Well, if you have been reading this trip report, you will know that I made my decision pretty quickly. I did post a poll looking for suggestions and then based upon people's thoughts, decided..
Yes, I know, it is already in my signature. I decided on Pop. Since we won't be arriving until midnight or later, it didn't make sense to pay for a moderate since all we are doing is paying for a bed for 7 hours or so. Also, on the AKV side, I thought about it and decided that I wanted the kids to walk into AKL for the first time when they were awake, not when they were tired and cranky. Is that crazy?
I was able to get the
AAA rate but booking was a little weird in my mind. I called CRO and after the CM quoted me the rates, I had to ask if it was the AAA rate and she "Oh yeah, I forgot" (or something similar) and then gives me new rates. I decided on a standard room since the only difference in a preferred room is that it is closer to the bus stop, pool, and food court. Well, since we are only staying one night and have a car, none of that mattered. OK, now to the weird part, I was surprised that I had to provide my sister's address including zip code. I am not sure why they needed it.
Luckily, I was able to dig out my address book because I only mail something to her once a year, i.e. Christmas card, so I have no idea what her zip code is. Thinking back, this is only the second time that I have used CRO and the first time, last year, was a solo trip. My previous non-DVC trips have all been booked by
travel agent.
Now, I bet you are all wondering what we will be doing with the extra hours that we now have. Well, I came up with 3 options:
1) turn it into a park day
2) move Chef Mickey to breakfast and then spend the rest of the day at AKV even if our room isn't ready yet
3) after breakfast at Pop, go play mini-golf and then head over to AKV to spend the rest of the day there (until Chef Mickey's that night)
DSis and I discussed it and we think that we will go with option 3. A park day would be nice but we are going to be running the kids ragged for the following 3 days, so a relaxing day to start off will be nice. We also decided against moving Chef Mickey to breakfast because DSis and the kids have already had breakfast there.
