1 Summer, 2 Coasts, 3 Kids...Ready, Set, Go!

My 2 morning meetings got cancelled so I am pretty much free until 11 or until something else comes up.

So, I left off that we just left California Adventure and were headed to Disneyland. We pass through the gates and really have no clue what we want to do. People are beginning to line up for parade and America's College Band is playing. We take a few photopass pictures and head toward the castle and Fantasyland. We see a door and decide to tour Sleeping Beauty's castle. It is somewhat cute. It has little pictures depicting the movie and such. We then take the path past BBB and toward the Princess Hall place. The day before we saw Rapunzel and Flynn meeting and we wanted to see if Flynn was out. Nope, but it was Merida. I was happy because we had read before the trip that she had stopped greeting, but maybe they just took away her dedicated meet and greet place. So, we had fun with her. Marissa asked her what her favorite ride was. She said she had never been asked that one before. Marissa narrowed it down to her favorite mountain and she talked about loving to go to Grizzly Peak Recreation Area and climbing through there, but she had been banned because she and her brothers went swimming in the river. I told her that she wasn't supposed to be drowning her brothers is why. She said it wasn't her fault that her brothers heads got caught under her hands. It was really a fun interaction.

We then saw that there was noone in line for the Princess Hall meet and greet place. The Belle show was going on, so maybe that is why. We waited less than 2 minutes before they let us in. Around the corner and our first princess was Ariel. Then rounded another corner to Cinderella. Our last princess was Snow White. We rounded a corner and our hearts melted. There was a companion dog meeting her. She was sitting on the ground rubbing his tummy and he was in heaven. He laid his head on her lap and just looked up at her lovingly. I had to take a picture. He did not want to leave Snow White. He had to be carried out and he was kind of a big dog. After we left Snow White, we exited the door and saw...Flynn!!! Another great character meet. He was fun. By this time, it was hot and Marissa was ready for another water ride and wanted to go to Splash Mountain. We walked over there and the line was already 90 minutes. Fast pass time. 3 of us got a return time of 7:10 - 8:10 and one got 7:15 - 8:15. So, with our RSR fastpasses at 8:30, it was going to be a rush.

We were hot and hungry so we stopped right across at Hungry Bear again. Chelsea got the Nestle chocolate chip cookie icecream sandwich. I got the lemon "bumblebee" cupcake (so good). Marissa got the funnel cake with only powdered sugar and Jacob got his funnel cake with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream. We headed to the downstairs seating. The little cute ducks were wondering around begging for food. We didn't feed them, but once Marissa reached down to get in her bag and the mean duck bit her finger! Beware of the ducks! We decide it is time to head to Tomorrowland. Chelsea and I ride Buzz Lightyear (again about 10 minutes) and Jacob and Marissa head to Innoventions for the Captain America meet & greet. Chelsea and I ride and head over to get in the Captian America line too. We were behind Jacob and Marissa by several families. At one point, the line gets to a common area and the CM asks for us to fill in all the gaps, but the people in front of us are refusing and staying in line. I ask the CM if I can join Jacob and Marissa and he tells me sure. Finally we are up and talking to the CM named Arturo. He was there in April and he really is fantastic. Soon we are meeting Captain America and he assigns us super hero poses. I hated mine and I think the photopass picture turned out stupid. Not at all pleased about it.

At this time, Jacob and Marissa are wanting to shop Main Street and Chelsea doesn't. So, I agree to take her to Enchanted Tiki Room. I had never done it. Now that I have, I really don't have any desire to do it again. She really wanted me to go on Jungle Cruise, so we went next door and got in line. Not too long of a wait, but more than 10 minutes. Jacob and Marissa had gone to Mr. Lincoln and Jacob found his Tinker Bell cup. We meet back up with them and try to figure out what to do next. Chelsea wants to do Star Tours but it was a bit of a line. We are able to get fastpasses, so our return time was 6:35 - 7:35. I was surprised because I didn't think they let you overlap fastpass times. So, it is about 5 and we have time to kill, again. Back to Fantasyland.

We ride Snow White's Scary Adventure. Marissa is excited to sit in a seat that millions of behinds have sat in for so many years. She was surprised it was so dark. Just wait for the next ride. She and Chelsea ride it together and Jacob and I ride. We are onto Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. This is a crazy storyline. We end up getting hit by a train and going to hell. Yup. Disney sent us to hell. What a ride! The faces of Marissa and Chelsea when we got off was funny. They were kind of shocked that Disney would actually have us die and go to hell on a ride.

Jacob is hungry but not the rest of us, but our three fastpasses are back to back and across the park and at a different park, so better eat now. We head to Village Haus. We liked this at WDW so thought to try it at Disneyland. Chelsea and I share a cheeseburger. Marissa gets a burger and Jacob chooses the Pastrami Cheeseburger without the horseradish sauce. We all enjoyed our food. Jacob then decided that he needed the souvenir cup. He had $7.65 left. The cup was $6.99 and he needed help with the tax. I figured it out for him and told him the amount with tax and that he had enough. He wasn't too sure I was right. Even though Oregon doesn't have sales tax, I have lived in many states with it and can figure out what things will cost. He went up and ordered it and his total was what I told him. :yay:

Time for Star Tours. The wasn't too long. Not sure why you would need to fastpass this ride either. It lets you skip the outside queue but you join the standby line fairly early. We had to wait 30 minutes to ride. We got the back row. I have never had the back row, but was surprised that my feet didn't touch the ground. The CM made a comment about how Marissa would be thrown around the most because she was by the door. Yup, we were bruised and beaten after that ride. I will never sit in the back row again. Without feet touching, you can't brace yourself. We now have to rush across the park to Splash Mountain. The Standby line is no longer posting the wait minutes. They have completely filled the extended queue. It looked like at least 3 hours. We were thankful to have the fast pass. We were on and off in 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes, I am not sure what happened, because the fastpass line now had a 90 minute expected wait. I really felt sorry for those people. But, we had to rush to California Adventure (not rush too much, because we took the train) for the RSR. We got there 3 minutes before our fastpass time according to our phones, but I noticed the clock at the ride already said 8:30 so I said let's go. Jacob was not happy about this. It was not 8:30 by his clock...darn the Asperger's. I convince him it is ok and we are finally in line. Only about 20 minutes and our car lost. I think standing in line for the picture took longer than the wait and ride did combined. Marissa really wanted to ride ToT at dark, so she and Jacob took off and Chelsea and I got in the line for Mater's tractors again. When we got off, Marissa had texted that the line was too long for Tot and they were sitting on a bench by the Mad T Party. We met them there, but when I passed ToT the line didn't look too long, so I made them go, even though they were tired. Chelsea and I hung out and did some bench dancing and watched others dance down the street. It took them 25 minutes and it was just a few minutes till park close, so we headed out. Waited forever for our bus and where back to our room by 11. I tried to write my notes and quickly crashed.

Holy mother of meet and greets, Batman!

WOWZERS! You did A LOT of rides first off then when you went to DL it was all crazy with the meets! How awesome! Sounds like a lot of fun was had! I can't wait to see more photos! popcorn::

Bummer on the 8:30 time crunch there... but I guess the day couldn't go perfectly, right? :confused3

And the food, again, sounds super nummy!!! I am now craving funnel cakes, thankyouverymuch! :lmao:

We really did have some great character meets. It truly was fun.

We were stressed but not too stressed. It happened to work out great, but I was expecting getting stuck on some ride and missing one of the rides. It all worked out and was fun. If we had the 90 minute wait in the FP line for Splash though, that would have messed me up. I wouldn't have waited.

And the food, again, sounds super nummy!!! I am now craving funnel cakes, thankyouverymuch! :lmao:

We lucked out on the food this trip. We really enjoyed every meal.

Soon you will be in Disney yourself and having a blast.

We don't usually spend three days in the park, but I decided we should since we were going busy season. So, when we first woke up on the 3rd day, I made a list of everyone's really want to do items.

Disneyland
Me - Music of Nashville show and Mickey and the Magic Map show.
Chelsea - Autotopia, Space Mountain, Matterhorn and ride a Main Street Vehicle.
Marissa - soft serve ice cream
Jacob - Tinker Bell

California Adventure
Me - Animation Studio
Chelsea - Symphony Swings
Marissa - Screamin and Toy Story Midway Mania
Jacob - he was good

Did we get to do everything we wanted? To be continued....(Sorry I have another meeting.)

We have our lists ready and we head for breakfast a little later than usual. We eat quickly and get to the bus stop at 7:01. So, we were still expecting to see the bus, except today, it was right on time at 7. After waiting a few minutes, we saw it headed back to DL. We did not want to wait, so we walked. We made it to DL before opening, but not by much. We decided we would start with Space Mountain. They let us in and we line up at the rope going into Tomorrowland. They have a character breakfast at the restaurant and the characters were waving and being funny in the windows at those of us waiting. I took some pictures. Captain Hook, Tigger, Max, and others. Really random as to what characters are there. We struck up a conversation with a woman and her 10 year old grandson. Apparently, they made a deal with each of their grandkids that when they were 10, they would spend a month in California with the grandparents. They got to do all sorts of things. It sounded tons of fun and it was their 3rd and last day for Disneyland as well. It helped pass the time. Soon, we were with the others on the mad dash to Space Mountain. It always surprises me when someone stops to ride Buzz Lightyear. The line at the most is usually 20 - 30 minutes. Just meant less people for Space Mountain. 20 minutes later we were riding. Now, Marissa and I were seated together and Jacob and Chelsea were seated behind us. In front of me, there was a girl that raised her hands the second she got in the ride. I was a bit miffed, because I knew she was going to ruin my picture. So, I of course fixated on that. Plus she had really long hair that kept touching me and I really wanted to give it a big tug right when the flash went off, but I was good. I didn't rip her hair out. However, when we were waiting to disembark, Marissa showed me the 2 1/2 inch bolt that had fallen at her feet during the ride. She thought something came out of her purse, but no. It was a long bolt with the washer. :rolleyes1 I told her she needed to give it to the CM and tell her, but she didn't want to make a scene. So, I forced her to. The poor CMs face. Her eyes were huge and she turned a bit of a greenish hue. We pointed to the car. The CM asked if it came from the ride or the car. Marissa said it was dark so she wasn't sure. Just that she felt it land on her foot. She thanked us and off we went. We later heard that Space Mountain was down for maintenance but it was for less than an hour.

Our next ride we wanted was Autotopia. It was down for maintenance, so Matterhorn was next on list. We waited in line. Took less than 30 minutes. Three of us thought ouch, Chelsea loved it. Next, we went to see Tinker Bell. There was a 15 minute wait. It is outdoors but you can't see the character until you are admitted in. I was surprised to see Rosetta. Yay! Then we met Tinker Bell. It was funny. All the characters cater to Chelsea, I guess because she was the youngest. So, after the group photo, I asked if Tinker Bell could take a picture with just Jacob. She was surprised at first but quickly agreed. Jacob was very happy.

We then headed toward the train to go to Main Street and saw that Autotopia was now up and running. We got in line. Longest line so far. Well, the girls in the car in front of us, kept letting their car die. They took selfies and were just a pain. The CMs had to come out to their car 3 times. We were less than happy with them.

We jumped on the train to Main Street and headed out of Disneyland to California Adventure. Jacob and Marissa went to Screamin' and Chelsea and I headed to Symphony Swings. She and I rode twice and met up with Jacob and Marissa at Toy Story Mania. The line was very long and we voted to skip it. It was pretty hot at this point, so we bought a couple of Sprites and decided to go eat at DTD.

We were going to eat at Rainforest Cafe. Little did I know that they had an AMC movie theater right across from them and Guardian of the Galaxy had been just released that day. :headache: We get seated right away. Apparently, Marissa doesn't like thunder. However, she was being determined to have us see the movie. She checked out times and prices. So, looks like we would see a movie and the rest of the day was up in the air.

Marissa had the tomato basil soup and the pepperoni flatbread pizza off the appetizer menu. Chelsea had the 1/4 rotisserie chicken of the kids menu, Jacob had the China Island Chicken Salad and I got Jacob's 2nd choice - Bamba's BBQ wrap. Well, he loved the salad so I ended up having to eat the wrap. It wasn't bad, just wasn't great. The rest loved their food. After lunch, we headed to the movie theater to buy tickets. It was a little after noon and the next show was at 2 (she wouldn't shell out the money for IMAX or 3D). The regular show was $10.75 / person, so I didn't blame her. That meant I had to choose between Nashville and Magic Map. I chose Magic Map...more Disney. We have some time to kill, so since the monorail stop was right there, we decided to take a roundtrip ride. Still have to go through bag check and have your tickets verified, because it stops in Tomorrowland. It was nice to get that view of the parks. I found it interesting. We still had time to kill so we browsed in some shops. 45 minutes before the movie, we decided to just go there and hang out. Since it was the first 2D movie of the day, they were allowing you to go in and sit...Yay, air conditioning. The movie was really good. We all enjoyed it, but I was ready to get back to Disneyland. Jacob had been joking that he wanted to meet Anna & Elsa and he would wait in the long line. We thought he was joking. We went to the ampitheater where the Magic Map was held and we still had about 45 minutes before the show, but Disneyland was packed. It looked like a 2 hour wait for It's a Small World. Insane. So, we went to a snack cart and Marissa bought a souvenir bucket of popcorn. I bought a pretzel sausage dog for Jacob and Chelsea and I shared pretzel bites with cheese. It really did hit the spot and before too long they were letting us find a seat. We had great seats. I wasn't sure what to expect, but some of the reviews I read said this was really great, so I wanted to see. At one point Pocahontas comes out and sing, followed by Mulan...two of Marissa's favorites. I glance over and she is tearing up. Then there is stitch too dancing to one of Jacob's favorite songs and they sing his favorite song from Lion King. He is a happy kid too. Chelsea loved it all. So glad I chose this over Nashville.

After the show, the girls want to leave. Chelsea wants to swim and I want to nap...not sure what Marissa had in mind, she just wanted to go back to motel. Jacob wanted to get in the Anna & Elsea meet and greet line. It had been around 210 minutes the entire time we were there. We go to the line and it is only 90 minutes, so he decides to stay. We give him Chelsea's Olaf bag and her autograph book and leave him there. We head to the bus. It took us 45 minutes to get back to hotel. Marissa and Chelsea change to swim. Jacob comes back less than 30 minutes after we are back. The line ended up being less than 60 minutes. He said it was lots of fun. The CM letting him in kept telling him he could go grab his family and he kept telling them it was just him. Finally, he told them that it was just him, his family went back to the hotel. So, they let him in. The pictures turned out cute and I am a bit jealous. Just because he got to meet them together.

We packed up our stuff, ate leftover snacks and went to bed fairly early. It was our last night there and we were beat. It was a good trip for all of us.

SQUEEE! Go Jacob! I totally would have stayed too! How awesome to meet A&E! And with the Olaf bag! I bet that was pretty cool! :cool1: I absolutely can not wait to see the photos!!!

Again, seems like a very busy and productive day of touring! I can't believe you even squeezed a movie in there! LOL!

A little venting. I just love it when someone argues with me and is so wrong but doesn't realize it. We were having a staff going away party and Universal and Disney came up. My boss mentioned that when she went to Universal Islands of Adventure during Spring Break 2013 she stood in line for the Harry Potter line for 6 hours and for that reason she would never go back. She did however like Disney because they had fastpasses. Another coworker chimes in that fastpasses would be nice but it always cost too much to add them to her tickets. I was like, "hold up a minute. You mean they charge at Universal because Disney fastpasses are free." She insisted she meant Disney and she never paid the add on fee because it was too much and so she had never used fastpasses and she didn't really like Disney because she didn't like to pay not to wait in line. I tried to explain that it was indeed available to everyone but she wasn't buying it. Oh well, one less person I have to worry about getting my fastpass.

Yup- some people are beyond our help! Breathe in, breathe out, let it go and go to Disney and have the time of your life using all your FREE fast passes!! :)

We got our magic bands yesterday! Plus we got a $50 giftcard in mail from Disney Visa. I got one right before Disneyland and put all our gas and food on it. If you charged a certain amount in 1st few months you got the giftcard. I didn't expect it so quickly though.

Chelsea and I went to Shopko and bought our Nike flip flops. Of course they match and she got the size 6 and I got size 7. I can't believe how fast her feet are growing. Plus, we got her a new bathing suit on clearance. I noticed her old one was a bit small while at Disneyland. This kid needs to quit growing.

I'm too far behind to comment on everything (even a long weekend away puts me behind).

Overall it sounds like a great trip. Anxious to see the pictures. Glad that Jacob got to see Anna & Elsa.

LOVE the Olaf bags.

The pictures with Peter Pan are great.

:cool1::cool1::cool1: on the Disney card through the Visa.

Arguing Co-worker on Diseny?!?! Aren't you a card carrying Disney Junkie? Just kidding Hope you had a great weekend.

I have let it go, by now. I was just in disbelief. I had heard there were people out there that had that view, but I didn't know I KNEW someone. I may have to rethink our friendship on this one. :rotfl2: Just kidding. I do think it is funny about this one person. She spent around $5,000 on her new oven/stove. Had it specially painted Fierrari red, but she wouldn't pay extra for "free" fastpasses.

Don't worry about catching up. I hope you are feeling better. I took Chelsea back to school shopping this weekend, so not much time leftover for posting pictures. I will hopefully get to do that this week after work.

Arguing Co-worker on Diseny?!?! Aren't you a card carrying Disney Junkie? Just kidding Hope you had a great weekend.

I showed her my card, but some people are just determined to be wrong.

I took Chelsea clothes shopping this weekend. I have 3 kids, but luckily, I have been able to take them one at a time for the last several years(although Marissa did tag along and bought some of her own things). I can't imagine having to do 3 at one time. It was bad enough when I just had 2 and Jacob wouldn't go into the boys dressing room alone, but wouldn't go in the girls dressing room either. Marissa refused to try on things in the empty boy's dressing room too. They weren't patient either with having to wait while one tried on things. I so could not handle clothes shopping with triplets. :worship: Chelsea is very picky. She bought one pair of boots, so we will probably still need to do some shoe shopping. I did end up buying Marissa 3 pairs of shoes, so she should be set.

19 Days! I am so excited, but I have much to do. I haven't started packing. None of us have started packing. We have only 2 weekends left before we leave. We leave on the 30th and arrive very early on the 31st, so that weekend doesn't count. I need several more things. Moleskin is top on my list! I had trouble finding it local last year and had to order online. I need to do trip shopping, but the kids are all wanting back to school shopping. Marissa wants me to take her to Best Buy tonight to buy a new laptop (her money). Maybe I can talk them into Target too. We do need groceries. However, Target didn't have the moleskin. Hmmmm. I didn't want to spend all evening shopping, but I am running out of time. Plus, if I don't get into the gym, I won't have much to wear.

I can't figure out my magic bands. I have extremely small wrists (only thing that is small on me). So, it actually fits on the kid band, but pride won't let me just take off the "adult" portion. So, it wraps around my wrist and the extra is uncomfortable. The best size is using one hole of the kid (colored) portion and one hole from the black portion. This makes it lose but it won't come off, but there is still so much extra band that it looks stupid. Do I just cut it off? Did others cut the "extra" band off after sizing it?

We bought some glow in the dark finger nail polish for Chelsea's at Justice. I need to find some base nail polish. We will try using that for her magic band. I don't think I am brave enough to mess with the rest of ours. I truly am a creative failure. Maybe I can draw stick figures with Mickey ears.

I need to get some work done. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm not telling my girls that some people paint their bands. We leave before you, and I have not given any thought to anything creative.

Who is ready for more pictures? My photopass CD came today and I have been organizing them for the last hour. Hopefully, this will be pain free.

i just ;aughed my tail off on your space mountain pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I know. I am so glad I got the photo pass pre-order thing, because I love this picture. I love Marissa's face. She was not thinking it was a magical moment. :rotfl: Everytime she boarded a ride, I think she looked at the other people to see if any happened to be the same woman. I don't think she would have ridden another if she had spotted her on the same ride.
