Wage = compensation for work done ;) But I don't need cash, I'll simply tell our waiter to charge all my cocktail to your account :lmao:

No problem.....just make sure to charge it to my cabin: #6636! :rotfl2:

And now I've got one:

A sweet gal from West Virginny
Who's a big fan of Mickey and Minnie
Spent all of her time
Making words rhyme
To "bump" us back to the beginny!

(OK, I know it's a stretch, but I couldn't find a better word to end with and I'm sure Michele will forgive me)

Jeanne! I LOVE IT!!!!! I am :rotfl2: !!!!

The house is clean, the yard is mowed and the boys have had dinner. I was going to make stuffed peppers for Steve and I, but I am thinking A) I don't want a big meal and B) I don't want to fool with making it. Soooo, what to do with a lump of ground beef? I'll have to look through my bazillion cook books and find a good one skillet recipe. Then it's BED TIME!! Whooo Hooo!! My favorite part of the day!

Funny you should mention that....tonight we had "Poor Man's Pepper Steak".....a recipe I made up 32 years ago when we first got married and I was supporting us both on $85/week!
Basically, you brown the lump of ground beef and drain off all the extra fat. Add sliced green peppers and onions (I also like to add fresh mushrooms and sliced celery to increase the veggie content) and saute those in the drippings that remain (no need to remove beef). Add a few splashes of soy sauce, a sprinkle of Wondra flour to thicken it, and perhaps some add'l salt and pepper to taste. Cover it up and let it simmer on a very low light until the veggies are tender. If necessary, you can add a little water. Serve on a mound of plain white or brown rice and top with chow mein or rice noodles. It's cheap, easy, and so good!

Shall I change The List to show your new stateroom? ;)

Since Steve ended up bringing home Chinese last night, maybe I'll make this tonight! Sounds perfect! Just one question...what is Wondra flour? All purpose? Self Rising? Cornstarch? OR more like Bisquick? I'm thinking any of the above will do. I think we have dinner planned! THANKS!

Michele:
Wondra is a brand name for a flour that's primarily used for making gravies because it resists clumping. It may not be available in your area but I know Pillsbury has a version of it. It's in a round cannister-type container and it's not a vital ingredient so don't sweat it. If you want to thicken the liquid just add a little cornstarch or flour premixed with water and it should be fine.

Until someone mentioned my name I didn't even realize that was my cabin. I can never remember my cabin number. So I may have to have one of those signs with my cabin number pasted on me so I can find it or be taken to it. Just like some lost senile old person. So I probably won't even notices you charged my room.

Wow, Michele you must have had alot of energy yesterday.

Jeanne-- That receipe sound good might have to try that.

I would make taco pie. Brown hamburg and put in taco seasoning. Take cresent rolls and spread across a pie pan. Drain off the excess liquid from the hamburg and put over the cresent roll. I put a layer of non fat yogurt across the hamburg and then cheese. Bake in oven the temp for the crest rolls and cook to crust is brown and cheese melted.

Now I'm hungry but have 2 hrs till lunch.

Nancy

Both recipies sound good!

Thankfully it's Friday today -- can't wait for the weekend to start and this week to end.

Fiona

Nancy, the recipe sounds good! I could make that too! Hmmm, now I have to decide. The boys won't eat either one. Too bad for them! LOL I also have a confession. I didn't clean my house. The mother of a friend of mine cleans my house for me. She comes every 2 weeks and does the deep cleaning. Over the 2 weeks, I spot clean, do all the wash and change bedding. She is cheap as cleaning ladies go around here. Also, she is deaf and older, so it's hard for her to hold a regular job. I believe she collects disability so this just helps to suppliment that. But I did mow grass myself!

TGIF!!! I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!

We're having a long weekend as 1st of May is a nationwide official holiday.
We also plan to sleep in late, like 830am, then it's off to a nearby mall where they're having a Exhibition about the Romans. They will even have gladiator fights
We want to be there early to beat the crowds, buy freshly baked breakfast rolls, get some new DVDs, watch the gladiators and go home for breakfast.

Let me just start off by apologizing for not posting in sooooo long. Because I chose to quit my Pharmacist position & stay home with the kids, that leaves most of the household responsibilities to me. So, in the past 2 weeks I have 1) pressure washed our entire deck which is a two tiered monster 2) restained the entire deck (my butt has never been so sore from squating on hands & knees for 2 straight days!) 3) planted new flowers around the house and last but not least, 4) painted a new 8ft x 8ft playhouse for the kids! All of that on top of the usual washing clothes, scrubbing floors, etc. I am a bit of a neat freak so no cleaning person for me....I would end up go over things that she/he had done!

I was reading recent trip reports to try and figure out the method to the staggered dining times. I THINK that it goes like this APL rotation = 5:30 or 8:00 seating, PLA rotation = 5:45 or 8:15 seating and LAP rotation = 6:00 or 8:30 seating. I also read on that trip report that the OP organized an informal wine tasting....each cabin bringing along their favorit bottle of wine. That sounded kind of fun to me. Would anyone else be interested in doing this?

Being a stay at home mom is a real chore isn't it!? I love it though! I too, have done my share of deck sealing, powerwashing and yard maintenance! I even get compliments from the men in the 'hood! :thumbsup2 I tell people, "Who ever invented the phrase Stay At Home Mom never was one! I am never home!" and to be honest, my cleaning lady is meticulous (sp) I think she does a better job then I would!

Jeanne....we had Poor Man's Pepper Steak tonight! Was pretty good! I added onion and a little garlic. I didn't have soy, so I added worchestershire instead. It's one I'll be making again! THANKS!

Forgot to add....I haven't really looked into the dining rotation. Are they doing this to make it easier in the kitchen? For the staff seating people or just to maintain crowd control?? We already have late seating, I would hate to be in the LAP and be even a half hour later! We may let the boys eat earlier and then hang in the club until we finish. Something to consider!

I'm glad that we have the early dining time. If we had the late dining I'd end up eating twice and once is plenty! I'd have to snack if I had to wait til 8:30pm to eat.

have a great weekend everyone!

Fiona

On a daily basis, the boys and I have dinner no later then 5:30. So waiting until 8 or 830 will be late for them. On the 4 day, we would get a snack/sandwich at about 4, then by 8 we were hungery again! Steve works until 9, so he usually eats when he gets home...930, 10pm. BAD, I know, but he doesn't have time to eat at work. He does not get a lunch or 2 fifteen minute coffee breaks. He eats while he works, and sometimes he doesn't eat at all. I don't know how he does it, I'd be on the floor passed out. I HAVE to eat. ANYHOW, I think a late seating will be okay for us, but we will have to snack earlier in the evening. But isn't that part of cruising? Eating all day? Hopefully, we can just make healthy snack choices! It sounds like the new Goofy place will be able to help with that!

Michele ~ Thank goodness you fessed-up on the cleaning woman. I fear the rest of us stay at homeies would be in big trouble compared to your daily activities! You're a regular handy girl to have around. :cheer2:

Whoops! :duck: I didn't mean to imply the rest of us are slackers.

I meant this post in jest, but it doesn't seem to be coming across that way, sorry everyone.

and taken in jest! I do most everything around here....except pay bills. He earns the money, he can pay the bills. I do everything else...literally! Mow grass, take the cars in for maintenance, take care of the boys..in all ways they need, any household maintenace,.....It almost sounds like I am whining, and some days I do, BUT Steve works a lot of hours so that I CAN be home with the boys. His job is at the Pharmacy, mine is with the boys. It dawned on me this morning that the yard sale is NEXT WEEKEND! I better get moving and Git-R-Done! I am not near ready! I'll have people stopping on Thurs and Friday too, as I am trying to put stuff out. Steve is off tomorrow and I am hoping he can help me a bit. There is just SO much stuff to take to the garage! I'll have to take a photo to show you! oy!

I see the tag fairy has found our Viking! :wizard:
To bad he doesn't find my poetry to his liking! :sad2:
Would be cool to be tagged! :smooth:
It's just something I've lagged.
If it were pink, I think it'd be striking! princess:
