Ave,
at least we have seasons :teeth: :hyper:
This morning it was freezing for the first time: -2ºC/28ºF. All the cars' windshields were completely frosted - except for ours: That remote-controlled preheater I had installed last year is so great!!
All the windows are free of ice and the interior of the car is cozy. Add our heated seats and you can really like winter ;) Would love to have white Xmas. Last year it worked out fine and as we'll spend the holidays in the northernmost part of our country we may be lucky again.

Happy Birthday Fiona!

Eric, nice that Jeff will be working so close to you!

Peter....just keep digging, just keep digging, digging.....

Suecot2000...don't worry about keeping up. Just read/post when you can::yes:: (LOVE those NY pretzels!)

Thanks everyone! Not quite old enough to drink though!!

We missed all the snow so just have a dusting of snow on the ground here although we went to friends' house this afternoon for a Christmas open house. They live about 20 minutes north of us and they have snow on the ground although not too much. Not enough to shovel thankfully!!

Took out the Christmas china this morning -- it's not all put away yet though as we have to find space for it. Collection started when I was a teenager and couldn't think of anything for Christmas -- it's grown a bit since then. Totally decadent to have china used just for Christmas!! Am hoping DS will get the Dept 56 houses out this week. He does a really good job of arranging them on top of the piano. We have the Dickens Village series although I think the Disney houses are adorable.

Hope everyone who got snowed on is ok.

Fiona

Hi everyone--- We got back from WDW this afternoon. Since we were in Florida we missed the snow and our neighbor snowblowed our driveway for us so didn't have to deal with that when we got back. However, since the snow was so heavy my bushes were nearly flat with the Christmas lights laying on the steps. So Norm removed the snow and redid the lights. Nothing like doing them twice.

We had a great time in WDW. With my AP got a great rate for AKL savanhanna view which was really great. We really liked AKL and would stay there again for the right price. It was warm Thursday and part of Friday, but Sat was really cool with a wind chill factor of 40. We had our winter coats, hats, and gloves on as the wind was really blowing. Of course, I shouldn't complain since I wasn't home dealing with the snow. We did MVMCP on Thursday and Candlelight Procession 2x. Rita Moreno was wonderful as the narrator on Friday night, she was really into it. Miss America did Sunday night and we didn't enjoy her as the narrator. She was expressionless throughout the entire thing. It was a sharp contrast compared to Rita Moreno. We had really great meals eating at Boma, LeCellier, and Teppanyaki. I finally got brave enough to do Mission Space. We had 3 hours until we were to have dinner, so thought if I felt sick would have time to recover before dinner. The ride didn't bother me at all, so will be doing it on future trips. Of course today as the weather was heating back up, we had to come. Will start to watch for discounts for hotels and airlines and maybe will take another trip before the winter is over especially if it is going to be snowing like last winter.

Happy Belated Birthday Fionna. I forgot you also have the Dickens Village. Mine is all out and am restraining from buying any more houses. You just start to run out of room after awhile. At last count I have 30 houses. Mine will stay up until end of Feb or early March.

I'm heading off to bed early. Since I am back to the real world tomorrow.

Nancy

Welcome home Nancy and Norm! Sounds like you had fun AND picked the right time to go::yes::

I am SO disapointed with the final of "Average Joe"! I think she made a poor choice!

Ave ..we have the same Seasons here:teeth: There was a lot of frost on the ground today. That is as close as I want to get to snow!!!!

Have a fun Cookie Night! We want to read details!I am assuming it has something to do with ....baking cookies???eating cookies???

Oh Mary, I so agree with you. I actually woke up in the middle of the night and starting thinking about poor Adam and his broken heart! Whatever was that girl thinking? If I were just a few decades younger, I'd go after him myself! I actually found his looks more attractive than "pretty boy".......Adam's smile was so engaging, I can't understand how anyone could turn him down! I'm thinking they probably will bring him back for a show where he does the choosing, but my husband disagrees....he says he has too much class!

Well, we got back from our NC mountain wedding. Not too much snow or ice, and they did a great job of plowing and sanding the roads. In Charlotte, I think we have about one or two snow plows and they "slag" the streets when we get snow or ice. The whole city can be paralyzed for days if we get a little snow or ice. Very, very windy up in the mountains. Highs were in the 30's & lows in the 20's, but the wind chill factor must have been much lower. Reminded me of our hometown of Chicago and why we left. The wedding was very nice and it was great to see people we hadn't seen in years. There were about 15 people who couldn't make due to the bad weather.

I haven't watched Average Joe, but there is a lot of Survivor coming up this week. The usual hour on Thursday and then a 3 hour finale this Sunday. If Jon wins somehow, I don't think I will ever watch the show again. Altho I said the same thing when Jenna won, and I am still addicted to the show.

No snow so far in Frankfurt, but morning temps of -6ºC/21ºF:scared1:

I just finished burning my first DVD. After work I picked up my new external DVD-drive and as the installation was a piece of cake I already did my first disk. It holds as many photos as about 6 CDs, which will save a lot of space on my shelf.

Another day done. Looking forward to Sat. Got some shopping to do, and some stuff to get done before the the "holiday week" starts.
Had to bring my kitty to the vet. :( She has a large wound on her front leg. She had to be sedated, leg shaved, and the wound cleaned and sutured up. She did NOT like me much when I picked her up.
