OK- so I really don't wanna spend $ on a cart at all- mostly cuz i dont mind walking, and i'll have a stroller anyways so not exactly convenient.

But we're traveling w/ my inlaws who I'm sure woudl appreciate the not having to walk far in the heat.
Also, my kids woudl think it's super cool.

Basically- there are 8 of us- 5 adults (including in laws) and 3 boys (5, 3 and newborn)
there is NO way we could all fit on 1 cart.

What I'm thinking would work well for us is to just rent the 1 cart- adn for those of us that don't mind walking- we can walk and leave a few minutes b4 the other half when going to places that are a further walk. Then the cart can be for my inlaws and maybe the boys.
Also, if for some reason it's pouring, 1 person coudl drive and drop off half the group and then come back for the ohter half if we really thought it was necessary. Only for severe weatehr moments.

Does this sound crazy/strange? I really don't like the idea of renting 2 carts! Just seems like such a waste of money to me....

There is a place off site that rents larger carts, I don't think Kenny has larger cart but if you do a search someone on this board rented a larger one

For what it's worth we were able to carry 4 adults and 3 kids (1yr, 3yr and 4yrs old) plus a large stroller in 1 of the FW carts. We are traveling with more people this year and we'll simply take extra trips to take all of us to our destination. It's not worth renting 2 carts in my opinion. Just my 2c! :thumbsup2!

I am going to move to Florida take a bunch of golfcarts and rent them out!

I run 3 business now whats 1 more.

I'd rent a six person cart offsite or make two trips. The six person cart should be plenty big enough. It's designed to haul six people around a golf course (as well as their gear). Plus, renting offsite is a lot cheaper than renting from the Fort.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a cart either so we just booked ours from Tee Time Rentals, but they only have 4 person carts. I kept going back and forth about getting a cart myself, but decided that getting one would be worth it. I know we are already going to do a lot of walking inside the parks and probably wouldn't feel like doing even more walking to and from the bus stops, the pool, the trading post, etc especially with the heat beating down on us.

Whatever you decide, have fun at the Fort!

Golf Cart Enterprises started giving 20% discounts off the cart rental to Ft. Wilderness guest and to stop the extra charge for weekend deliveries and pick-ups as of 5/18/09. So the new price for a 1-week rental for a 4-passenger cart would be $244.95 total. That's tax, delivery and pick-up. The cost for a 6-passenger would be $330.15 total. Call us if you would like to reserve a cart. We don't charge your card until 48 hours before we deliver and if you need to cancel we just ask you give us at least 72 hours notice. Delivery and pick-up times are 9am to 4pm, 7-days a week. Most of our carts have long tops that cover the backseat passengers also. Thanks, Mike 407 656-0995

Just wanted to add that we rented from Mike at GCE in December and were really happy with the cart and their service.

We already have a cart reserved from you for this coming Nov! :thumbsup2

Mike, that is great news about the discount and weekend deliveries without a surcharge. It is so nice when a business responds to customer demand! Now if we could only get Disney to do that.

:santa:
