Welcome back Nancy and Norm. Glad that you made it home safe and sound.

Hi again Bette and Kim. Take care of yourself and all of the others on the cruise do the same. I know that we wish we were all there with you.

Congratulations to your soccer team Eric and Anja. Hope that things in Germany are going well for you.

If Kathy can get Katie to lie down and take a nap we have some tomato plants that need to be in the ground. Jeanine and all of the rest of the bunch if you are traveling stay safe and wear your seat belts.

Had to take scarlet the volkswagen beetle in this morning to the tire shop as we had picked up a screw in the left front tire causing a slow leak. Had it repaired and now she is good to go. Got to love that 34 mpg around town especially with the high fuel prices. Mike

Glad to hear that you had a great time, Nancy :wave2:
But what is 'Soaring'? :confused3

Mike,
if it is a consolation for you I can put the German fuel prices on The List :teeth: Each time you think your fuel prices are high, you simply have a look at ours and everything will be fine for you again ;)

Nancy,
Glad you had a great trip tp WDW. We had the best time on our recent trip there. So, you liked Soarin? Do you or any of your party suffer from motion sickness? ANy idea on how someone who has trouble even watching the Teacups will do on Soarin?

Soarin' over California is a hang glider simulator. It is outstanding!! We road it at Disney California Adventure. I sometimes get motion sickness (probably would watching the Teacups  ) but had absolutely no problem with Soarin'. The only problem someone would have is with a fear of heights. The lowest row is probably still 10 feet off the ground.

Rosemary is time zone challenged :rotfl2: Rosemary just could not help myself. We still love ya. Mike
Okay, it's true. Numbers and me never did get along. Yep, you love me alright... love to make FUN OF ME!! :rotfl: J/K Love ya right back M and K.

Great photo posting of the Magic going through the canal. Thanks for the links Winotracy and Jim for all those shots! How great was that?

Welcome home Nancy and Norm.

Welcome to Cruisetoberfest IV LisaBi.

Glad to hear from Bette and Kim and that they are having a good time. Sunburn is no fun, however. Please be careful! :sunny: Too bad you couldn't send some of the sun up our way. We could have used a little bit more of it.

Rich and I had a very enjoyable weekend in the RV. Second time out, first time to a rally. Met lots of people and the dogs are exhausted!!! :faint:

Back to work in the a.m. :guilty:

oops...almost forgot. Great photos Eric and Anja. I have to say, not what I expected. I thought you were going to be beachbums. I was expecting sand and sea. :smooth:

Glad that you enjoyed the rv meeting Rosemary. Take care and we will catch you later.

Kim&Bette: Truly, any sketch would be fine as long as it's a genuine sketch and not a repro. If it's not a female villain, I'll leave the selection up to you. And thanks again VERY much!
Nancy: Welcome back! Did you see any of the old R&R performances at the American Pavillion? I'll pm you about this weekend in a day or two...we can swap cell #'s then.
Eric: great photos from Thailand! I agree with Rosemary about them not being what I expected. What a beautiful country and it was refreshing to see that not all is devasted. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
About Soaring......I think I did it 3 times at CA. The first 2 times were great, but the third time I came out feeling somewhat nauseated.....I think that was the time we had the lowest row, so I don't know if that had any affect. I will say that my husband (who absolutely HATES thrill rides) was white-knuckled the entire time and vowed that he would never do it again. I think it's definitely worth trying, but if you dislike heights it might not be your cup of tea.
Is the new stunt show opened at MGM? We saw it in Paris where they call it "Moteurs, Action!"......it's really quite amazing! We saw it once, and then when we learned all the secrets had to go back and watch it again....it was still amazing!
Tomorrow we're doing the wisdom teeth thingy again....this will be my 3rd child to have all 4 of his unerupted w.t. removed at one time. Looks like I'll be playing nursemaid for the next few days.

Jeanne--- We saw Gary Puckett and Orleans. Gary Puckett was very good and he had more hits than Orleans so you tend to remember his songs more. Orleans was good but really only played 2 songs I remember. My all time favorite is still Paul Revere. I think next year I will have to schedule my trip around when he is going to be at Epcot. Good luck with the wisdom tooth removal.

The new car stunt show is open at MGM. The guys all loved the show, in fact DS#2 said it was his favorite thing. It must be a male thing with the cars. I thought it was good, but I can wait a few years to see again. Norm normally hates thrill rides also but he really did like Soarin. We were lucky that we were in the first row all three times. I was afraid I would get motion sickness also since I can't stand spinning around and don't really like the IMAX shows that have the fly overs, but it didn't bother me. Jeanne you will appreciate this, DS#1 had to make a comment about the editing of the show.

The only thrill ride I did this trip was TOT. Since my back injury last year, I didn't want to chance the other rides. Thunder Mt is my favorite, but I restrained myself and didn't go on it. DS#2 friend was a Disney virgin so had fun showing him around. Though he mainly came for the golf, but did enjoy the parks.

Mike--- I'm afraid to plant any flowers yet let alone tomatoes with the crazy PA weather. We were hoping to mulch this weekend, but with cold and rainy weather forcasted I guess we will hold off doing that for another week or two.

Rosemary-- Glad you are enjoying your RV. We used to always camp in the PA state parks when we had our RV. I have 3 state parks within an hour drive from York so we could easily do them on the weekends.

Eric and Anja--- I also enjoyed the pictures. One of the nurses at work had been there last year so I wasn't surprised that it wasn't all beach photos. It is the same nurse who cruised down the Rhine last year, she is currently in Egypt now.

Welcome to Lisa and family.

Tracy--- I see that you will be leaving soon for your trip. Have a great time.

Back to the real world tomorrow.

Nancy

Thanx for the explanation of Soarin', Tracy.

Talking about our pictures: We did 2 1/2 days of sightseeing in Bangkok and 1 day on Phuket, spent 2 days diving, and 6 days exclusively at the beach. :sunny: Travelling so far it would have been a shame not trying to get in touch with Thailand's culture. We're planning to do another 2 weeks next year same time to see more of that wonderful country.
As so many of you obviously like those pictures, I'll upload more in the next days.
And I will do the same when we return from Vienna, where we will do only sightseeing - no beach at all :rotfl2:

This evening we'll have another training session on the River Main to get prepared for the Dragonboat Race next weekend.

Nancy: I think it's so funny that you were a big fan of PR&R.......when I was about 12 or 13 I was so in love with Mark Lindsay, I couldn't think of anything else! We'll have to get together next year when they appear at Epcot again...it would really be a hoot. I remember Gary Puckett very well....is he still with the Union Gap? I actually saw him preform many, many years ago (when he was still on the charts) at a free concert in Central Park. Orleans sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't remember what they sang. I hope you got to see the Survivor finale....there were some very interesting interpersonal dynamics.
Start thinking of a nice little place in or near Gettysburg....I hope we can meet this Saturday.

Still the One
Love Take Time
Dance with Me

Still the One is one of my all time favorite songs. "We're still having fun, and you're still the one..." :goodvibes

Tracy: Thanks for the memory jog! I just got caught in a time warp. The reason I couldn't remember them is because they are so much more recent than most of the other artists performing at Epcot which were circa mid-to-late '60's........Orleans is probably more like an '80's group, right?
By the way, have a GREAT time on your upcoming trip....you guys must be so excited to be able to greet the Magic on its maiden voyage west! Watch out for those wacko CA drivers!

Thanks so much! We can't wait to go! Three more days! We are meeting a few DISers from our August cruise on Thursday and Friday and joining a group at the port on Saturday.

You are correct, the Orleans were more of a 80's group. Dance with Me and Still the One were much earlier than Love Takes Time. :dancer:

Just got off the phone with Peter and Jenn in Acapulco! Phone service is back!

Here's a picture of Mickey with the Captain.

We just returned from our practice run with the Dragonboat on the River Main. We had a better instructor today, exchanged our drummer, and I took over as the pacemaker. The boat is like a giant canoe seating up to 20 paddlers. In the stern there's the instructor who also steers the boat. In the bow there's the drummer facing the team from an elevated seat beating the drum and thus dictating the speed. Today we were 16 paddlers seated in 8 rows and managed due to the rearrangement of roles (New drummer, new pacemaker) to get everyone synchronized, thus improving our speed: We managed 13.5 km/h/8.5 mph downriver and 10.9 km/h/6.8mph upriver (I wore my wrist-GPS). The race will be 300m/984ft upriver. We did a series of simulated race-starts and then a simulated race. Unfortunately not everybody is as fit as Anja & I - Especially the other pacemaker -a smoker- wasn't. He stopped paddling 80m before the finish-line, but after I nearly blew away his ear shouting (Exact wording not admissible due to posting rules :teeth: ) he continued til we crossed the line. I hope that during the real race on Saturday morning our team will be in even better shape, but I guess with the additional adrenaline it should be OK.
I'll uplaod some pics next week after the race.

Eric good luck with the race. They have the right task master in charge. :rotfl: Tell gramps we said hello and hope that everything is going well.

Tracy have a safe trip and enjoy yourself.

Have dinner to make so TTFN. Mike

Welcome back, Renee :cool1: :wave2:
Tracy,
I count on you to apply a fitting punishment for Mark in August :teeth:
Or I have to make a short detour to Long Island in October :earboy2:
Renee - So glad to see you posting again and such a great shot of Haley and Tabatha. Haley still is a cutie patootie!! :teeth:

ummmm Mr. Viking man... Hello???? IF you make a short detour to Long Island in October, never minding revenging on people, WE have first dips on you and Anja. And I think maybe Andy and Arlene may feel the same. So don't you be forgetting about us guys, ya hear!?!?!

Tracy - Have fun on your upcoming mini-DIS meet. I would love to do a CF chat one day soon. Still need to look into getting a microphone thingamjig and check out that talking via internet stuff. Thanks once again for keeping us up-to-date here regarding Panama cruise thread. Great plan of Peter/Jen to get you those camera phone photos for posting. Made things very exciting here for a while on the DIS! :D

EDITED TO ADD: Goofynut - Please check your PM's. Sent you one on 5/19 which has not been read yet. Hope all is okay. BTW - no update as yet to that PM. Thanks, RT

Rosemary,
meeting you guys is a sure thing!! But we haven't heard anything from Arlene & Andy yet :guilty: I guess I'll have to send them a mail regarding our visit. They haven't been on the Boards in the last weeks anyway.

Peter & Jenn will be looking for an NYC-hotel when they return from sunny California. Also a lady from our gym is in NYC right now and will give us a first-hand-report about the hotel she's staying at upon her return. Her hotel sounds like a great, but it will be good to have some reliable first-hand info ;)

Eric:

Andy and I would love to meet up with you guys when you come to our part of the country. The 'Odd Couple' is coming to Broadway in October starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick and was wondering if anybody was interested in getting tickets. Or being that these are disney people go for the lion king.

Arlene
