#1 rule to remember while at WDW

Stroller Heaven at the Magic Kingdom.

Instead of getting angry, I have come to the conclusion that don't visit the Magic Kingdom between 10:00-4:00 p.m. especially in the area behind the castle.
It is Stroller Heaven Area and they have complete rightaway.

Save yourself and go from Tomorrowland, to the front of the Castle, say hi to Walt and Mickey and continue to I think it is Adventureland where Swiss Family Tree House is. No one is there, you can get right on all the rides.

Save your ankle and shins, beware of the Stroller Parents!!

I don't think I have seen this one specifically:

I HATE it when someone is behind you in a line and constantly pushing you from behind...as if you could move forward if you wanted to. Drives me NUTS!

These are probably the same people who can't remain seated in an airplane until it comes to a stop at the gate...I haven't seen one of these people yet arrive at the gate before the airplane gets there :-)

Please don't get upset when people in wheel chairs are seated first at the shows. We tend to get to the shows very early and so many people complain when wheel chairs are seated first.

Not all of us are Stroller Parents. I try to avoid people with my stroller but sometimes it can not be avoided when people stop in front of me or walk in front of me. But I agree there are alot of people who use strollers as weapons. Many times I have walked through the parks and people pass me and say "watch out or you'll get hit". And I was no where near them.

I have learned not to confront people who cut, except to give them a look. Once while waiting in line for food at MGM, the lady in front of me thought the lady in front of her cut, there was some words exchanged and then one lady pushed the other. I was a little nervous that it was going to turn into a huge fight.

And please, while at shows, I know it is hard to control young excited children, but please don't let them bang on the seats in front of them or the people. Once while waiting for Beauty and the Beast to start, a little one was hitting the back of the seat and hitting my husbands shoulders. My husband has arthritis and was not happy about being hit, but the mother said nothing. All my husband did was turn and look at the kid once. Then I happened to turn around and the mother went nuts. She invited me outside for a fight. Lets just say my day was ruined, I think we walked over to epcot so I could avoid any further contact with her.

Yikes gshoemate! You sure you didn't go during WWF Smackdown Week or what???? Crazy people!

If you haven't purchased the Fantasmic Dining Experience, Please don't take the seats that are reserved for those who have. We went in Feb. and purchased a pretty costly meal to have people running over from the general stands and pushing their way through to the reverved seating area. Not so nice.
Here is a nice DO: Smile. At Cast Members at other peoples children, at people who are rude to you..
even say "have a nice day" to those who are being obnoxious... It helps you feel better.. esp. when only you know what you really mean... :earseek:

A bit off topic but ...

I was in line at the Backlot Tour just before the ramps. I was pushing a stroller and was following a rather large man who walking very slow and weaving and bobbing back and forth. When I had the chance I quickly moved to one side of this man to get in front of him - well in doing so I cut off another woman.

Well for rest of the attraction the woman I cut off just kept talking about rude people born in barns etc etc etc. Well when we got to the trams I had to step out of line to fold-up the stroller. This woman was then able to get back in front of us and my wife said she gave me the nastiest look in the world.

Because this woman couldn't let it go it probably ruined the entire attraction for her.

DNSDisney, I am with you. We have experienced the pushy kids in the Minnie house every time we were there. My poor DD7 is not at all assertive & always tends to get pushed to the back or side or never gets a chance. I just wish that the parents would be a little more attentive to what's going on.

On the other hand, it seems that my DS17mos. will have no trouble with assertiveness. I will try my best to follow my own advice & make sure he doesn't get pushy.

Great thread!

Milliore -
You gave me some thought. How many times have I made a blunder by accident and my intention was not to be rude. I will first give someone the benefit of the doubt.

Here's another one that really pi$$e$ me off..........
When on a ride that takes your picture, please do not raise your hands way up in the air. Just because you have the ride memorized and know exactly when the flash goes off and then put your hands way up in the air only to ruin the pictures for the people that are seated behind you. I can't tell you how many times our faces were completely blocked out by hands. Guess what?? Some people actually like to have those photos, but not with your hands in the way of our faces!!

But there are people who refuse to TURN OFF THE LIGHT ON THE VIDEO CAMERA!!!

On a ride, it destroys the whole experience for everyone. In a live show, you could cause a performer to miss a cue and possibly sustain a serious injury. In a crowd at night, it is guaranteed to be shining into someone's eyes.

RE: noisy teens on rides making noises that scaring little children: I find that if I just say "Hey guys, you're scaring my little boy. Could you please hold it down?" Most of the time, they stop, and they even apologize.

Oh that camera thing is MEGA annoying! I wish they would totally ban camera on all rides and in all shows. During Playhouse Disney the other day about 4 fathers had either video cameras or snap shot cameras WAY up over there heads taking pics during the whole show??? Do they honestly even care that kids behind them can't see a thing??? I would really like to yell "Put your stinkin' camera down you idiot" ;) but of course I didn't. Same goes on the rides. Why does a person feel the need to take pictures on a ride?? Not only does the flash totally ruin it for everyone but it's stupid. Are you going to sit at home and look through pics of rides?? Doesn't that ruin the magic and the specialness (is that a word?) of the whole experience.

I can't stand when a family of 4 or more all walk around holding hands, forming a human chain that you can't get past because they are taking up the entire walkway. That just irks me.

OK, I totally agree, but unfortunately, I'm related to one of these ammature photographers/videographers. A relative of mine INSISTED on sitting on the end of every, I mean EVERY ride when I was 12 and filming the entire ride!
Needless to say, she made my four-year-old niece watch the tapes BEFORE she brought her to Disney. (Talk about spoiling it).

No one watches those things, what a waste and annoyance for everyone else! Buy the postcard!!!

Although this happened to us at Universal's parking deck, it has relevance here as well.

I know your kids are very excited to be at the parks, but please make sure they do not--in their excitement--kick open the car door into someone else's vehicle. This happened to us in a car my husband had had for less than one month. It took an hour from both families' trips to survey the damage, get insurance information and quiet the crying child who kept saying to his parents "I didn't mean to." We aren't mean, but the huge dent in our car was over 3 inches deep--we had to get the information. And yes this was a very big deal to us (several hundred dollars worth of damage). This basically ruined 2 days of our vacation. We were upset over it the whole day at the park and then the next day spent hours on the phone with the man's rental car insurance people trying to straighten things out. (Luckily they accepted our claim and we could go back to enjoying the vacation.)

Please, if you have small children, make them wait in the car and help them with the car doors. It is also a saftey factor as well. I have seen small children jump from cars that have not stopped, as well as children be struck by opening car doors. And these incidents worry me more than our property damage!

I get annoyed with the picture thing too...but I was referring to the rides that take your picture that you can buy at the end of the ride at the photo counter. Splash Mountain, ToT, Test Track RnR etc the souvinier photos that the ride takes for you! I can't stand when someone in front of you knows when the in ride camera will take your photo and they put their hands way up in the air and totally ruin the picture for everyone behind them by blocking out your face - very selfish - nad they almost never buy the picture. Maybe I'm stupid but I love buying those pictures - they're so funny and a nice thing to have for the vacation photo album.
