It's sunny today! Way better weather than the weekend when it rained and snowed! Seeing snow flurries in April is not nice.

Picked up our tickets for the Jays home opener on Friday night -- we are way out there but at least we will be there. We have the seasons passes again this year so we'll be at lots of games. My firm has season tickets (4) which are about 17 rows up behind home plate which we will sit in once in while too. If anyone is coming to Toronto and wants tickets let me know and I should be able to get the firm tickets. They aren't that popular cause the Jays haven't done that well in the past although we are hopeful this year.

Back to work.

Denise we will be there on April 28th through the 1st of May. I think the twins and others are going the last of June.

Kathy is thinking about going back to her old job for 20 hours a week. If she works 20 hours a week or less she will still be retired and still maintain all of her benefits. She misses her friends at work. Mike

Mike, does she really miss her friends at work or are you simply driving her nuts :rotfl:
How do you like your Mac Mini? I won't replace my desktop before 2006, but then I may consider buying an Apple too. I love our three iPods, and if the PCs are only have as good as those gizmos it would be more than enough reason to buy one.

Chris & Denise,
no spam for us - fortunately!! But I find mortgage offers in the Cruisetoberfest-account from time to time.

because I got a really disturbing email

You can 'out' the person to webmaster@disboards.com or abuse@disboards.com. Also send a copy to the originating point, same two email IDs... especially if there is either an implied threat or something that isn't really nice. Providers are really, really quick to pull plugs when that kind of stuff happens. They may require the email ID which isn't present if you're using hotmail.com or yahoo.com. Every Internet Provider is supposed to have the webmaster and abuse mailboxes active. Most reputable ones will respond.

I turned off my email some time ago when the incoming emails hit 1,000 for three days in a row. Just got tired of hitting the delete key all of the time. If I have to supply an email for some particular reason, I generally use null@yahoo.com. Null being the dead letter box for every domain on the face of the planet.

Jim.

Hi Gang!
No "bad" mail here. Sorry that happened to you Denise :earseek:

What a busy day! I got the kids enrolled in school, picked up my NEW VAN,(a Ford Windstar) and started my job hunting. The termite guy comes tomorrow. This was suppose to be for a "termit letter" for the bank, but we saw some termites "swarming" yesterday, so this needs to be addressed before we can get a mortgage.Cable TV gets turned on tomorrow!!! :cool1: My children will be SO happy!
Mike, tell Kathy to be carefull, they will have her back to full time if she's not carefull! Is she still doing the Nurses for Newborns?
Where the heck is Rosemary??? We need a report on the new RV!

No bad mail here either although on my work email I'm going through a viagra stage. Tons of emails offering lots of drugs.

It's supposed to go up to double digits here today. Yeah!

Blue Jays started their season last night and they actually won! Must savour the sensation of being in first place!

Fiona

Unfortunetely the mets opened yesterday also and of course lost. The only thing i have to say is they have nowhere to go but up..

Once again the Tigers start of on a high note! :cheer2: Now the question is - can they continue or will they revert to the same ol' Tigers? :confused3

Mary--- I had to deal with the termites last year. It was around this time we saw them swarming. Since we have been treated no sign of them this year. We have those green bait stations all around our house. Good luck. It's not cheap. Wow, new house and new van. Lucky you.

Mike-- I must have missed that you were going to be in DC the end of April. Good luck to Kathy going back to part time work.

Also wondering where Rosemary is.

I also didn't get any nasty email.

Amazing Race tonight.

Nancy

Eric--- Have you read the latest terrorist warning regarding Tailand? If you are still planning on going please take care.

Nancy

We had 2 pieces of pressure treated wood in our backyard. I kept telling Andy to throw them out. One day we were working in the yard and I actually insisted that he throw them out. Lo and behold when we went to lift them there were thousands of the nasty little termite critters on them. Needless to say I wouldnt touch them after that. We sprayed them till they were dead and then Andy(mr procrastinator) had the pleasure of moving them himself. Thankfully they were laying away from the house otherwise who knows what kind of problem we would have had.

Nancy
Terrorists?? In Thailand? Never heard of that!! Did you perhaps mix this up with Sri Lanka?

Nancy,
I googled 'Terrorist Threat Thailand' and all I could find was an Australian site stating this:
Thailand
There is a history of insurgent activity in Thailand's south, involving radical Muslim separatist groups, the Pattani United Liberation Organisation (PULO), the Pattani Islamic Mujahidin Movement (GMIP) and the National Revolutionary Front (BRN).

Though there is as yet no evidence that supporters of Jemaah Islamiyah have formed a formal, structured network in Thailand, Jemaah Islamiyah is probably capable of conducting terrorist attacks in parts of the country, including in Bangkok. A number of Jemaah Islamiyah suspects were arrested in Thailand in June 2003 on suspicion of involvement in a plot to conduct terrorist attacks on targets in Bangkok, including embassies.

Jemaah Islamiyah has a relatively new group of sympathisers in southern Thailand who have been prepared to lend support during transits by Jemaah Islamiyah terrorists fleeing arrest, including Bali bombers. Jemaah Islamiyah's operations chief, Hambali, is known to have spent time in the southern provinces.

Coordinated attacks on security checkpoints in Thailand's southern provinces in late April 2004 were an alarming escalation of violence. They came in the wake of the Thai Government's crackdown on southern unrest after an armoury raid in January 2004. A range of local causes appears to have been behind the attacks, which resulted in 112 fatalities, including 107 attackers and five members of Thailand's security forces. Though links to foreign extremism cannot be ruled out, there is no firm evidence linking these attacks to Jemaah Islamiyah sympathisers in Thailand or abroad.

The danger is that the international publicity and attention drawn to southern Thailand by militant Muslim attacks could serve as a beacon for extremists. It could be used to persuade local radicals that their struggle is linked to a broader international militant struggle or global jihad.

There is continuing potential for Muslim extremists to use Thailand and other areas in South-East Asia as a safe haven where they can lie low, launder money or obtain forged identity documents.

This sounds so half-***ed, that I won't lose sleep over it. I guess riding the Subway in NYC at night would be more scary ;)
But thanks for caring :wave2:

Fiona,
temps over her are going down to the lower 10s (Celsius)/50ies (Fahrenheit) and a big rainfront is coming through - But who cares?: We'll have temps in excess of 30°C/86°F next week in Thailand :cool1: :sunny:

Mary she will be extra careful and not go over her allowance for hours. Eric you know the old saying about retired husbands. "Twice the husband, half the money." Same goes for retired wives also!

Nancy the reason we are going the last of this month is that Art's work increases at the end of the year with all of the incoming school supplies and both of the girls workloads. Me I am just going with the flow. :rotfl:

It was almost 80ºF here yesterday. My son cut the grass and all that is left is weeding and trimming to be done. Kathy walked 3/4 of a mile on the nature trail yesterday and I did a 1/2 mile. We are both going for a mile this afternoon. Mike

Hi everyone,

Well it is 41F here today and the sun is shining Yippie !!! Nothing too exciting in New Hampshire, a few more weeks and hopefully we can start working outside.

The New sewing room is almost finished, I need to build a window seat and order the sewing table frame ( I am making the table top) and then I will post photos. Mom & I are now trying to organize everything and put some "homey" touches in the room, she is much better at that than I am.

It is hard to believe that we leave in 5 weeks for the cruise. It will be exciting, however it will also be a lot different without all our Diser friends on board with us...

Back to work,

Hugs, Kim

How 'bout those Tarheels last night? I was too tired to stay up and watch the last few minutes but everytime I heard John go "oo" or "ow", I made him shout into the bedroom and tell me what just happened. It was like having my own personal commentator!
I am really getting tired of all the work involved with the new house. I must be getting really old because I never remember a move being so exhausting before. Plus, I'm not going to the gym regularly so I'm really crabby all the time! I get to go to NYC AND see 2 of my kids this weekend so I have that to look forward to. Mary, Mary, are you as tired as I am?
Eric: good luck with with upcoming trip
No nasty emails on this end either.....the MSN spamblocker does a really good job of weeding out the garbage, so I very rarely get junk mail.

Hi all!
No junk emails here either..but AOL Spamblocker does a pretty good job...even blocks some of the mails I WANT to keep! :confused3
In the 70's yesterday and near 80 today and tomorrow! :cool1: Then a cold front comes through with some rain, but the weekend should be back in the 60's. I was debating mowing the grass today, but I don't know that I'll have time. I may tonight after dinner....Gotta love time change! :bounce:
Was to the dentist this morning. Good news! I won't have to get a crown! He thinks he can repair it! YEAH!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Eric--- No, I did not get it mixed up with SirLanks. There was an airport bombing in Thailand along with some hotels and shopping areas. Normally, I would not have been paying attention but when they mentioned Thailand I thought of you and listened. It was on CNN today.

Here is the link from CNN website

http://edition.cnn.com/ASIA/

Thanks for the link Nancy. Be careful Eric and Anja.

It appears Canadians will require a passport to enter the US after December 31, 2006. Not a problem for us as we already have passports but interesting for those Canadians who don't want to get a passport. Interesting also that Americans will need a passport to re-enter the US I think after December 31, 2007. There may be some unhappy cruisers about that one.

Back to work. Going to a seminar for the next two days which should be a thrill. I probably get a big binder though. :goodvibes
