Thanks Renee. The time is 11-am on April 3 in the main lobby of the air and space museum at the Smithsonian on the mall in DC. Easiest way to get there is by using the metro. Here is a link to the metro site. Metro Mike

Renee,
congratulations on pst #1300:Pinkbounc :bounce:

And I would like to ask a little favour from you, Renee: If there is a guidebook available at the DC-Zoo, could you get one for us, please? Anja and I collect guidebooks from major zoos and we would of course reimburse you for it.
Mike & Kathy,
the same goes for the Smithonian Air & Space Museum. I would love to have a guidebook from that place. Could you please get one?

We envy Y'all for that visit, Washington and the New England states are on top of our 'shopping list' for future vacations, together with Denver and the Wild West. BTW we will also be on a sightseeing trip that weekend, but in Old England: We'll be in London from 03/07-04/03. So if anybody needs something from there, we'd be happy to bring it for you.

JeanneG,
PixieDust *~*~*~*~*~*~* in advance to your son, four extractions in day doesn't sound like fun :scared1:

Bette & Kim,
sorry to hear about your repeated cabin trouble :(

I also have to write to DCL this week, because I have to make sure that our docs arrive in time, as we will depart for the States three weeks before the cruise. If they can't manage that, we'll have to pick them up at the Terminal again or have them sent to Twinave. I also hope that they have linked our ressies for dinner. I mailed it in November using snail-mail and haven't heard from them since then - Although I gave them my email, my fax and two phone-numbers. Additionally they didn't respond on two requests for an upgrade to Cat 6 or 7 for which we would be willing pay the difference ($800-1000). If it doesn't work out I'll probably buy a laptop in the US ;) But I'll try it again with my next fax to them. We want to have at least a cabin with a split bath, because this saves a lot of time especially in the evening, but a Verandah would also be swell - We're used it, spoiled as we are :teeth:

Wow, I didn't even know I got #1300!

Eric - No problem about getting the guide book from the zoo for you.

Talk to you later.

Renee'

Hi Guys, Kim here...

For all of us sharing a table for dinner, we need to come up with a table name, get the creative juices flowing.

Also, I am taking over for colleen on the cell phone list, if you want to e-mail me cell phone #'S and where they will work from I will start putting together a list and get it out to everyone.

Bye, Kim:wave:

Kim will do one Better than the Verandah ... u can use the couch in our cabin and i think mom will Enjoy the library ......

So this Dc thing is April 3rd...

Jenneg--- I liked either the WLTP (We like to party) or DCL- HS(Happy Sailors). I have to think a long time to come up with titles. Every time I have to put a new presentation together, once I get past the title the rest seems easy. I'm glad I am not the only one that has young adults who need their wisdom teeth out. Both my sons need to have it done, it just hasn't worked into their schedules. They don't want to take up their breaks with recovering and the summer they both have jobs. It is on our 2 do list before they graduate from college and my insurance will cover it. We have problems just getting their teeth cleaned.

Kim and Bette-- I can't believe that the cabin problem is occuring again. I hope things work out. Maybe all of us that have an extra bed can let you sleep in each room one or two nights. That way you get to see all the different types of rooms and locations.

I did watch Jim last night. Was that a real room on the Magic that would have wooden bunk beds?

Also watched Idol, that last singer was awesome. I think it was Latoya. Best one yet.

I have April 3rd marked on my calendar. I believe that is the day the Cherry Festival parade is, so the Metro will be the best way to get around.

Nancy

Hi guys,

Thanks for the bed offers mom & I appreciate that. Hopefully they do not mess this up again, I wonder if they have on file what happened last year to us ??? Maybe the pixie dust will fall and DCL takes pity on us :rotfl::faint: and puts us in a suite if so, everyone can sleep with us...

I am however definately bringing the reciepts showing that we have money paid on account for our end of cruise charges, no way on earth will I trust that without proof.

We have given it thought and are now leaning towards flying down late thursday and going directly to the radisson. Hopefully in the next month SW opens the airfare reservations for that time.

here is a :grouphug: for our table mates, lets get some name ideas for our fantastic group....

Peter & Jenn, Did you get the PM I sent you for the ID holders ?? PLMK.

Guess I should get back to work,

Bye, Kim

Arlene and Mary: any ideas for a name for our dining group?

Nancy: I know what you mean about the insurance....that's predisely why we're rushing to do it during spring break. In fact, my younger son needs the same procedure, but he has lots of time being insured so we'll wait until summer vacation. I would have had him done during spring break as well just to get it over with, but he's traveling to Europe....lucky kid.

About American Idol: Yes, that last girl was fantastic. I also have a soft spot in my heart for that gal with the bright pink hair (love the voice, hate the hair!) She sings like Celine and looks like Cindy Lauper! I think the Bulgarian girl has great potential, but is a little young for the competition. I find her stage mother very annoying.

According to Jim: what a bad show.......I don't even know if I"ll watch the second part! I thought the same thing about the bed......don't remember ever seeing a wooden one before.

I'll be out of town for a few days......DD will be competing in the
Patriot league championships at the US naval Academy in Annapolis. Her individuals are 200 breast, 400 IM and 1650 free (mile). DH and I always joke that at least we get our money's
worth: some parents sit around for 5 hours and watch their child swim for less than half a minute....at least we get to see her swim for about 18 minutes straight!

Good luck for your DD, Jeanne!!
Sounds like she's our kind of girl: We're sport-aholics too. A day without a work-out is a lost day :yo-yo: For us it's running, in-line skating, badminton, pumping iron and aerobics. We usually work out five days a week. But this year we'll also have to integrate swimming into our training schedule, as we intend to a lot more diving this summer. Fortunately our gym has two pools, one for swimming lanes and one for aquarobics. But I think I'd need at least half an hour for a mile ;)

Danke schön, Renee :wave2:

Folks,

here are some prepositions for common activities before and during the cruise, some are already arranged, some we just tentatively talked about:
10-01
-Dinner at the Grill with a great view of passing cruise ship in and out of the Port Click here for info and menue
-Party at the pool of the Radisson Hotel at Port Canaveral
10-02
-Greet'n'Meet for everybody wearing a CruisetoberfestIII-Tee in the Terminal
-Lunch on the open deck behind Topsiders
-Official CruisetoberfestIII-Meeting during Sail-Away-Party on Deck 10, Starboard-side, above Goofy-Pool

-During one of the Sea-Days: Official Group-picture taken by the Shutters-Photographer. We did it last time and it makes a great memory for just (gulp  ) 20 Bucks. We all met in the entrance hall in front of Lumieres and the photographer then took the pic, which was then available for purchase at Shutters.
-Karaoke-Night: We have an extremely talented singer in our group (Time to blush, Andy :teeth: ) and it really was great to hear him sing. This time we must make sure that he wins the contest!!!! Your support is needed!!!!
-Last time we had a lot of people who met for a morning walk on Deck 4
-What about working out together in the Gym or run some miles around the ship? - Wherelse do you have the chance to run with approximately 30 miles per hour? :hyper:
-Meeting at Serenety Bay on CC for some fun, playing ball, dunking people (Hello Cathy:jester: ), etc pirate:
-Try to fill at least three rows in the Theater during 'Who wants to be a Mouseketeer?' to make sure that at least one of our group gets into the Hot Seat (I'll try my best to get onto the Panel ;) )

Always remember: We're on vacation, everything is voluntary, there aren't any mandatory items. The only thing where punctuality counts will be the group photo.

Eric we will be happy to get you a guide book at the air and space museum in German. Hope that all is well in Frankfort. Mike

Wow, Eric, sounds like lots of fun.....count me in for just about everything beginning 10/2 and beyond.
I, too, am fanatical about exercise, but you'd never know it to look at me. What can I say, I got all the bad genes? Just curious, what is the walking pace? I can't jog (bad back), but I hate to stroll. I'd love some partners for a 2-mile brisk walk in the early a.m. (14-15min/mile pace). I was so proud of myself last cruise....I never took the elevator once.....it was my way of atoning for all those luscious desserts. We were on Deck 7, so I really felt it returning from the ports, but I was determined not to give in. Wish I could say the same about DH.....he was good when he was with me, but the kids ratted on him and said he used the elevator when I wasn't around!!! Even so, I gained about 5 pounds onboard......

Do they have eliptical machines at the gym? and if so, how many?

Thanks for all the well wishes for DD. She started to go to school today, but once again got sick on her way to the bus stop. But she is better now, and plans on going to school tomorrow. Glad everyone enjoyed the smiley.
I miss the Jim show thing. I to was not feeling well on Tuesday, and went to bed as soon as I got home.

 Hi Mike, I hear congrats are in order for your big weight loss. Keep up the good work. Now how are we going to be twins ? I guess I will have to start a diet too.

26 lbs since Christmas. We will still be twins Art. Looking forward to seeing you all in DC on April 3.

Peter went to the dentist today for a cleaning and I have to have a wisdom tooth removed next week due to it being impacted.

Ave tell DD if anyone sees her hurling again to say that she is conducting a science experiment. They just need to stand closer and see if she can hit their shoes.

Mike

Vielen Dank, Mike  But I'd prefer an English copy, please. The German translations are often awful and as 90% of the books I read are English anyway, it shouldn't be a problem. Due to my work in the aviation business I also know the special vocabulary required.
