[ 8 days Port Orleans French Quarter, DD 21, myself 57. I rented a ECV through Scootaround, via AAA who made all my reservations for us including the Disney reservations. Scootaround met me in the Lobby at exactly when they said they would, I signed one paper, reviewed what to do if any problems, and was done in minutes.
Our room was in building 1 1325, overlooking the river. I paid for a standard room, and got a lovely view, from the third floor. The room was clean, comfortable, well appointed and fit our needs perfectly. The hotel is lovely, it was quiet, no hoards of teens running loose, never heard any outside noises, except the occasional horns from the river boats, on the couple evenings that we were in the room early. (before 11pm)
As for Magic Band, we had absolutely zero problems in the full 8 days. We used them for our Disney dining, for magic memories, for paying for things in the parks, getting on rides, doing updated fast passes....never a hitch. They worked ..... well, like magic !!
We loved not having to carry cash with us, loved sending packages to the gift shop, and then picking it up the next day.
Having the dining plan was very freeing for us. We researched which table service places we wanted to visit, by menu, and by experience -- what sounded fun....and we did the same with the counter service, having afew places in mind as to what sounded good, and what had the best desserts !!! We had the basic plan, and had cousins bring us a flat of water, and breakfast items to eat with our refillable coffee/cocoa mugs.
The table service we chose were:
Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom - delicious ! Great Service, loved the fresh fish special.
Sci Fi Theater in Hollywood Studios - food was just so-so, but DD loved eating in the car, and watching the old movies.
Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom - OMG food was incredible, the ambiance, service and experience was unreal !!! We called daily after that using the phone# and mobile app to try to get back in , and got a same day cancellation reservation to go our last night again. The food, and experience was like eating in the movie itself.
Ackershus Princess Breakfast - EPCOT Norway. We don't eat pork, and they don't have turkey or chicken sausage or bacon, so we ate eggs and potatoes and from the buffet items. It was good. Nothing above and beyond, but we did enjoy the princess meet and greet, we did not feel pressured to leave or finish quickly, and had a fun time.
Cinderella's Table Breakfast -- Magic Kingdom - Fun, good breakfast, we enjoyed the apple caramel stuffed French toast ! When we explained that we didn't eat pork, but wanted eggs, our waiter brought us enough eggs to feed a small army, along with potatoes, extra plates of French toast and everything else he could think of. It was pretty funny. I loved this breakfast, even though it is two dinning credits, we had fun with our magic wands and wishing stars. We were not rushed out either, we sat and enjoyed coffees and enjoyed ourselves.
Biergarten --EPCOT Germany - If you don't eat pork like us, don't bother going to this. But if you drink beer, like pork, and enjoy 12 minutes of a German band playing.....then go. for us though, it was awful. The only entrée with out bacon or pork was the chicken. Even the fish had bacon. the Beef had bacon, the schnitzel was pork, the meat loaf was pork....and the crowd was drinking beer like it was water. I wouldn't go again. But if pork and beer turn you on.....We had thought that it sounded like fun, with
dancing and all, but no one danced except very young children and a few drunk men.
We opened most of the parks each day, and stayed until they were ushering us out....we ran, ran ran all week. And it was a gas !!!!B][/B]
