like they let that man die in dignity without any life-extending measures. Even though I'm not religious I must remark that this Pope deserves a lot of respect.

Yipee! I am on line again!! :cool1: For some reason my "mouse" would not work, but my neice had a spare one and it works fine!
Lots of unpacking to get done  I'll check in later :wave2:

Mary,
good to have you back again. Perhaps your mouse just needs some cheese ;)
I just chatted with your DD and DS on AOL, and before that I had another nice chat with Marianne.

We spent a nice day with the family feasting & chatting - Now we won't have to eat again before Monday :earboy2:

I hope this night's lost hour won't trouible you. We fortunately switched to Daylight Saving Time last weekend and with the two holdays it went by nearly unnoticed.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Glad to hear the party was success! Sounded like it would be a fun time!

Normally the time change is hard on me, but I think this year will be easier as the kids are STILL on Spring Break on Monday! They go back on Tuesday! I am looking forward to that....but I have a dentist appt that I am NOT looking forward to! I broke another tooth and I just KNOW he is going to want to put a crown on it. ugh. Thanks for the teeth Dad!

We are getting, what I hope is, our last snow shower for the season! It's not sticking, thank goodness! Two days ago it was 80, now it is snowing, go figure!

I can feel with you, Michelle:
I'll have to have a crown and a bridge replaced in May :guilty:

Have to keep us from falling off the page.

Good job, Mike.
Had to do it too some days ago :sad2:
Our thread has become kind of slow lately. Hope you'll keep it on Page One as long as we're in Thailand ;)

Jeanne:

The 2 pm play lets out a little before 4:30. Theres also a place across the street called Ollies Noodles which is supposed to be good and quick...

Hi! Been lurking a while, getting ready to go back to school. I had to jump on because I got a really disturbing email through my address I use for DIS boards. Did anyone else get one. It was very "rude" is all I will say as the language was terrible and it talked about messing with peoples computers/websites. Did anyone else get anything similiar? :confused3 Just took me by surprise. Other than that, all is well here. Seems I will be in VA later than I originally planned. When was everyone getting together in DC, again? Tried to go back and find the dates, but my vision started to cross, too many pages! Take care, Denise

Denise we will be there on April 28th through the 1st of May. I think the twins and others are going the last of June.

Kathy is thinking about going back to her old job for 20 hours a week. If she works 20 hours a week or less she will still be retired and still maintain all of her benefits. She misses her friends at work. Mike
