...And if you are from a country which DOESN"T wear deodorant, then do not crowd the entire population of your country into a space meant for one person---which would be right in front of where my family has been patiently waiting for 45 minutes to watch a parade.

In my earlier post, I didn't advocate letting people get away with cutting or being rude or nasty. I just said that it should be left to disney to police these people; not other guest. I find it incredibly petty and childish to waste mine or my famalies good vacation time worrying about or stewing over what I percieve as someone elses stupidity or rudeness. When I'm at WDW with my wife and daughters, we're having way too much fun to sweat the little stuff. I used to get upset about a lot of this stuff we've all been talking about on this thread until I stepped back and took a look at how stupid I looked for ranting and raving for an hour about being two spots farther back in a line at an amusement park. geez, louise; the #1 rule is to relax and have fun..you're at disney world.

I have mentioned this before someplace. I want to put this properly because in theory it is great when the audience is responsive to a show. The last couple of times I went to the Country Bears, I was unable to understand or hear the words to the songs because the audience was stomping their feet and clapping their hands so loud the place shook.

Part of the problem is that the sound system is really in desperate need of updating. It just requires a little restraint on the part of the "fans" to be sensitive to the people that have never been there before. In order to insure that this attraction never goes the way of so many other "classics" it will require return visits by a lot of "new" visitors. The one that I was there with has no intention of returning because they couldn't hear it.

So it is a mixed message. On one hand it is great that people like it so much but the other hand is in danger of being chopped off due to decreased attendance. There must be a solution, don't you think?

A couple more things to remember: If you are driving a car to the parks, please don't open your doors until the car next to you has parked. Also, if you are in a line for a ride, food, monorail, etc., do not bend over from the waist to tend to your child and put your butt in some other kid's face.

this one has a little grey area, but, along the same lines: don't have grandma sittin on main street for two hours "holding" spots for 10 or 15 people who are gonna come running up a minute before the parade. It just leads to problems. also, I have heard alot of people *****ing about this lately: if you're an adult and a small child weezles their way in along side you at the parade: make room for them!! after all, disney is all about the children. that child is not going to dtract from your view.

This is my biggest pet peeve. When we took the kids for the first time last summer, we were waiting for the parade and we were probably third in the row, with the first two rows sitting and the kids in their strollers waiting for the parade to start (their first mind you) and as soon as the parade started the first two rows of adults all at once stood up. I could not even believe it. And even though we asked they refused to sit down so we ended up leaving b/c the babies couldn't even see anything. It was the rudest thing I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't figure out why stake out a spot all day, just to stand up when the parade started?

But for those of us who can control an ECV the rule has got to be:

don't suddenly push your child in front of it when it's moving because there is a gap, they need time to stop!!

I'm guilty of this.

The reason DS and I end up standing is because the people behind start to push and try to squeeze in front of us as soon as the parade starts. The pushing was so bad one night in MK, I was afraid someone was going to fall on top of us, so we stood up.

Or we have had to deal with people sticking their feet between us while we're sitting down. This is done to slowly nudge their way into a space. First there just a foot, then a leg, before you know it a whole body.

Here's mine: after you park your car and get out, walking toward the parking tram/park entrance, don't walk right down the center of the aisle where cars are coming down trying to park. It slows everyone down. Walk over an aisle where there's no traffic and proceed to the tram that way. Safer for everyone.

AMEN! To all of these. When getting on the buses, I have had people glare at me and one woman even had the nerve to say to me as she was exiting the back door, "You got on first, but you leave LAST!!" As if I didn't know this fact?!?!

In fact I would gladly offer to take your legs that can walk around the parks, if you would take mine, that can't.

And while I'm here:

If you want to see a parade Get There Early!! 6:30 is NOT too soon for a 9:00 nighttime parade!! Got get some fast food and eat it right where you want to sit. Let other members of your party go see the sights but have them come back at least 30 minutes before the parade starts. DO NOT wander Main Street 20 minutes before the parade begins expecting to find curbside seating. It was gone 45 minutes ago! And do not try to rationalize with me why I should let you have my or my family's seats. If I've been there since 6pm, (3pm for elevated benches in the railroad station.), you could have been there too. And please do not stand your children in front of me, (seated), or squeeze them in between me and my husband.

And please don't take up handicpped seating, when you or someone in your party doesn't need it. Sooner or later someone who does will come along and you will have to move.

Disney will not sell photos of undressed people. We ended up having to do Splash Mt again. We couldn't buy our first picture, which had topless folks in it behind us.

I think lining up for the parades is the biggest waste of time and totally unnecessary. I can't believe people will sit for 2 hours and just wait! You can see the parade better if you just stay away from the curb completely. We usually watch over by the barbershop, or near the station, or over by town hall. We stand waaaaayyyy back from the mob and always can see just fine. We'll just hold our kids up if there is something low to the ground, but most of the parades are designed where everything to see is above crowd level. In fact, the farther back you are the better I think. I can't stand being packed in close to people, so you'll never see me anywhere near Main St. We'll just stroll over to one of our favorite spots about 5 minutes before the parade starts. Or many times we just skip the parade because we've seen it a lot and it's a good time to ride rides.

I thought I was the only person on the planet that felt that way I'd much rather stand back and watch from a distance than give up valuable ride time waiting for the parade to start. I wouldn't have someone a hold spot for me simply because there are so many rude people out there that they might overwhelm the person holding the spot before you get back there anyway. To those of you that want to wait for the parade....I wish you the best of luck (seriously)

People watching at WDW is part of the experience for me. I've also met the nicest people, face to face, and had the best conversations with them, while we were all waiting. And, even though I get there early, I'm often not the first one there.

I like to be up close on the curb. and have been waiting for parades for years. I've enjoyed every last minute. As far as other people taking my space(s). If they don't understand "Yes, this is taken", the look I shoot them definitely tells them they are trying to sit in the wrong place. I've never saved spaces for more than three other people and whomever I'm with, knows to get back there at least 30 minutes before the parade starts, or earlier, to spell me.

When I didn't need an ECV, we would go get a fast food dinner. Two people would sit and eat, the other two would disappear for an hour. Then they would come back and then we would disappear for an hour. Thirty minutes before everyone would be back to wait for the parade to begin. Now that I need the ECV, I just settle myself in and get to know the folks around me.

For me it's the end to a perfect day!
