Cruisetoberfest in NYC:
IMHO this calls for a chat. I'd say as soon as the Bostonians are back from CA we should schedule a chat and talk about dates, where to stay, what to do, etc.

Good morning all. Rain here on LI., again.

Eric - Great idea.

Jean - How is your son doing with the wisdom teeth recuperation?

Anyone watch Rob and Amber get married last night? I'm such a sucker for that stuff. I thought it was beautiful wedding. Between the flying on private jets, and the furnishing of the home and the wedding, they had to have spent half of Amber's Survivor million. But, I know, money somehow begets money, so I'm sure they are doing well. I really wish them a wonderful life and hope it lasts.

Wish we had a million dollars. This going to work thing is getting old...

Andy and I were talking last night and depending on the rate we may be interested in staying in the city also rather than commute back and forth to Long Island. this way we can spend more time with everybody. It should be fun...

We saw Stars Wars on Monday and both really, really liked it. Wish he was going to make more movies though.

Missed Rob and Amber's wedding as we went to the baseball game. It was a really great game even if it was $2 Tuesday which brings out more beer fans than baseball fans. We don't usually go to those games because of this but asked for tickets in the alcohol free zone which thankfully is strictly enforced so it wasn't too bad. Zaun (our catcher) came off the disabled list and is fine as he made a great play at the plate and hit a home run. Two weeks ago he broke up a double play sliding into second and was hit in the head by the second baseman's knee. He was knocked out and lay on the field for 13 minutes before they moved him and took him to the hospital. Very scary to watch. Anyway we ended up beating the Red Sox 9-6.

We would love to go to NYC but we'll have to see.

Fiona

I guess with more rooms to book we could be able negotiate a good price.
A room each for
Jenn & Pete
Jeanne & John
Arlene & Andy
Fiona & Jim
Anja & Eric
Perhaps Rosemary & Richard as well.

And we may also qualify for group rebates at the tourist attractions then.

Talking about tourist attractions: The same goes for us regarding Frankfurt. Anja & I used to live right next door to the Museum of Modern Arts for five year and went there. Apart from the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Natural Science, we usually only see our tourist places when we have visitors from out of Frankfurt. We usually tour one major city per year, and I just recently said to Anja, that in one of the next years we'll have to do a one week vacation in Frankfurt. We know more museums in Paris, London, Munich or Berlin than in our hometown.

OK, no more posts from me today: Will go to the gym after work, then see Episode III, and then pick up Anja from the lateshift.
Tomorrow we have another holiday over here, but Anja has to work the lateshift again. So we'll run 6-8 miles before breakfast tomorrow, have a late breakfast and then I'll shuttle her to work and back.

I watched Rob and Amber's wedding also. I think they are such a cute couple. I wonder if CBS actually paid not only for the furniture but for all the other stuff also. There have been alot of rumors on the Amazing Race threads on other boards what all they got from CBS. I thought it was really nice that she insisted that the designer of her dress be from her hometown and she looked beautiful. I think they should replace Jessica and Nick as the Newlyweds that was shown on MTV. Rob keeps hinting that they have other deals in the works. He does make for great TV.

Have a great day everyone.

Nancy

I dislike Rob with a passion. Especially after what he did on amazing race when he drove right by the accident and did not offer any assistance. Didn't care to watch the wedding. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

Hope that all have a good time in NY. Mike

I doubt they spent even a penny of their own money. If you consider the revenue from primetime advertising you would realize that CBS could foot the bill for everything and still come out ahead.
My son is recuperating very nicely, thanks for asking. He's the 3rd one to have this procedure and came through it the best. My daughter came out and was both nauseated and groggy for the entire first day; my older son was happy and higher than a kite. This one got out of the wheelcar, into the car and started checking his cell phone to see if he had any messages! I guess that's a good thing!

Someone mentioned the Circle Line and I thought of World Yacht. It's like the Circle Line (which no longer goes totally around all of Manhattan), but sails in the evening. It's a dinner cruise with a live band (or possibly DJ) and dancing. We did it once and had a blast but that was maybe 15 years ago. I will check it out onlike and see what the deal is. I think it's called World Yacht Cruise Company.

Hi Folks,
I lied :teeth: I'm online once more today :rotfl2:
Jeanne,
here's the link to World Yacht Company, I just googled it.

Star Wars was cooooool!!! I even watched it in English!! Coincidentally I overheard the guy in front of me ordering a ticket for the English version. When it was my turn I asked if there still was a good seat available. Funnily the same seat I had reserved for the German version was still free.
I liked the movie, can't wait for the DVD ;) I even bought a lightsabre: They had a special combo of Popcorn, Coke and Lightsabre for €7. It's about 6 inches long and flashes blue light

Hi everyone! I haven't visited this thread in weeks, but I just wanted to drop by to say HELLO!

Hi Everyone, Been lurking for awhile. Also trying to catch up on the "Live" thread. :earboy2: Boy is that thread a rocket or what?
All this NYC talk has me homesick. But we've got our DC trip in a little over 3 weeks to look forward to.

House Alert: There is now a Port-O-Potty on our property. Looks like constuction is soon to follow.

Later, Avé

HA,HA.....score one for Papa!!!! Poor Eric, his lightsaber might be blue, but right now his face is RED!

Tracey and Bill: have a wonderful trip.....say hi to all the cruistober fest people for us!

Mike!!! :earseek: :rotfl:

Hey Ave! If its 3 weeks to DC for you, it must be four weeks for us!! :cool1: Glad to see you posting. Happy to hear your porta-potty newsflash! :teeth:

CRSNDSNY - Welcome back to the thread. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NEW BABY!!!!!! Please refresh this old mind of mine and tell me about her. I don't remember anything about a baby or a pregnancy among any cruisers. When we meet, can I hold her?

Winotracy - Have a safe and wonderful trip to sunny Cal-EE-Forn-I-YAY. :sunny:

I'm totally exhausted. So everyone have a good evening and a good night! See you all in 16 months, 2 weeks..... some sooner!! :flower:

Rosemary looking forward to seeing you in Nashville the end of July. Katie will be with us and she is looking forward to seeing all of you. Just watch out for all the road construction and be careful. Turn signals are optional and drivers sometimes ride with them turned on for quite a while. Your campground is about 1 mile from the cracker barrel and about 1 1/2 miles from oprymills mall.

Ave good news about the construction and the porta potty. Just do not use the little purse holder inside that has a hole in the bottom.
Mike

Before we go, I wanted to share a few pictures of me on May 14, helping Peter with the pictures. Kinda geeky, huh :rotfl2:

Forget it, Honey :earboy2:
It takes more than that for a Euopean the have a red face :rotfl2:
And BTW I said '6 inches'!! If I had said 12 inches I could understand your associations :teeth:

Ave,
congrats for the start of the construction!!
BTW, Port-O-Potties are called Dixy-Klos :rotfl2: over here
